To respond to this claim (A) To install metal roof contract was for $not 12,(B) The house was sanded/primed and painted total $She gave a deposit /I am still owed that she has not paid as of 8-14-(C) There was no rotted wood on this house It is a very old house w/ oak saw mill lumber / When we install roof /board about 4" wide and in long split out on overhang and fell out/nothing was said about this until house was painted(D) She wanted halfround gutters put on/house has no fascia boards/There is no way to hang 1/round gutter without strap hangers w/rubber head screwsI have never saw gutter straps put on first / it will damage gutters(D) I have talked to this lady twice/ I have asked her numerous times if she has any leaks/ I have yet to get a response (E) The color that she picked out was a very thick guage metal/the house was an octagon house w/sides /where metal met/ to double seam it was almost impossible TO DO WITHOUT getting slip in metal/ a lesser guage would have been easier to work with/ I agree it does not look good where seams meet & I try to double seam it/ In same regards it is a story house built in 1700's/ We had at least or more people tell us how nice it looked (F) As far as chimney flashing/ We had nothing to work/ If u touched brick they would fall out/ We had to make up metal and screw it all together/u could not put nails in mortar as there was none (G) Yes my license had expired / since it has not been much work and I really thought I would have no problems / Been in business w/VA Class B license since THIS IS a job that I wish I had never taken on/ She was happy w/everything till it came time to give final for paint on house Here is what I am willing to do Original roof price was $I have only received half of -What is owed for painting Bal of I am will to refund this amount as long as this does not go any further / This lady is highly educated and has no understanding of what we run into in these old houses/ It is a jog I sincerly wish I would never undertaken/ I don't know where she thinks I owe her 10,000.00/or go to court U put on my paper that u talked to me on 6-14-on 7-7-on 7-11-U tell lady get her [redacted] stories straight/ I still have copy of my contract for the amounts Roof Paint 12,Sl She has paid me 10,so u do arithetic She either takes $or nothing I think this is more than fair F [redacted] Roofing I am yrs oldI will close my business & take bankruptcy / She will get Nothing

September 1, MrWayne F*,At this point in time, we realize we will not be able to have a properly completed roofing project as we hopedTherefore, all we can do is to recoup as much of the loss we have incurred, hope we don't have any problems with more added expenses until we can save up again to redo the project from scratch.Therefore, if you are indeed willing to honor the original contract for the entire project (including the painting), we would be willing to agree to the sameThis is despite the fact that painting project also had issues with being done correctlySo instead of opening up that whole other debate and negotiation, the simplest solution would be for both of us to take your suggestion, cut our losses and walk away-lesson learned by all.However, in order to be accurate in our dealings, we have to have the same starting pointTo date, we have paid Feathers & Sons, $12,for the entire roofing project and $deposit for the paintingThe remainder for the $painting project that we have yet to pay is $If you subtract that outstanding balance from the original cost the final amount refunded should be $10,123.Therefore, as soon as Feathers & Sons refunds this correct amount, we will all be clear of any contractual arrangementsIn addition, we will clear any grievances we have documented and cease any further legal actionWe appreciate you following through with your proposal in a timely manner based on your enclosed invoices.Sincerely,
