Federal Bureau of Grants Department Reviews (7)

We received a phone call from a gentleman named William with an apparent callback number of 206-453-stating that we won a "Federal Department of Treasury Grant" that was not education-relatedWe were told that we could go to Moneygram and receive our immediate $7,grantI asked to speak with a manager who then said that he was calling from HHS at Independence SW, we were asked to provide a callback to 253-777-I repeatedly mentioned that it sounded like a scam and William said that the FBI was recording the callThis is predatory calling at its worst

I was called from 202-000-saying I had won a $10,grant from the US Government Department of Treasury Asked my age, if I was single or married, if I was working, and what I would use the money for They gave me a call back number (for the accounts manager) of 206-855-and to give the approval ID # of RMto get the money sent to my bank, a card, or wired to a Western Union They had my name and address on file to verify with me as well So sad

This is a scamPerson told me there address was Independence AVE NW Washington DC Said his phone number was 202/600-Said they were a government agency that wanted to send me money by a money gram

This # 301-616-9723 just called my sister in law. She is 8 months pregnant & works hard for her money & is trying to get everything ready for her unborn baby. So you can imagine how excited she was getting a call from a "Government Agency" wanting to give her a sum of $7,000 without having to pay back a dime! I too was caught up in the excitement & happy for this "Huge Help" she was about to receive since I know how much she needed & deserved it. Then I got to thinking about a documentary I'd seen on 20/20 not too long ago about these foreigners contacting & scamming random people, usually targeting the elderly, single mothers, needy, or just any innocent person. They'd somehow find a way to get people to give out their phone # online or some other way & then they'd call that person & tell them that they either won a large sum of money, or that they signed up online for the chance to receive it. Then they'd tell you that you'd be wired the large sum of money (In my sister's case, $7,000) instantly. They told her it was a grant from the US Government to help young adults. She had debit card in hand getting ready to recite her account # when I told her NOOOOO! Wait! I've heard about this scam before! She still seemed eager so I went & told my fiancé to which he instantly grabbed the phone to speak to the caller to find out the legitimacy to protect his younger sister. He asked to speak with someone who spoke English, & apologized if the remark seemed racist, being as polite as possible. They said sure, to which another "Gov't Employee" got on the phone, & they too were completely foreign. To which my fiancé asked to speak to a natural American who worked for "This US Gov't Agency" & they proceeded to explain who they worked for & they're legitimacy. My fiancé then asked for their address & full business name to which I googled & immediately pulled up site, after site on how this is a scam. To which was not a surprise. But was able to tell the person on the other line that the address they were located at was unknown, & that indeed they were 100% a scam. To which they tried repeating their whole script over again & we hung up the phone. Or so we thought. We then said many nasty things about these victim prowlers til they had enough & hung up, & that's when we realized we never hit "End Call". Oops! ;) Awful people, & just disgusting how they prey upon hard working citizens cuz they can't get a legit job themselves. Thieves are despicable people. Sm & filth is what's in the make of their DNA! Shameful a[redacted] you are! Not even worth being called a human being. Just shameful, shameful A[redacted]

They contacted me from 222-222-2245 and asked me for bank info and I said no so they said they would wire money. They told me to call back at 315-636-0721. This answers as a google account which I called from a different line just to see what it would say. Please shut down these hacks. It was pretty obvious since the person who called was a p[redacted] or the like person. Said name was Corey W[redacted]. Yeah right! lol.

I recieved a call from 1(323)406-5885 stating that I had qualified for a U.S. Federal government grant of $9,000 in which I would not have to pay back. As I listened to him ramble about why I was selected I googled the address and information he gave me, knowing this was a scam. I asked for his superior and then spoke with yet another male who couldn't speak English very well. The number they called from was located in California according to my iPhone and he stated he was located in Washington D.C. When I asked him what the grant was called he stumbled over his words and told me it was the "personal money grant" which made no sense. They somehow had all of my personal information and as I stated I was wel aware this was a scam they kept repeating their obvious script they were reading off of. If you get one of these calls PLEASE just hang up! If it's too good to be true and you didn't personally apply for a grant, it's a SCAM!

We received a phone call from a gentleman named William with an apparent callback number of 206-453-1346 stating that we won a "Federal Department of Treasury Grant" that was not education-related. We were told that we could go to Moneygram and receive our immediate $7,000 grant. I asked to speak with a manager who then said that he was calling from HHS at 200 Independence SW, we were asked to provide a callback to 253-777-3463. I repeatedly mentioned that it sounded like a scam and William said that the FBI was recording the call. This is predatory calling at its worst.
