Review: I was attending the [redacted] football game this past two Saturdays ago and my car was in the process of being towed after I came back from a 20 minute dinner at a pizza place near Fraternity Row. The tow driver was just pulling out of the parking lot and I asked politely if I could have my car dropped right there. He stated that it would be a $150 on the spot or I could have it towed back to the company's premises and still pay $150. I was frantic, and being an out-of-towner, I did not know what lawful amount they could charge because I just wanted my car back. I felt fishy about paying so much for the drop and I researched the fees that could be charged from the city council website. I found out that I only could be charged $100 so I called the manager to try to go over the applicable fees but all he stated was that it was a "full drop fee" which was no where in the city council fee sheet. After politely asking the man to explain where I could find the charge on the Charlottesville charge sheet, he angrily told me he had other customers to attend to and workers to pay so he hung up on me. I live in Williamsburg and am a [redacted] student so it is almost impossible to make the additional trip over to possibly have this settled face to face so I inquired to the police station and the officer told me this company receives many complaints a year and they are known for shady business. This is why I am reaching out to you all to assist me in remedying the situation.Desired Settlement: I would like 50 dollars back into my bank account because that 50 dollar charge was not applicable anywhere on the fee/charge sheet of Charlottesville. Also, if the company could precisely and explicitly tell me the charges that legally amounted to $150, that would be great.
