Review: On 4/5/2013 We recently purchased a vehicle from Faulkner Buick GMC in [redacted].We are [redacted]. Residents. We used our family van as a trade in. When it came time to take our plates with us so we could transfer them and the registration we were told we couldn't and were charged $450. for this processing fee. Unknowningly while we were there our insurance agent tried to explain to the dealer to release our plates to us that we can register the vehicle when we get home they refused. It wasn't until we got home and speaking with our insurance co. that we were being miss lead buy the car dealer. We proceeded on Monday April 8th. we sent a email to the dealer that sold us the vehicle ([redacted])to please return our plates and a check for $450. We then called our DMV in [redacted]. to find out that we are going to be charged $8 a day for everyday the plates are not being turned in and we need to get them back that the dealer is inviolation of [redacted] law of the DMV. We also contacted the Attoreny Generals office in **. who reccommened we file accomplaint with you immmidately. We also filed a police report with our local Sheriffs Dept. as per a recommedation of our other insurance agent because we were told by the dealer on 4/9 when they called about the situation that they did not know at this time where the plates to the van were that they could not find them.Being a NYS correction officer and working out of town the car dealer calling my wife and arguing with her on 4/15 about how they were going to register the vehicle and how we could not is totally uncalled for and unprofessional.We also have copies of transactions and emails to forward. Please call us for any extra info. We would like to prevent this from happening to anyone else.[redacted]. Please call us we can only mail copies or fax supporting documents.Desired Settlement: Our Plates to be returned and a refund for $450.
