Earlier this year we spent $3400 buying both carpeting and vinyl flooring for our entire house from Abbey Carpet. The salesman, Chuck, told us things that he should not have told us according to the owner, Mark M. He told us that the vinyl flooring would be put under the dishwasher and it wasn't and we have come to find out it normally isn't according to other carpet retailers. He also told us that the baseboard should be removed when the new floor comes in. We later found out that they usually leave the baseboard up. We ended up paying extra money to the installer to install the new base boarding after we bought it. The installers dragged the stove and refrigerator on the new vinyl kitchen floor with nothing between the stove and floor. We later found out an air bubble less than 2 months after install near the fridge. When I looked at the air bubble I saw a tear in the vinyl that was near the fridge by one of its feet. The tear was initially very hard to see but was still there and we were not sure how much damage was under the fridge. I went to Abbey Carpet and told the owner, Mark, that there was a problem with the vinyl floor. He said air bubbles were not unusual and I mentioned it seems unusual after 2 months especially researching it on line. He said the installer would be contacting me to set up a time to inspect. It was over a week and he never called. When I called to speak with Mark, I was told he was gone for the weekend. I asked that he call me on Monday when he returned and that the installer never called me. The next Monday the installer called but Mark has NEVER called me. When the installer came he immediately insinuated the fridge was a different one. I told him it was the same fridge his people had placed there in the same place. I told him that we wanted the flooring for the kitchen and dining room replaced as it was all one big piece and only 2 months old. The installer said Mark would contact me and that was on 8/26/15. As of 9/915, Mark has never called. I have sent a certified letter with return receipt requested to Mark at Abbey and am awaiting contact from them. I also know that my wife has called them and asked for a return call with Mark never calling her back. We spent a great deal of money to be ignored when there is a problem. I am disappointed at being ignored.

Femak was retained to ship and deliver vehicles from Saskatoon to Nigeria. Its been 7 months and the vehicles are still not delivered. Over $12,000.[redacted]I was introduced to Femak Import & Export by a friend of mine as I was in need of a forwarding agent to ship my vehicles to From Saskatoon to Lagos Nigeria. The monies on the schedule below were either paid to [redacted] orwas used to purchase goods which was placed in custody of Mr [redacted] with a view to be delivered:Schedule[redacted]The container holding the vehicles described on the above schedule sailed from Vancouver, BC to Cotonou, Benin and arrived on or around Nov 30th 2015 on a [redacted] Bill of Laden #[redacted].I contacted Mr. [redacted] prior to the vehicles setting sail, and he advised he would also facilitate the clearing of the container and deliver the vehicles to my designated address in Lagos Nigeria for a nominal charge of N600,000.00 in Nigeria currency Equivalent of $3,999.41CAD ([redacted]).Upon arrival of the vessel in Cotonou, I enquired of Mr. [redacted] the delivery date of the vehicles and this is when the stories began. He was very evasive and told stories like the port was congested, at a point he stated that the vehicles we actually on the way to be delivered. Around the end of January I decided to take it upon myself to clear the container ([redacted]), and since I would be in possession of his vehicles I could sell they to recuperate additional cost incurred.I spoke to Mr. [redacted] prior to retaining the services of a clearing agent in Cotonou, all to ascertain there will be no issues along the way and this he confirm and gave his go-ahead.I received a call from the clearing agent on 18/02/2016, the shipping company in Cotonou was requesting that a telex release for the container be forwarded to them from Canada.I approached Mr. [redacted] with this request, and he evaded me for a couple of days [redacted] I contacted the forwarding agent listed on the Bill of Laden and he did confirm my suspicion. Monies paid to Mr. [redacted] by me for shipping of the vehicles was never paid to the shipping agent and is still outstanding. My vehicles are still at the Cotonou Port and have not been delivered as promised, Mr. [redacted] has gone AWOL and have refused to communicate regarding the fate of my vehicles.Desired Settlement1. My vehicle delivered to me in Lagos Nigeria or 2. $12,045.45 paid to me.

We were quoted less than two months for delivery and in the end we fought to get our items after seven months from shipping. In August 2015 we shipped a 2008 [redacted] filled with various items such as a small deep freeze, two generators, electronics, purses and other small items. Femak quoted 6-7 weeks for the delivery of these items to Lagos, Nigeria. Instead of shipping to Lagos, Nigeria, Femak instead shipped the items to Cotonou, Benin without consent or consultation. After several months, it came to light that the money I had given for the clearing of these items had never been paid to the clearing agent and additional charges had now been laid on the container. Only March 3rd, 2016 did the car finally get through Nigerian customs and reach its destination, despite a signed agreement with Femak stating the vehicle would be delivered before November 10th, 2015. [redacted]. Though we received the vehicle, we were told the additional cargo was enroute. However, [redacted] some weeks later a mutual friend confirmed that the cargo had never left the shipping yard in Cotonou. I personally paid for additional clearing and the costs of this person to transport those goods to Nigeria without any aid from Femak. In addition [redacted], the car was improperly loaded and sustained damage to the hood. Femak has refused to consider funds to restore the condition of the vehicle.[redacted]Desired SettlementI am asking [redacted] to refund the cost of transporting the additional cargo, a total of $273 CAD, the cost of repairing the damage sustained during shipping, and the cost of shipping itself $1850 USD [redacted]
