F.C. Kerbeck: Rude, uneducated about cars, math and manners
A post appointment phone texting stalk, became a situation that got worse and possibly dangerous as it went on. Be aware of Paul if you are buying a car here.

My daughter found a Jeep online. She made an appointment with Paul. This appointment was confirmed several times and set. When she arrived, he made little effort to greet her. That being said, Paul brought the Jeep around and took a test drive with her. During the drive, he was unable to answer basic questions with little more than an "I don't know" about the functions. Since Jeeps are hot at the moment, it would seem his attitude was to be an order taker, not build confidence in the sale. At one point, Paul tried to convince her that the drive train select for 4-wheel vs. 2-wheel was actually a standard shifter if she wanted to drive stick. Of course, she knows more about Jeeps and educated him that was the drive train selector. At this point it was beginning to be obvious, there was little respect for a 23-year-old woman buying her first car. It only gets worse from here.

My daughter was interested so they went back to his desk. After informing him she was pre-qualified at her own bank Paul tried to convince her to finance with F.C. Kerbeck. I don't know if they make sales incentive SPIFFs for getting the customer to finance in-house, but it was beginning to appear that way. Once negotiations started, she asked him to do better on price. With a laugh, he said "How do you expect me to do that?!".

It was around this time, another salesperson came over, took the key off the desk and showed the car to someone else... WHILE my daughter was still discussing buying it. An old and sad sales trick, only successful at the moment because Jeeps sell themselves. An honest sales staff would have no need for this kind of garbage. However, she said, go ahead. She was not playing into that game.

The numbers they presented using her financing were organized in a way to intentionally confuse a buyer as it relates to principal and interest. Divided into two columns with down payment being cryptic. At one point, not even listed until she asked him to add it. It was still unclear without running numbers ourselves if they were applying her down payment to principle or interest. His answer to her? "I don't do this. The computer does. I'm not really good at math." Clearly.

Paul apparently never learned any manners as well. He began to discuss with us how he gets paid, what his credit score is, what he can buy and how much money he makes. Of course, when my daughter walked by and admired a Bentley, he responded with "Bentley's aren't that great". Way to win hearts and minds of a future customer, Paul. As it became more obvious this deal was not going to happen, he was happy to get rid of my daughter.

Here is the sad part. In fact, the WORST THING I have ever heard of in 30 years of buying cars myself. After She left, Paul preceded to text my daughter. Not with a "Sorry this didn't work out. I will keep an eye out for something that will work for you." - No. it was "The woman, who looked at it while you were here just bought the jeep you wanted. She put down $10,000 and isn't playing games" He began to send more texts, which of course had to be blocked by my daughter. Never in my life have I heard of a salesman (I use that word loosely. Paul is an order taker in a hot market) taunting a potential buyer after the sale didn't go through.

Can you imagine what F.C. Kerbeck is doing in the background? Can you imagine the lack of ethics, training and staff expectation? I would never buy an apple here, let alone a car. Obviously, they won't care. As you can see, they don't respond to reviews. This is how they appear to do business. You have MANY choices. In my opinion, based on Paul's performance and disgusting follow-up, there is no need to include F.C. Kerbeck, if you value ethics, quality and character.

The week of January 21, 2019, I purchased a 2019 Buick Encore from this dealership. I live in Delaware and was told they would register my car and when the registration and tags were delivered to the dealership, they would mail them to my home so I would not have to make the trip back to the dealership. They gave me a 30 day, Out of State temporary tag and registration for my vehicle.

On March 4 (41 DAYS LATER), at my home, I received a post card from the dealership telling me the tags had arrived. I figured it would take a couple of days to get through the mail so when I hadn't received the tags by that Saturday, March 9, I called the dealership and was told that the tags had to have gone out because they weren't at the dealership. I let another couple of days go by and called again and was put through to the Buick sales manger who told me they "had to have gone out because they weren't at the dealership" but they would "investigate" and call me back. NO ONE EVER DID. I waited ANOTHER couple of days and called and spoke to Sales manager ROB in the Buick sales group who told me the same song and dance. I asked for the tracking number and information for the original mailing, was placed on hold, and when Rob came back, he told me he had spoken to the business office who ALLEGEDLY confirmed that the tags had been mailed BUT, out of an ABUNDANCE of caution, they would issue another temporary tag (because I was WELL BEYOND the 30 legal days at this point) and get it immediately out to me. NEVER HAPPENED! At this point, on MARCH 25, THREE WEEKS after being LIED TO THREE TIMES by the alleged MANAGEMENT of the Buick Dealership, I contacted my salesman, Joe in Buick. Joe has been the only person to ACTUALLY HELP! THREE MANAGERS HAD TOLD ME THEY HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN MAILED. Joe told me that he would have a new temp tag issued with a new registration and would have my registration fees reimbursed for all of my aggravation and I should expect a check with the new temp tag he was mailing to me. He said he was walking it to the business office himself and texted me a picture of the new temp tag and the new temp registration. I have the pics and texts on my phone!

He then texted me on Tuesday, March 26 to tell me the actual tags just arrived at the dealership! THAT PROVES THE LIES I WAS TOLD BY THE OTHER MANAGERS! Joe then said he spoke with the business office and would guarantee the mailing of the regular tags. However, I now have the issue of a second temp tag issued and I am STILL WAITING to get any mailing of any tags from the dealership!

They had NO PROBLEM cashing my down payment check! They had no problem SELLING me a new car. HOWEVER, after that, they could care less! I called three times and was LIED to three times. NONE OF THE MANAGERS I spoke with EVER PROVIDED any tracking information to PROVE they sent any tags. In fact, they could offer me ZERO proof the tags were ever actually ordered in the first place! And even NOW, Joe, my salesman, IS THE ONLY PERSON AT THE DEALERSHIP, who is even trying to actually help resolve the issue.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:FC Kerbeck sold this vehicle to me under the premise that the vehicle received a through multipoint inspection by an [redacted] certified technician and it had no mechanical issues upon delivery.
FC Kerbeck is incorrect stating that this characteristic is normal for this vehicle. First I have owned other [redacted] with a [redacted] engine and that vehicle did not have this characteristic. Secondly when this " charachteristic" was investigated by a factory authorized [redacted] dealer, using factory trained technicians and diagnostic equipment, the vehicle sold to me by FC Kerbeck was found to have a faulty ignition coil.
FC Kerbeck did offer to accept this car in return and refund my money for the purch[redacted] price of the vehicle only. I declined their offer since I have had the ignition coil replaced as well as other maintenance issues discovered by the authorized [redacted] dear that must not have been discovered in FC Kerbecks "multi point inspection by an [redacted] certified technician". This work had to be completed so the vehicle could be operated safely, without rough idle and stalling issues.  Also this work was completed prior to FC Kerbecks offer to refund the purch[redacted] price of the car
I will accept one of the following solutions:
FC Kerbeck reimburse me in full for the labor and material to replace the ignition coil and spark plugs, which resolved the rough idle. $600.00
or
FC Kerbeck refunds the the purch[redacted] price of the vehicle including tax, motor vehicle fees, document fees plus the total amount for all repairs  and maintenance performed on this vehicle in order for it to operate correctly and safely.

Review: On 5/08/2015 I put a $500 dollar deposit on a truck I was going to lease from Kerbeck. When I went back on 5/13/2015 to sign the paperwork they changed the price of the lease. I told them no and I cancelled the deal. They told me they would mail back my deposit. Since then I have called numerous times about my money being returned and they say we will check into it and call me back. I never get a return call. I have called at least 5 times and enough is enough.Desired Settlement: I want my $500 dollars returned to me.

Review: I purchased a 2002 [redacted] with 54272 miles from FC Kerbeck on October 29th 2015. The internet sales man Anthony [redacted] assured me that the vehicle had undergone a multi point mechanical and safety inspection by an [redacted] certified technician and that there no mechanical or safety issues with the vehicle.

While driving the vehicle home from the dealership that evening I noticed that the gas gauge was reading erratically and the car felt as if it was going to stall while idling. The dealership had closed by time I arrived home

I immediately called the dealership the next morning and notified Anthony [redacted] he made a service appointment to have the car checked for that Tuesday November 3rd.

The car was dropped off for Service Monday November 2nd. when picking up the car late Tuesday November 3rd I found the gas gauge was repaired although the rough idle was not corrected.

I returned to FC Kerbeck on Saturday November 7th and spoke with general sales manager [redacted] Mr [redacted] sat in the car to check it and admitted that the rough idle existed and said " its the computer adjusting the car to keep it from stalling". He asked " what do you want me to do?" and he also stated " they all run that way". The service engine soon light came on so

I made an appointment at [redacted] to have the issue checked and was told the engine had a history cose stored for an engine misfire and additional diagnostic and repair charges would be incurred to resolve the problem.

I would like FC Kerbeck to make the repair as it was discovered within minuites after the car was delivered

I asked that my specialty tags be transferred to this car and was told that my tags would be transferred rather than being issued new tags.

I received a postcard that the ducuments were ready to be picked up.

On Saturday November 7th I while at the dealership, the receptionist told me new tags were issued. I did not accept them as that was not what was agrred to.Desired Settlement: Repair vehicle misfire and properly transfer tags and registration

Review: I purchased a car 7/5/14 while driving home I noticed a crack in the windshield. I notified the salesman [redacted] he advised me to take it through inspection and they would fail it and the dealer would have to repair it. When I went to pick my registration up from the dealer I was told that I wouldn't have to go thru inspection. I inquired about the repair and was told to make an appt and bring it back. Took it back today and was told that they wouldn't repair it because the state didn't require them to repair it. If I would have known that I wouldn't have brought the car in the first place with a crack in the windshield.Desired Settlement: I would like the windshield replaced
