Fazio Automotive Paint Job From [redacted]! BUYER BEWARE OF [redacted] and [redacted]!!!!!!

In hindsight, I never should have answered a Craigslist ad posted by the Fazio Automotive body man [redacted]. He came out to my shop, and wrote a lowball contract to do bodywork and paint my 1962 Corvette on 06-13-2013. He promised to fix all the fiberglass cracks and repaint it to “look like glass” for $3,800, but wrote the contract for $3,500 so that he could keep the difference. That should have been a clue. First he wanted cash to do the work under the Fazio’s name. Another clue. Then he wanted more and more cash to do a back door job at the Fazio Automotive shop located at 2037 N. Farwell in Milwaukee, WI. He loaded my beautiful Corvette onto a flatbad on 06-15-2013 with a promise of having it done in 6-8 weeks. That would be the end of July to mid August to be finished. The first big lie!

After week after week of unanswered calls and emails, I visited the Fazio Automotive shop to find out that he started work on a new project instead. After many more promises and assurances of “next week” and “I will be painting the car this weekend”, I learned that I had been scammed by a mediocre bodyman that was in way over his head. After being 6-8 weeks past the deadline (16 weeks and counting), I contacted the manager who knew nothing about the back door job his bodyman brought in, or the deal that [redacted] made on a Fazio’s work order. Work restarted and paint was sprayed, only to find dust, dirt, drips, and hair in the paint! When confronted with the shoddy work, [redacted] threatened to “throw all the parts in the car and push it to the curb”. My 50+ thousand dollar car! He then has the gall to tell me he wants another $1500, but can’t account for any expenses. I refused to pay a conman price that was being inflated because of his inability to know how to write a bid (also known as a signed contract). The manager set a new deadline of 10-26-2013, but only for me to endure 6 more weeks of broken promises and blown deadlines. He even acknowledged that his shop is supposed to get written customer approval of price increases, which never happened. I then received a call from the “Shop Proprietor” [redacted] who told me over and over that he knew nothing about the Craigslist job that HIS bodyman had in HIS shop. [redacted] assured me repeatedly that he would make things right and that he would “take care of” me and that I would be very happy. More lies. His [redacted] laden phone call was something else! Week after week went by with more blown deadlines and calls were unanswered by Fazio, or were pawned off on the manager to respond to.

Finally, at week 27 of the Fazio Automotive Paint Job From [redacted], I received a call that the car would be done in a day or two. Another lie. No call for another week (#28) only to learn that the amazing [redacted] “creased the fender” and needed to strip, fiberglass, repaint, and clearcoat again! When asked about the impending bill, and the $1200 I owe to end this misery, the manager tells me that [redacted] now wants another $2400. I dispute the increase and am told that Fazio now threatens to take my car and put it into storage (at $25/day) until I pay what sounds like extortion to me. [redacted] ends the call with an [redacted] to his customer. (Great recording of the call!) Upon final inspection, the car is messed up with loose headlights, scratches, missing hood prop, missing antenna parts, uninstalled trim pieces, and more. Thanks for returning an unfinished classic car to a customer in the dead of winter, in a 29 weeks fiasco, at a marked-up price not in the contract! [redacted]. would be ashamed of what his son has done to this shop.

BUYER BEWARE OF [redacted] and [redacted]!!!!!!

Review: Fazio took 6 weeks and 6 seperate visits to repair my cars brakes. Each time I came back they make my brake system worse and could not find the problem. I had to take my car to a different garage to solve the problem. They also did not perform tasks I had asked, for example: rotated tires, oil change, and clean the oil stained cloth seats from which they stained during previous visits. The owner ([redacted]) also got extremely hostile with me when I asked him if they could clean the oil from my car seat. He blamed me and stormed off. The mechanic later admitted he had made this mistake and not use plastic on the seats. During the brake repair they forgot to place the caliper/break pad clip which caused a loud clanky sound while I drove. The repairs and service were the worst experience of my life and hope no one goes thru this, the company should be pulled all together.Desired Settlement: The company needs to be checked over with good detail. They are up charging major car repairs and the quality is very poor. There is also unnecessary car repairs being made to increase customer cost. Fazio Auto is taking advantage of customers every day.

I spent $1700 for brakes, far too much.

Review: I took my car to Fazio's before a long road trip. I let the service representative, [redacted], know that I was driving to Nashville and needed to make sure my car was road-ready. I explained that my car had been making a growling noise, and that was my main concern. I was told that a full inspection would be done on my car for roughly $70.00. If they found something wrong with my vehicle, the fee would be waived. I received a call back a few hours later, saying that my shocks/struts needed to be replaced. I asked if this was detrimental for my trip and was told yes. The service would cost around $400.00. An hour later, I received another call. [redacted] said that the alternator also needed to be replaced. I asked him how much that would cost. $439.00. Both repairs would total over $800.00, which I did not have the money for at the time. I asked him what I should do. He said that the alternator was the more important issue and that the shock/struts would just make a noise which was more of a cosmetic issue. I find that to be odd because, hours before, I was told this shock/strut service needed to be done for my safety.

I had my alternator repaired at Fazio’s and picked up my vehicle $439.00 for services rendered to make my car safe for my trip. After picking up my car, the noise was still there. I honestly don't know much about cars. I thought that it just needed to work itself out. Fazio's told me that the alternator was what was making the noise. They replaced the alternator. I trusted that this was the work that was needing to be done.

Four days later, on my way back from Nashville, my car lost power on the highway, which was absolutely terrifying. I maneuvered the vehicle off the highway and had to get it towed to the nearest Firestone. Towing to Firestone was $87.40. At Firestone, I was told that the issue was the tensioner pulley. It was severely worn. I was told that this would not have worn over the last four days. It took 2 hours, and only $165.90 for Firestone to complete this repair. When I hopped in my vehicle, the noise was gone. This far less expensive repair was, in fact, what needed to be fixed. Fazio's failed to see that this pulley was the cause of the noise, they failed to test my vehicle to make sure that the noise was gone from the alternator they "replaced". I feel mislead by Fazio's. It seems that they found the repair with the biggest price ticket, told me that was the thing that "needed" to be fixed, and overlooked something severely wrong with my vehicle. I trusted them to have my car road-ready for a long trip when they said it was.

My drive home was delayed several hours, resulting in me needing to pull over and get a hotel room at 1:45 am at the Best Western in Gurnee, IL. My room total was $87.69. I called Fazio's the day that I returned from my trip. I provided them with the explanation, receipts, and the worn pulley. [redacted] said that he would get back to me that day. I had to call several times and, 8 days later, was finally given the only option that they would take money off of my next service at Fazio's.

I feel that I was misled, taken advantage of, and worst of all, the situation was not remedied at all putting me into a dangerous and even more expensive position. It is clear that Fazio's does not care about customer service, but, rather, the highest financial gain they can get from a customer.Desired Settlement: As a result of the negligent nature of the service I received at Fazio’s, I was put in a very dangerous, costly, and inconvenient situation. I would like a refund of 100% of the amount that I spent with Fazio’s for the “repair” which may or may not have been necessary as it did not remedy the actual cause of the problem with my car. Additionally, I would like to be reimbursed for the total of the unnecessary $340.99 that I was forced to spend for towing, hotel, and repair as a result of the gross oversight of Fazio’s auto repair staff and the inadequate service that I received in getting my car “road-ready”.

Dear Revdex.com,

Here is my story with that garage.??4 months ago, I had problem in my car which is Audi A4. It was not big problem just shaking and little sound. I drove it to that garage because its near to my apartment. ??First of all, they told me you have to pay $100 to check it. I said OK and I paid then they told me that there are codes on the check but if you like to do cleans "something like clean the engine" that will be fine and its cost about $600, I said OK do it. I was thinking I will be done after that clean. "$700"??After few days, they told me you have to change to converter and the dealership price is high we can bring it from another place and cost about $1400. I said OK do it. After few days again, they told me the car is fine and smoothed. I was very happy to get it fix after spending thousands of dollars. When I drove it, it was not fine at all and the sound and shaking more . I drove it again to the garage and they told me the converter was not good on the car and we need to change them and you have to pay the different which was $600. I said OK but I need it very soon because I have a way to New York. "$2000"??In the day I have to go NY witch was in the end of May they told me you that you can not drive the car because there is a problem in the transmission and clutch. "The car was drivable and after spending about $2700 it is not" I said OK how much its cost they said that there is used one on IL and cast about $3200. I told them to fix it and I was waiting for a month. "$3200"??After paying about $6000, the car FAIL on the 1st Emission Test because of converter, secondary air, and EVAP control. I will not fix it because I paid the car price 2 times and if so I will not drop it to that garage.??The End
