Fastrip JetSki Rentals Reviews (14)

It is a company policy to record every inch of the ski before released into the water and after they are returned. The skis are not repaired with shoe polish or any water soluble paint but rather sent to a mechanic who uses fiberglass, which is a rigorous process that requires time and labor. As the recording had shown, the damage was not there before. Customers are always welcome to record and take their own photos as well.

Before putting our customers out on the water, we make sure they understand how to properly operate the watercraft. Mr. [redacted] was permitted to take his own photos and videos and ask questions during the inspection. We video recorded all aspects of the watercraft and will be sending you the documents in a separate file as they are too large to attach in just one file. I will also attach Mr. [redacted]'s waiver/contract in which he has agreed to be held fully responsible for the rentals while under his possession and has agreed to pay for all damages that may occur. As for Mr. [redacted] statement regarding our impellers condition and comparing it to our jet skis condition, the jet ski doesn't have to be brand new to contain a new impeller blade. We replace our blades as soon as they are damaged because it puts too much stress on the engine, and may cause it to blow up. New impeller blades can cost anywhere from $100-$500 depending on the brand and where you buy it from. However when we were settling this with you, we took the jet ski downtime and the labor into account. No one works for free. We had to replace the blades, and we had to pay for the repairs. Thank you, [redacted]

Good Afternoon Ms, Ro[redacted], after I spoke to you regarding the above mention case I left a voice message to Ms,[redacted] as she did not answer the phone and then I sent her the email as well ,as I need some info regarding the complaint filed against Fastrip Jet Ski Rental. with your agency to as...

The marks were not visible because they WERE covered with a white substance.  The video shows everything clear, then in the area in question, you can see it's rough and not as in focus as the rest of the video.  They cover up the marks when you first go out and when the water washes it off they charge you.   We did not damage the ski and took extreme care of it.  I could see if we were the only family this happened to.... But there are over 60 complaints on [redacted] regarding this same practice.  When we left they were renting our skis to the next family to be scammed.  I'm sure there are many many more that people just accept their fees, but when I know I didn't do it- I have a problem with that!!!

I understand what I signed.  What I want is the towing expense back because I did not ask for a tow.  There was nothing I did that required the boat to be towed.  I was initially told that I could call and someone would bring gas if I needed it.  When I called that's what I asked for.  I was not completely out of gas when I made the first call.  I assumed that someone was coming with gas because that was the reason for my call.  When he showed up without gas I had no choice but to have him tow the boat back.  I was told someone was coming with gas.

water. The jet skis were inspected before dropping them off on the water with Mr. [redacted], and he had signed the sheet after the inspection indicating that he had acknowledged that the impeller blades were brand new. Upon return of the ski, another inspection was done and two impeller blades were damaged. After showing Mr. [redacted] the blades, he agreed that they were damaged and tried asking what the cost to repair the blades were. He believed it would only cost $30-$40 a piece. According to the contract/waiver each impeller costs $300+tax+labor, however because the blades were repairable and not completely gone, we tried negotiating with Mr. [redacted]. He was informed that the blades would be sent to Las Vegas to be repaired because the watercraft would not be able to function with such damages. He tried exclaiming that since the impeller wasn't completely gone, it would still function at it's normal capacity, which is not true. That will take hours off of the engine and cause the ski to slow down and maybe even blow up the engine. Mr. [redacted] did not want to negotiate and left the store.

Went in to cash in my scratch cards and buy my son a drink. I'm new to bullhead so therefore I'm unfamiliar with the stores and such. I read the soda machine and it said 89 cent any size.well as kids like to do he saw a frozen drink machine and decided that's what he wants. So fill it up go to the register, I handed the man (maza) I think is his name my scratchers that's worth $11 and he never told me how much the drink was and hands me $7 and some change. I asked him how much the drink was $2.99 I was in shock and explain to him any size 89 cents. He rudely mutters no and takes me to the machine ant points to the price like I'm an it. I said I don't want please refund my money. He told me no he can't do anything with the drink so I can dump it but won't give me my money back. What a jerk. I can't believe they have stayed in business this long something must be done.

Fastrip is breaking federal law by renting jetskis that are not equipped with a personal sound making device ( like a whistle ). After bringing this to fastrips attention they had zero concern for the ticket I received from a federal officer. Do not rent from fastrip.
http://[redacted]?

This guy is a person who should be in any business he discramintes black and white people also people in uniform who give him protection .we rented a jet ski which died in middle of the lake where all the boats and jet ski fly by you ..I was able to get help from a police officer to pull me to the shore and tha discorved that the battery terminal was totally corrode and the wire fell down which could have coursed a explosion or someone would have ran me over with a boat or jetski .when call to get this looked at by me the owner of the jetski company instructse to clean the terminal and try to start it , This is the reason you rent stuff so when call it not working they will tell you on the phone to stuff where some who does no gets hurt or killed.I would this business to be closed or lall water vessels pulled out and inspected by a Federal Agency

Scam stay away at all costs!
As you can see from many reviews of [redacted], [redacted] Reviews, and Revdex.com there have been many poor innocent family vacations ruined by greed and this scam has been going on since 2009. It ruined our family vacation.
I was told the Jet Skis would be $200 for the day, then it went up to $260 since he didn't have the correct ones I reserved the night before. I reserved One older and One Newer Ski and was told on the phone it would be $200 and held it with a credit card the night before. When I got there the next day those Jet Skis I reserved where not the ones ready.
I knew my family was excited and waiting for me on the river. In then took another 30-45 minutes to inspect the Jet Skis and get the trailer. They did not have the correct cord extension to safely plug the 4 prong adapter into my truck so that the turn signals, and brake signals worked. I waited 30 minutes while one of the guys went to look and there was no solution.
When we returned the scam started from the moment we came back.
[redacted] told us both Jet Skis were damaged beyond repair. He has now charged me $660 for something that should have been under $200. He said they were so badly damaged that he would need to replace the props on both Jet Skis, they would be out for a week, then he said how he is going to send them to Las Vegas to get them rebent, his story was so all over the place to try to confuse me. He was really upset that I questioned him and brought up how when I just googled his name over 40 complaints of this same scam he blew up in my face. He said he cant keep all his customers happy and that everyone lies, that it is only his competitors that write those reviews.
I found brand new Props/Impellers on [redacted], [redacted] and 3 other sites for $130 each. I didnt understand how it was going to be $600 when I just found them brand new for $260. Nothing was making sense.
Then I found a picture of another person online using the same Jet Ski and same Model number the next day. Wow! He told me it would be out of the shop for a week for repair. Liar, Scammer and just a bad person. Really sad that so many honest hard working person have fallen to his scam.
I have since reached out to the two local news stations, 15 other [redacted] Members who have had the exact same experience, the Revdex.com, The Mayor, and [redacted] as well as the [redacted].
My hope is that he is no longer able to scam and ruin countless hard working families vacations by his greedy scam.

Review: On Tuesday June 23rd I rented two Yahama Jet Skis (Model numbers [redacted]) from Fast Trip also known as http://fastripjetski.com/ or [redacted] located at [redacted] The experience with this business ruined my families vacation.

I called the day before June 22nd and spoke with [redacted] who told me on the phone it would be $75 for one (older Jet Ski) and $125 for the other (newer Jet Ski ). I went in the next day and spoke with [redacted] (the owner) and wanted to rent an advertised ($75 all day) Jet Ski as well as a newer jet ski ($125) however when I went in [redacted] said he didn’t have both of them on the same trailer as I had requested the night before on the phone with [redacted] who reserved the jet skis for me. This was the whole point of the reservation was to “Hold” the two Jet Skis I requested with a $100 deposit. This was the first issue. He offered me a “better deal” to get both of the newer ones for $260 out the door including tax and fees. Knowing my family was anxiously waiting I agreed. This was around 9AM when I arrived.

I went to get our life vests and then proceeded to check out and inspect the jet skis. At this point it felt like something was off. The gentleman helping me was taping everything with a camera including the back “prop” which I knew little about. Other than the obvious visible damages (scratch on the front and back of the Jet Ski) I didn’t know what else he was showing me. I have rented many Uhual Trucks in my life and I have always walked around the truck to look for damages, notate it on a drawing, but I have never been asked to check under the hood. He told me to go down and look at the prop/impeller with a flash light. At this point I really didn’t know what I was supposed to be looking for. I even said to him I have no idea what I am looking for. All I know is that it looks like it is spinning and it works. He showed me 3 times and tried to explain what I was looking for. I still did not clearly understand as it was hard to see to the point where a flash light was needed, but didn’t help.

This was our first family vacation we have ever been on which included my wife, daughters 4/6 and son 19 months. My biggest goal was to get back to the river and onto the water. However there was a delay from the start. They did not have the proper cord to extend the 4 prong plug that goes into the light plug on my truck so that your left/right blinkers and brakes work on the trailer. I waited around for 30 minutes and requested a new trailer which was not offered to me. There was no other option available and I felt like the safety of myself driving would be limited by no working lights on the trailer. The gentleman went to another warehouse and searched and searched. The whole thing took me about 2 hours from start to finish after going through so many hoops to get on the road. I was now leaving around 12PM

At the river the [redacted] worked. We did have a fun time, however it took me nearly 3 hours from the hotel [redacted] to the [redacted] and back. He did remind us to only start the jet skis in waist high water and I have used other jet skis in the past so I was familiar with this. We also had a larger group so it was easy to have other family members help push the Jet Skis from the booey that the where docked to the whole day out to the river.

When I returned around 6PM the whole experience seemed like it was so scripted or as if I was on a TV show like “What would you do” I felt so hopeless and stressed it ruined my entire vacation.

I returned with the jet skis and when I pulled up [redacted] came up and asked how our day was. I told him how we had a great time and not even within a minute that’s when the scam started. He said we have a big problem. There is damage to the props. (This was the first place he went to look not even a minute into me returning) Do you remember earlier how we showed you with a flash light both props, well they are both damaged, and this is not good? I was so confused from the moment I returned. As a small business owner myself for over 7 years I always treated things I borrow or rent with the same level of respect that I would want someone to treat my equipment with. (I own a photobooth company that I rent out for parties and events)

He told me to go to the office (which is a [redacted] gas station) I remained calm the whole time and he tried to explain that both props were damaged beyond repair and would need to be replaced. I stopped right there and started asking him questions. I said I didn’t understand and I would like to see what he is talking about since I am not clearly understanding what a prop/impeller does or how it works. I am not mechanical at all. I also reminded him that everything worked fine all day. I asked [redacted] to wait so that I can go down and see them take the Props out of the jet skis myself and inspect them so that I can understand clearly and visibly where the damage occurred. At this point he explained that it is normally $1200 to fix but he would cut me a deal and offer to fix them both for only $600 like he was doing me a favor. I didn’t understand how these were so damaged that they needed to be replaced because the jet skis worked all day. I said I am not clearly understanding because they worked all day and we had no issues at all. Even now the prop still spins. When I came back in he showed me that they still spun, but that there was clear damage beyond repair.

The part that really upset me was that his mechanics removed the props in about 5 minutes without me there. I have no idea if they swapped them out in that time because I was not there as I had requested. I told him I really didn’t like that he did that without me being there as I requested. He then said he had to bring a mechanic back on his shift, and pay him extra, again like this was all my fault to dare question him.

He explained to me he chooses to replace them each time he sees any sign of wear so that he can get another 1000 hours out of the engines. He told me that he normally can get 4000 hours but by replacing them he will get more us of the Jet Skis and with that type of damage they would be off the water for at least a week since he sends the prop/impeller to a repair place in las Vegas that is the only place who can rebend them back into shape and that it takes a week at least turn around. 2 days there, 1-2 days repair, 2 days back. I still didn’t understand because the definition of damage is “physical harm caused to something in such a way, usefulness, or normal function.”

Neither of there were true.

1- The jet ski was still useful and worked the whole day

2- The jet ski functioned normally throughout the day.

I was also so confused because at first he said they needed to be replaced, and now he said he has another option to have them rebend. He was so all over the place as to confuse me nothing made sense.

I felt so hopeless like there was nothing I can do. I have never felt this hopeless in my life, I wanted to do the right thing, but there was no way we caused this kind of damage. At this point I looked up his business name on my cell phone and the first 3 things that came up where [redacted], [redacted], and a complaint against him online.

I quickly read over 30 complaints that this scam has been going on since 2009 and has involved many people who have said the same exact things as me [redacted] I also looked on [redacted] reviews to find similar complaints. Some the same exact story.

This whole time I remained calm with him, never raised my voice, was being 100 percent respectful. He was saying things to try to break me or get me to just give in but I still knew something was not right. I told him I have 3 kids waiting on me and he responded that he has 4 kids and that he is a Christian Man. How one of the girls working there was fasting that day and that he would never screw someone over.

At this point I called my cousin [redacted] who is a mechanic (who has worked on jet skis, boats, etc) and he helped me to clearly understand what a prop/impeller does as well as if [redacted] is correct that it was “damaged” to the point where it had no use or not normal functioning. He then advised me to look up the part online to see the pricing.

I confronted [redacted] about his [redacted] reviews and he got SOOO upset. He yelled, and said that that’s [redacted] that his competitors are the ones who post them and I explained as a business owner only [redacted] who have been on the site with other reviews stick. If someone goes on just to open a profile, makes one complaint and then never uses [redacted] again there review comes down. He got so upset he cursed at me and said he services 4000 customers a day, he can’t keep everyone happy.

There were around 5-8 employees with him the whole time inside his store, who kept making little jabs, and comments the whole time, like how can I be saying this, making me feel bad about myself for question him. I asked him to step outside so I can understand this better. I felt so bullied and defeated like I had committed a crime but I still knew I did nothing wrong.

I told him that per my cousins advice [redacted] that I looked up the model and found the same prop he was saying would cost $300-$600 each for $135 on three websites including [redacted] I said I am not understanding if you can get two brand new ones for $270 and it only took them 5 minutes to put them back in (same as they took them out) then why are you charging me $300 more and he said it was his mark up. At this point I just said this doesn’t sound right, I am not ok with this. They are not damaged to the point where they don’t work and things that get rented get used so they are not going to be the same as when you buy a new car and own it. I told him I am not ok with it.

By this time it was close to 8:30PM and I had been there for over 2 hours. I wanted to do the right thing but everything I tried to bring up clearly was not good enough for him. At the last moment he said he would settle with me for $350 and help me out. I couldn’t I just knew it wasn’t right so I had to walk away.

I got back to the hotel and my kids had been in [redacted] which is a babysitting service that will watch your kids. My wife had a bad headache and I told her it would take me about an hour tops to return them. It ended up being a total of over 3.5 hours round trip (cost me $90.54) for my kids to be in there that long.

That whole night my trip was ruined I couldn’t stop stressing about something that I thought at first would be $200 now costing me over $800 and knowing I did nothing wrong.

The next day I reached out to 10 people on [redacted] to ask about their experience and I was shocked to find a review the very next day with a picture of their family on the river with the SAME EXACT JET SKI! (Serial number [redacted]) we were told would be in the shop for a week because it was Damaged. I also have a picture of his review as well as his wife and son on the same Jet Ski.

The sad part is that this man, and his company, his scam, the fraud, has ruined a lot of family vacations. The worst part was feeling hopeless. Feeling like I could do nothing. Knowing there are so many honest hard working people like myself who will normally just go away because they are from out of town, and don’t want to have to deal with the stress, anxiety, and time that I have now invested in this horrible fraudulent experience that is clearly a scam.

My hope is that enough people complain that he is no longer allowed to operate a Jet Ski business in bullhead city.

Please feel free to contact me anytime at: [redacted]Desired Settlement: With all the stress, time, and unrest with how I was treated I would like to request the amount we have been charged $660

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This response does not help me to resolve the issues at hand:1- The first issue is that I requested another set of Jet Skis the night before with[redacted]. When I arrived they did not have the correct Jet Skis. 2- The second issue was the process. I explained clearly to the person who checked meout that I was not sure at all what he was showing me as far as the flash lightand what I was looking for on the Prop. He turned the Jet Ski on and showed meit started and that a prop in the back Spun. I agreed. I explained 3 times I didn’tunderstand what I am looking for. He said do you see it spinning and I saidyes. 3- There was no Orientation or video or class or anything as stated above. 4- They did not have the proper trailer or plug that matched a standard 4 prong and 7prong light plug that is standard on every truck with a trailer hitch. So thelights on the trailer did not function5- [redacted] above stated “he had acknowledged that the impeller blades were brand new” [redacted] was never there for theinspection and two issues. A) There would be no way that I would know the impeller blades where brand new since it was not a new Jet Ski. So that statement is a lie. B) The gentleman checking me out said they had been on the water before as there were a few scratches that I noted on the inspection sheet. Again a lie to say I knew they were brand new. At the point where [redacted] said the Prop/Impeller were so damaged that they needed to be replaced I looked up the Prop/Impeller for that year make and model. I found them online for $135 on three websites including [redacted]. I said to him I am not sure why you would charge me $600 for something when you can buy them online for $270 and he said “that is our markup”This is the point where I looked up [redacted] and saw over 30 others complain between [redacted] Reviews on other sites. When I mentioned this he raised his voice, yelled and said he cant keep every customer happy. I said all of these reviews are exactly what you are doing to me right now this is clearly a scam. He got so upset and raised his voice. When I left the shop the Prop/Impeller Spun and when I returned it Spun. That is all that I acknowledged. That it still worked and was not damaged. We were able to use the Jet Skis all day without any issues. He insisted that it was damaged specifically by me suddenly he went to another story that the blades were repairable and not completely gone. I did not agree with either because the props clearly spun. This company Fast Trip Jet Ski Rentals is in the business of rentals. When something goes out every time it will have normal wear and tear that is the nature of a rental business. We took extra good care of his equipment and followed all the suggestions as stated on our sheet. It would then be absurd to assume that the Jet Skis would come back in better condition then they went out or add to the life of the engine hours.I am most upset that he told me that the damage was so bad that the Jet Skis would be out of commission for at least 1-2 weeks due to the fact that the Prop/Impeller had to be shipped to Las Vegas, repaired, and then shipped back. His statement above said “because the watercraft would not be able to function with such damages” The next day I went on [redacted] and found a picture of the same exact Jet Ski and Model Number [redacted] on the water with a mom and son. I even messaged and confirmed that the person who wrote the reviewrented the [redacted] on Thursday June 25th, 2015. This was 2 days after the “Damage” occurred that was supposed to put them out of the shop for 1-2 weeks. Another lie.[redacted] also stated above that “That will take hours off of the engine and cause the ski to slow down and maybe even blow up the engine” That is the nature of a rental company. They are not personal items that are used by you. You take a risk when you rent something out but to ask someone to pay for Damage that was not done is fraud and a scam. This is clearly a Scam that [redacted] has perfected. Even the lady before me was charged for “outside damages” on the Jet Ski and she just agreed. Since I refused to back down he was clearly upset. At the end he offered to give me a “deal”on the repairs. The whole thing was such a Scam and the lies where so many that he even had to catch himself a few times. First they are damaged and need to be replaced, then they can be repaired in Las Vegas. It was so all over the place it was something I had no choice but to walk away from and that is exactly what I did. He was just upset because I didn’t give in and roll over like so many others have in the past. At this point for with all the stress, time, and unrest with how I was treated, lied to, and scammed like many others before me I would like to request the amount I have been charged which was $660. This is the only resolution to my request. My biggest hope is that enoughpeople complain and [redacted] is no longer allowed to operate a Jet Ski Rental Business in Bull Head City. Please feel free to contact me anytime at [redacted]Thank you for your time and I hope [redacted] learns from this lesson and makes me whole by returning funds that were unauthorized and fraudulent. The case is currently under investigation.

Response:

Review: This place is a scam. My friends and I rented two jetskis. I paid for my own. We found this place online because we thought it was a good deal. It was $75 during the week and when we got there it said $65 all over the signs. We went on the weekend and they said it would be $125 plus gas which would end up being $150. They told us we needed to hold the jetski for $50 and when we came in, we would need to have a $200 refundable deposit ready as well. We did the inspection with them and they guy briefly mentioned there were new blades installed. So anyway, we used it all day and I follow them back at that point I waited for an hour for them to process whatever they needed to and get my deposit back. I asked the young girl at the counter if everything was okay with my return of the jetski. She said my friends' jetski had a rock in it and mine was fine. Eventually, I was told that I had damaged the impeller and they were going to take my deposit and charge me extra for the damage to both me and my friends. Kind of weird how they said it was okay and then all of the sudden, they found some damage to charge me for. I mentioned that it was my birthday and they gave me a discount but it honestly felt like I was being haggled and they didn't even care and that they do this type of this all the time. When he was going over the cost of the damages, I looked up about 20 different reviews on [redacted].[redacted] how they charge you for the 'damages'. This just isn't right. Below is a link for all the reviews I read:

[redacted]://[redacted].[redacted].[redacted]-*Desired Settlement: I would love to get a full refund but I will settle for getting my security deposit back for $200.

Review: On June 3, 2015 my family and I rented jet skis from Fastrip Jet Skis for our summer vacation. The owner went around the jet skis and boat with an [redacted]ilming each one. We left the store at 10:00 am and at 2 we called them to pick up the jet skis because we wanted to all go on the boat together. The guy that came to pick up the jet skis was not involved with the inspection in the morning - but said he wanted to show us something. It was a scratch in the fiberglass. We said we didn't do that and it had to be there. He left and we decided not to stay out any longer because we might be blamed for more damage on the boat. We called and asked to be picked up to address the issue. When we got back the guy(the one that did inspection) said we still had 4 hours. We said we wanted to address the scratch we were being blamed for. He walked up to the jet ski and went right up to where the scratch was. He got out a tape measure and said it's 4 inches. We went back inside and he pulled out the contract and said its $75 for each inch and he was going to charge up $300. I said please... we were so careful I know we didn't damage them. He said ok, "I don't want to lose your business and I will charge you $150. We argued back and forth and then he said maybe the kids did it. I told him that wasn't possible because they NEVER drove them. On the video he showed us, it was a weird angle and the fiberglass surface was not smooth. We ended up paying and left. When I got back to the hotel I did a [redacted] search on the business and found 60+reviews on [redacted] about how they had done the same thing to others... Almost the exact same story. Unfortunately, some were charged a bunch more. They paint over the scratches with shoe polish or any water soluble paint. When the water hits it the scratch is revealed. These people are crooks and I can't believe how shady they can be. We had looked forward to this trip for months- we got conned and had to cut the trip short because of them blaming us for something we did not do. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thank you for your time!!! [redacted]Desired Settlement: I want the FULL amount refunded. We wanted to stay and enjoy the entire day and had to cut it short because of being blamed for something we DID NOT do.

Response:

It is a company policy to record every inch of the ski before released into the water and after they are returned. The skis are not repaired with shoe polish or any water soluble paint but rather sent to a mechanic who uses fiberglass, which is a rigorous process that requires time and labor. As the recording had shown, the damage was not there before. Customers are always welcome to record and take their own photos as well.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
