Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/10/02) */
This is an old and antique pocket watch that he brought in completely stop runningOur services are to completely clean up, overhaul, and replace the main springAfter repair, we monitored the watch for days before given back to him and the
watch running just fineHowever, after he pick up the watch, it just stop runningIt happened a few times just like he said and we honestly thought that we did not repair properly and keep trying to fix for himThe last time we keep the watch and monitor for week and it running all fineWe called him in to pick up and minutes later he just came back with the watch not runningAt this point, we thought that he may just want the money back and took the watch, pull out the crown to stop the watch from running, otherwise there is no reason it stop running in his hand but it has been running fine at our store and all my employees take turn to monitor itWe told him that we can refund his money but we need to have the watch for one day so that we can switch out the mainspring that we replaced for himAfter hearing that, he stop took the watch and ran awaySo the bottom line to all of this is we think the watch we fixed running just fine and he just changed his mind and didnt want to pay for the serviceWe still honor the refund money back to him but our new mainspring need to be switch out so that we can return it to our warehouse
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/10/05) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I had returned the watch several times, as stated in the original complaintUpon returning the watch for the last time, the employee held the watch in her hands and had seen that it had stopped runningI explained to the Fast-Fix employees that the watch worked fine as long as it was laying flat but when wearing the watch it stops workingIf the crown had been pulled out, as stated by Fast Fix, the employee could have simply seen the issue and pushed the crown back in, showing me that it had workedOn two separate occasions I had requested that the manager call me directly to resolve the matterTo date I have not received a phone call from their managerI request that my repair fees be refunded, as the issue has not been resolvedI no longer trust Fast Fix, and have chosen to take my watch to a Revdex.com approved repair establishment to be fixed
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/10/06) */
We will refund your $with the condition you need to bring your watch back so that we can switch back your original broken mainspringThe reason we need to do this because we believe your watch should be working fine right now if you know how to wind it up properly dailyWe monitored your watch for consecutive days and it runs just fine to all of our staffsWe are really sorry for this inconvenient but that is our policy
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2015/10/07) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
If the main spring was broken and you replaced it I don' believe that you would have kept a broken main springI was told that the main spring was sent to the San Diego area for repairI do not trust Fast- Fix with my watchI will take my watch to a more reputable repair establishment and if the main spring is the problem I will have them remove it and I will return it to Fast Fix for a refund

Review: Bad repair job on 4 gold/silver rings.

On 2/1/2013, I went into Fast Fix Jewelry to have 4 rings repaired that had been cut off due to swollen fingers. The only work they were to perform was to repair the bands on three of the rings, and refurbish crowns on the 4th ring. All of the rings were Black Hills Gold. I also brought in a ring that I wanted to sell. They gave me a price for it and were supposed to take it off my bill, but they did not. I had to go back in and collect the amount for the sale of the ring. I also had to get money back on one of the Silver rings, that they had charged me for a Gold repair. On the other rings, the jeweler burnished the design off from the leaves and grapes of the rings. The textured design is unique to Black Hills Gold jewelry. One of the rings had a dent in one of the leaves. When I pointed this out to the manager, he told me I had hit the ring on something to make the dent (Lie). One ring had an indentation in the band where the repair was done, where not enough gold had been used with the repair. When I showed this to the manager, he refused to admit that it was a bad repair, and made excuses, and refused to fix it. On the other rings with the design burnished off, he said they would buy a tool and then repair the rings back to their original condition, and that he would call me when the tool was in. He never called, so a month later I called him, but a new manager took my call, and began asking me defensive questions about the repairs, and stated that he knew my rings had been cut off by a police officer (As if this had anything to do with their lousy repair jobs!!!). He was trying to cast some sort of guilt onto me in order to get out of making compensation. He argued with everything I had to say, and was very rude. He asked what he could do to fix my complaints, and I told him the rings could only be fixed by Landstrom's where the rings were purchased, and he would have to pay for having it done. He refused to do this. He refused to refund my money paid for the bad repair jobs to the rings. He said if I brought all the rings back in to their jeweler, he would fix them. Their jeweler is incapable of restoring the design back to the rings. Their jeweler proved his shabby work by damaging the rings, and I do not want them damaged more! I contacted Landstrom's and they explained that the rings would have to be re-dipped in the two different golds, and then the design put back by one of their professionals. The Fast Fix jeweler cannot do this work.Desired Settlement: At this point, I would be willing to accept a full refund of the $280.91 I paid to Fast Fix. The receipt number is #001-16170. The original receipt where they overcharged me is #001-04717.

Business' Initial Response

In regards to Case #65030753 we have done a thorough investigation on this situation. Ms. Candice LaCroix came into our store on Saturday October 13, 2012 to have three ladies rings and one mens rings to be repaired.

Regarding the ladies rings: They had been previously cut off at the lower shank and needed additional repairs. We explained to her that the ladies rings were cut off using a bolt cutting tool and they were in need of additional repairs (See below for further details). The mens ring was brought in to be sized. We gave her a quote on all repairs inquiries and she deceided to only have the mens ring sized at this time, which was picked up the same day.

Then we saw Ms. LaCroix again on Friday, February 1, 2013 to have the same ladies rings repaired, from her previous quotes back in October. Another Sales/Service Associate helped her with all the repairs that needed to be done with the ladies rings. She was given a price and asked if we would honor multiple discounts. Her items were repaired the same day as requested and when she picked up her items the same Sales/Service Associate helped her and Candice showed no disappoinment in the services.

We recieved a phone call from Ms. LaCroix about a week after the repairs done on February 1, 2013, saying that the design on the top of the rings looks worn out and insisted that it was done during the time we repaired her rings. After intentively listening to her complaint, We let her know that over time metal wears out (ie. Prong repairs that were done to one of her rings) and the details of the designs become faded over time. Ms. LaCroix questioned that our on-site jeweler just polished off her Black Hills Gold Designs at the time of repairs. We offered to have the details restored to her rings; however, a custom finishing tool that manufactures use would need to be ordered re-do the design.

She agreed to have this done and was notified later that the tool was on back order from our suppliers. When it did arrive Ms. LaCroix did not want us to work on her rings at all. She only wanted us to pay for the re-making of the rings from the manufacture.

We included pictures of her rings before we repaired them to prove the condition it came in. We are sure that it is proof enough to show the wear on the top which she is complaining about.

Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

Fast Fix Jewelry Management continues to deny any damages to my rings. The next step is Small Claims Court; procedures to that action are in process.

Any further evidence and communication will not take place outside the Court, unless Fast Fix Jewelry Management wants to settle outside of Court, such settlement as depicted in the Demand Letter sent to that business.
