Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.First and foremost, their entire rebuttal is a blatant lieThe owner's son told me that a claim would be filed with the insurance company on April 12, He contacted the owner while I stood there and he said my dad told me to file an insurance claimI said is there a phone # to the insurance company or anything that I need, he quickly answered no I'll be the one to keep in touch with youI said okI called one week later, he stated I still have not heard back from the insurance companyThat following Monday he contacted me and said the insurance company told me that your claim was deniedI asked what their reasoning was ,he said because it was a mechanical failureI said why didn't anyone contact me for a statement? He refused to give me a claim # or their phone #He did tell me they go through *** ***I contacted *** ***, they said they DO NOT have business insurance through *** *** and no one filed a claim for me on my behalf for a Kia SorentoI contacted him back to advise him of what they said and he is the one who got absolutely beligerent with meHe said DON'T YOU EVER CONTACT MY INSURANCE COMPANY AGAIN, he said this repeatedlyThen he admitted that he misunderstood the owner (his father) about the insurance claim and that his dad himself looked at the claimSo I then advised him at that point I had caught him in a lieI said please file a claim within business days or I will contact an atty** *** ** *** ** * *** *** *** *** *** *** *** * *** *** * *** *** *** *** he blurted out NO YOU DO NOT to me and I said he doesn't know me well enough to tell me that I don't sympathizeI said up though this point I've been very nice to you guys, but Im starting to feel like I'm being yanked aroundHe said he apologized and he'd get back with me in days and again reiterated to NOT contact their insurance company again*** *** advised me they do not have insurance and that any insurance company of a business would have contacted me for a statement and they are required to give me a claim #The fact that he mentioned my unemployment is laughableFirst of all, I was employed when I filed the claim, I wasn't laid off until April 26, and I have proof of thatI mentioned that because he kept telling me *** *** *** *** *** * *** * *** *** * *** *** *** *** I could let him know about how I lost my jobI'm still laughing at the fact that he said I was desperate for moneyI have a master's degreeI made six figures per year, I have about months worth of my salary in savings, I also am receiving severance and have a job lined up to start next weekI'm not tooting my own horn but I am FAR from desperate for money and I would have NEVER said that to him, they are lying through their teeth that those words even came out of my mouthThe mere fact that I had the nearly $in my savings to pay for this nightmare (and still have plenty more in there after that) while on vacation in which I'd already dropped over a thousand on should let them know, money wasn't the problemI simply asked a claim to be filed and they REFUSE to do itdays later he has his uncle call me (owner's brother) and proceed to talk to me like I'm an itFirst he told me that he owns a shop similar to them and does 300-cars per monthI said ok that's fine, but I've had mechanics tell me this was your all's faultI said one of those mechanics works on exotic vehicles and comes highly recommended all over the stateHe said that he worked on exotic cars too, I said so you change oil on Ferrari's and Lamborghini's out of your shophe said I certainly do, I said to the tune of 300-per month? He said yes, it was at that point that yes I did curse at him and tell him to tell his brother and nephew to file a claim or they'd hear from my atty or I'd file a small claims suit (which I already have). I had the mechanics in South Carolina tell me that they've never ever seen this happen on a vehicle, they said a "hell of a lot of oil pressure had to have built up" with that oil change and that my car was NOT high mileage enough to even warrant a smaller leak than this from a rear main sealThey did say that it "busted!" Those were their exact terms and said they'd never seen anything come though there that badMy car has it's oil changed every 3000-miles, I keep up with the maintenance on it to the teeI had only went to that location twice, I usually had my mechanic friend change it, but we were in a hurry prior to us leaving for our trip and he was unable to get to itI've had two mechanics here at home look at it who both agree it was the oil change that caused the pressure to buildThe ONLY thing I'm asking is that they file a claimAt this point they either will not file the claim because they do not have business insurance or they are worried the insurance company will pay the claim outIf the insurance company comes back and states they will not pay, I would be fine with that and move onThe fact that these men are lying during their entire rebuttal to this claim lets me know what type of business they doI have NEVER had to file a complaint against an oil change company in my entire lifeI have a few friends who know the owner from working with him at previous places and said he is in fact a snake and that he probably does not have business insurance. The average mileage per year on a vehicle has been updated to 15,per year, my car is only 25k miles over that, hardly double!! I would like a claim filed with their insurance company immediately or the small claims court case will stand, I have asked for court fees and I will bring letters from mechanics with me to court as well as all of my receipts and a phone log showing I contacted *** *** after he contacted me.
Regards,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I see no name calling in my last remarks back. I also believe this is written by an [redacted] Be that as it may, it's absolutely not hearsay, I heard it with my own two ears. Everything I have stated has been accurate and completely true. If there is business insurance and it has been paid up then I urge you guys to please file a claim. Bottom line, I will drop the small claims suit if a claim is filed. If this is deemed as a mechanical failure by the insurance company then I will be fine with that decision. My whole issue with this entire situation is #1 the fact that I was told a claim was being filed with insurance to begin with and #2 the fact that the owner is the only person looking at the claims. These types of high dollar claims need to be submitted to insurance. I have a few friends who have worked in the industry and they've all advised me that this is practice at the different companies they have worked for [redacted]Telling me you'll refund me for the oil change is a slap in the face compared to the over $900 I have shelled out due to this issue, who like I've stated, I've had mechanics advise this can most certainly be caused by the filter being put on incorrectly causing oil pressure to build. I've also been told my car is not considered high mileage for this type of issue. One mechanic in South Carolina advised most vehicles with problems from the rear main seal come in with slow leaks because it's slowly deteriorated over time and is beginning to crumble. He said that bad of a leak that I had is unheard of in cars that are the age and mileage of mine and some type of oil pressure had to be building up to make that burst. Again, I urge Fast Lane Lube Centers to file a claim!! That will be the end of it and will resolve this complaint. I will accept whatever the insurance company's decision is. I will immediately drop the small claims suit.  Thanks,
Regards,

[redacted]  This is a frivolous claim that lacks merit and factual basis. This 2012 [redacted] is a high mileage vehicle with over 108,505 miles on it. The national average is 12,000 miles a year and that places this vehicle at twice the national...

average. High mileage and the lack of required maintenance by the manufacture recommendations can cause a rear main seal to fail prematurely. This is a parts mechanical failure and nothing more. This is an internal engine part that is never touched by us doing a basic oil change and filter replacement. There is no such thing as the seal busting completely off the vehicle as stated by the consumer. It is located on the engine crankshaft and enclosed between the engine and transmission. The seal can start leaking over time and wear as stated. When we do an oil change we perform safety checks on the oil. When the vehicle first arrives we check the oil level, after refilling, and again before closing the hood. The consumer drove the vehicle 677 miles without having a problem, there would have been an issue within the first ten miles if there was a problem with the oil change. The consumer forgot to mention in her complaint that she had called the wrong shop and they told her to bring in all of her receipts and paperwork and that they would file an insurance claim, not us. When consumer arrived at our shop she said she had called and talked to the manager. When we informed her that she never spoke to us she started to argue that she had. After asking her what number she had called and checking her phone, it was not us. We looked at her receipts and told her we would give it to the owner and he would decide about her claim and inform her in about a week. She was notified about 10 days later that the owner denied her claim and would not be reimbursed for the repair. Was at that time she was demanding our insurance company name and phone number and the owners’ phone number. [redacted] had asked his brother, who is in the same family business and has 40 years of experience, to contact the consumer and explain why we could not reimburse her for the repairs. At that time she became belligerent using profanity and demanding our insurance company name and phone number, making threats towards our manager and him and our company. We’ve had business insurance with the same company for over ten years without a claim and have never had a complaint filed with the Revdex.com. This consumer informed us she had recently lost her job and was in a desperate situation and needed the money. As stated by the above, we still are denying the reimbursement for the repairs.  [redacted]

The consumers reply consists of untruths, hearsay, innuendos and name calling of the elementary level, which are on the verge of slander. Our company chooses to be professional and state the facts of the matter without the name calling and false accusations. In order to promote customer satisfaction we would offer to refund the cost for the oil change. Every vehicle owner is responsible for the maintenance and repair of their vehicle based on the manufacture schedule of requirements. Most of which are not followed by the owner. The average annual mileage of 12,000 miles comes from our insurance company, and the estimate from [redacted] is 67,000 miles for a vehicle of this age. The vehicle in question is 41,000 over this, which is considered high mileage. We have a very high repeat customer base and a great referral rate, which is a testament to our customer service and quality of workmanship. Our companys customer service stands on its own merit. We are a thriving successful business that made it through the big recession of which many businesses did not. Our [redacted]certified mechanics with over 20 years of experience state that a basic oil change cannot cause a rear main seal to fail. Facts of the matter is we did not cause the part to fail. We also have documentaion of business insurance from our agent and policy declaration from the insurance company, showing the consumers accusation of us not having insurance are untrue. [redacted] A turn of events that were sudden and not planned for. [redacted]   Sincerely, The Management, Fast Lane Lube Centers LLC
