Review: I took my car to this shop to have a headlight and indicator light installed into the right front side of my car. My old light and indicator needed to be replaced because they were falling out of their respective sockets. While the lights still worked, their positioning was skewed because of a dent in my bumper. The mechanics, [redacted], and his partner said it would cost me $40.I dropped my car off and went to pick it back up about 30 minutes later. When I returned to pick up my car, I was told that the light was not working. I asked why, and explained that when I dropped my car off, the light was working and it simply needed to be interchanged with the new one.[redacted] simply shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't know why it wasn't working, but that he was not going to pay for it. My boyfriend then asked [redacted] to turn on the car so we could see that it wasn't working, and [redacted] refused, saying he needed to be paid first before giving us the key. I then told him we needed to make sure it wasn't working before paying. [redacted] then started the car and we saw that the light was working. He then said the prong was not working and there was corrosion in the connector. I then asked him to repeat himself so I could make sure I heard him right, and then he refused, asking for my money. I asked for a written receipt of service, and he refused, saying just to give him the money. I told him I would not give him the money until I had a written receipt. I was eventually given one, and asked him to write down what was wrong with the light and he refused to again. I then began writing what it was I thought I heard him say and asked if that was correct and he said it was. However, when [redacted] refused to give us the key, my boyfriend asked him why and [redacted] began cursing at us and using expletives, such as the word "[redacted]" and calling us bad words in spanish. He also pushed up on my boyfriend, bumping him to coerce him to fight him. We eventually left after all the commotion and I had my receiptDesired Settlement: I believe, due to my experience that Herald may not be using legal business practices with his car business. The fact that he refused me a receipt and then refused to tell us what was wrong with the car makes me think this is a regular habit of his and he does this with other customers. I would like for his business to be investigated to make sure he is working legally and using appropriate business practices.Additionally, I would like a refund.
