Fat Boy's Powerwashing

Review: Fat Boys contracted with us to power-wash and stain all the decks at our side-by-side duplex (4 small back decks and one large common front deck) and he recommended a stain and color different than we requested. He said the work would last 10 years or more. We took his advice on materials and work was "completed" in Fall 2012. Within 1 year all decks were pealing, some very badly. Fat Boy Jim responded to my phone call and came to inspect the decks in Fall 2013. He stated that there was a big problem with the job, that he felt the product was defective and he would contact the manufacturer of the stain and arrange to make good on the job. (I doubt the stain was the problem, but rather the quality of the workmanship.) I have not heard from him since then, and now he has failed to reply to numerous phone calls.Desired Settlement: Either complete the work satisfactorily, or provide a full refund of $4000 and I will have someone else do the work.

I am rejecting this response because:Silly comments about inappropriate action on my part notwithstanding, work on my side of the property has re-done to my satisfaction. I cannot speak for the owners of the other side of the condo.

Review: In October 2012, I entered into a contract with Fat Boys to power wash my siding and 3 decks, and to stain the 3 decks for an agreed-upon price of $1100.00. The owner of Fat Boys, [redacted], stated that since he was power washing the decks, he could 'throw in' the cleaning of the siding at no addt'l cost. After power washing the siding and the 3 decks, and staining 1 of the 3 decks, Mr. [redacted] requested $250 in additional funds (total of $1350), stating that he underbid the job due to the fact that the deck wood soaked up the stain; these additional funds were to be used to purchase additional stain. I agreed to the additional amount, and paid Mr. [redacted] a total of $1200 in cash. Mr. [redacted] stained 2 of the 3 decks prior to the end of October, 2012. I agreed that the staining of the third deck and clean up of the siding (stain was present on the siding) could be completed in the spring. I called repeatedly (14 times from February through June), and Mr. [redacted] stated that the job would be completed the following week. The job has not yet been completed.Desired Settlement: Refund of $450. The job of staining and power washing the three decks totaled $1350.00, which equals $450 per deck. Two decks have been stained. The refund amount of $450 is due to me as the third deck has not been completed, and the clean up of the siding has also not been completed. I believe this is a very reasonable refund.

I would never go to this company again. He Comes when ever he pleased. Promised to do work that never was done. Just disappointed and disrespected. Horrible work ethic. Would NEVER recommend to anyone
