This letter best describes my story with l.Dnumber [redacted] with the Revdex.com.When I first recived [redacted] s ***, she contacted me stating that Church StreetAuto towed her vehicle oh‘ the road and after looking her vehicle over, they decided that theydid not want to take the jobThey refered her to my business and after she contacted me Iwent to [redacted] and towed it back to my shop for freeAfter unloading it off mytrailer, pulled it into the garage, I began diagnosing what may be wrong with the carI foundthat the timing belt had broke while she was driving and the car was In need ofa new cylinderheadThese engines are interference motors, meaning that when the time belt breaks it causesdamage to the cylinder headI quoted her an estimate of $2,to repair the existing motor.y After a few days I recived a call from [redacted] informing me she had found acompany on [redacted] that offered warrantied used motors for less than cost of motor repairIadvised her against this due to not knowing anything about the company or its reputationIsuggested she buy a remanufactured with warrenty on parts and laborDue to this I made itclear to her that I could not warranty the engine should anything go wrong with the motor.| wasstrictly an InstallerI have no way to test motors before installing them Into vehicles at my garage and no way to tell if they are faulty until they are installedShe understood this anddecided to buy the used motor off ***It took approximately two weeks for the motor toarrive from the company she bought it fromI contacted her and told her the motor was usedout of another car, the motor mounts on engine from company were cut and still onShe kindlyinformed me there was no rush and understood that the engine came out of another vehicleIinformed her l would work on it around my other jobs as they came in and she agreed thatwould work out fineRemoval and install of new used motor was approximately two weeks, andI kept her updated as I wentThe company on [redacted] required that a new water pump and timingbelt were installed on motor for it to be warrantied, which I did before installing motor.On initial start up of installed motor, the engine would crank but I could not get it torunI checked for spark, for fuel, and for any grounds or disconnected wires I may have missed.As I tried to crank the motor again, coolant began dripping from the cylinder headI testedengine compresstion and it was very lowI pulled the oil drain plug, coolant and oil mixed cameout which I documentedMotor had some form of severe internal damage that was notapparent on initial obsenrationI called [redacted] and informed her that the motor she hadrecieved was damaged and that the company would need to be contacted to warranty itShehowever refused to call the warranty company, not wanting to deal with itSo l offered to callfor them and contacted the engine supplierwent thru the warranty processes and afteranother approximate two weeks another replacement motor arrived.At this point I did want to recieve the first payment of $for ?rst install beforecontinuing on to the second motorjobShe had understood that I could not warranty the workon the motor since l did not purchase it or have the abilities to test itWe had taken the word ofthe online companyShe refused to pay and was understandably frustrated with the situationItold her I didnt feel comfortable starting until I recieved payment for original installI did feelbad about the situation and told her I would not charge for the timing belt and water pumpremoval and install on second engine saving her around $I also paid for her tow bill with [redacted] of $just to help outAfter about a month of deciding what to do, sheinsisted on paying for both jobs at once in full for However insisting the job be done in athree daytime frame, starting the friday night she paidI informed her that would be ratherdifficult since I usually do not work weekends and that I did not want to rush the job seeing aswe had already had so many set backs and that I had other jobs come in while she was ?guringout an arrangement for the paymentAfter that night she somehow recieved my personal cell phone numberBoth her andher granddaughter would call me repeatedly demanding updates, sometimes even within hourperiodsUnderstanding their frustration I did my best to keep them updatedHowever when Iwas unable to meet her demanded deadline, she began threatening me, at one point statingher son would come down to my business and deal with me personallyAt this point I did notcontact them until vehicle was finished which in total took seven days from date of payment,due to other jobs that came inThe new used motor ran good but did smoke out the exhaust,which l informed her was a possible sign of headgasket and made clearShe insisted that Ipersonally warrenty this motor, which time and again I informed her could not doI did notpurchase this motor and had no affiliation with this companyI was just the installerAfterabout two and a half weeks from the time she drove vehicle out of shop, I recieved a call from [redacted] saying that her granddaughter had overheated the vehicle and broke clownTheengine company will also not warranty engines if they have been overheatedShe continued toharass and threaten me on both personal and work phoneI no longer wanted her businessafter these instances which I made clear to her due to behaviorI told her she would have totake it to another facility and have to call the warrenty company herself.However, a few days after this incident, [redacted] s husbsand, [redacted] , arrived at mygarageHe apologized to me, stating I had done the right thing, that his wife and granddaughterwere out of line with their harassmentThat he wanted to maintain a good relationship with meand my businessAlso that it was just overall a bad situation and that I was not to blame for thevehicle breaking downHe still wanted to do business with me and
