THIEVES. THIEVES. THIEVES. This is the Truth to best describe this company. Not Only Did They Attempt to Charge $10,000 for the Incomplete Move, They Quit Before Completion (& Did So Via Text) & We Had To Hire Another Company (just to move the remaining items; THAT DID NOT INCLUDE Re-Hanging of Doors, etc. at both sites), And MANY OF OUR ITEMS NEVER MADE IT. Their Excuse, "Well, y'all had a lot of stuff. Maybe you just can't find it." As Time Passes, We Find There Are Even More Items Missing Than Those We Have Attempted to File A Claim For. FILING CLAIMS WITH THEM IS ABOUT NON-EXISTENT... YOU'LL HAVE TO GET AN ATTORNEY TO PURSUE ANY LOSS(ES).. They Are Unreliable, Dishonest, Smooth & Slick. THIEVES. THIEVES. THIEVES. GET AN ATTORNEY NOW if you choose them! We Have. WLR & CRB, Lake Charles, LA

Review: The actual day of the move had absolutely horrible service. The movers (who I later found out were known to be problematic to the company) were not prepared for the type of service I requested (full pack), were delayed getting to my address, and took longer than necessary. In the process, they also broke my TV. I spoke to the main office to file an insurance form which took over a month to receive. I was told three times that it would be sent out that day before it was finally sent out about four weeks later.I filled out the insurance form and sent it back with certified mail so I could track it. Tracking registered it being delivered on 10/5 with no one available to sign for it. I spoke with the company on 10/12, since it had still not been picked up. I was told that the company routinely does not receive certified mail (and does not go to pick them up), and has had this problem for 15 years, and refuses to change its processes. They also requested that I resend the item in regular mail, without tracking or forced confirmation of receipt, which I refuse to do in order to protect myself. The company is actively blocking my attempts to get compensation for damaged goods, and has had horrible service from the service provided to dealing with the aftermath. At this point I'm requesting a refund and for them to actually fulfill their duty in handling my insurance claim.Desired Settlement: For the horrible service both before, during, and after the service provided, I'm requesting a refund. I'm also requesting that they handle my insurance claim as has been promised.

Review: Fast Affordable College Student Movers does business as or through "Parish Movers." "Parish Movers" falsely advertises that they have A+ rating by the Revdex.com. In fact, there is no registered business "Parish Movers," nor is Fast Affordable College Student Movers registered. For our move, one of the two individuals who was assigned to our job was (we learned late in the day) injured and unhealthy, and this affected the time it took to complete our move. Our fee supposedly was based on hours worked, but we were charged for downtime including numerous breaks such as cigarette breaks spent standing outside the property, and downtime for recovery of the unhealthy individual - spent sitting in the cab of the moving truck, etc. We believed all this downtime would be deducted, because it was not "work" and should not have been part of the fee calculation for our moving job. Additionally, between our locations (moving to final location), the moving truck essentially disappeared for about 1.5 hours. We were told the guys had to make a 15-20 minute trip to a neighboring jobsite to deliver equipment. However, they took about 1.5 hours and the delay never was explained. We were sincerely worried we would never see our items again. When they returned, the breaks and delays continued and that is when it was admitted that one of the movers had a hernia that was affecting his work. We ended up unloading a number of items ourselves to try to make the move go faster. Finally, the move was over and we expected all this downtime to be deducted from the per hour agreed fee. It was not. Additionally, one of our items was damaged in the move. After speaking with a manager, post-moving date, it was agreed the company would return a portion of our fee. After numerous attempts to collect that, and after written demand, the company has failed to return the agreed upon refund. Research your movers, always get an estimate beforehand, and avoid this company.Desired Settlement: On September 2, 2015, a manager for Fast Affordable College Student Movers, Brian, agreed by phone to return $125 of our paid moving fee to us at the address on record. After a week passed without receipt of this refund, we contacted the company again and were assured it was being mailed that date. We contacted the company once more by phone and followed that with written demand for return of the agreed upon refund by/before Sept. 30, 2015. To date we have not received the refund.

Response:

At this time, my complaint, ID 10842713 regarding Fast Affordable College Student Movers has been resolved.College Student Movers finally issued a valid check, that I just received, to refund the amount discussed by phone with their representative - about 6 weeks before issuance - and two months after our move. We still have complaints about this company's practices and would strongly caution any other consumer about them. However, we acknowledge this payment and are okay closing the file. Thank you for your assistance with this matter. Our writing alone did not prompt the company to make the payment. We believe it finally issued as a result of the complaint you passed along - having a third party involved. Thanks,

Sincerely,

Review: movers arrived and took 7 hours to get our stuff packed into their truck. the next day, because of their faulty truck equipment it took over 12 hours to unload. the head mover stated that unpacking is much faster because it does not involve strategic placement of goods inside the moving truck. just getting things out. I called the business owner to discuss the $2296 moving charge to contest the fee due to their faulty equipment and to again report some damage to goods during the move. I phone the business 4 times and the owner has not made a move.Desired Settlement: I would like a reduction in the total moving fee by $1000 and address the damaged goods.
