Yes, the job was cancelled by [redacted]. Once I ([redacted]) was informed that [redacted] had a complaint, I wrote and called her. [redacted] called back stating she wanted a cancellation letter. I did call again a couple of days before I wrote the letter to make sure this was all she wanted, she did not...

answer and I left a message. I waited a couple days for her to respond, she did not respond, so I mailed her a cancelation letter. I believe she has it, but called and left a message asking if she had received it. [redacted] said he had a difficult time communicating with [redacted]. Finally, after much miscommunication when she said we had told her we would come out on Thursday, when he had told her we could not [redacted] decided that it would be best for best for Fence World and [redacted] not work together and he the job.

[redacted] called me when she got the complaint from Contractor's Board. She told me she has no record of any contract with me. (Why am I not surprised!) I told her I have my copy. I told her in this conversation what I wanted stated in the letter-. that they cancelled the contract. I told her I had sent a letter to [redacted] with this demand and received [redacted] signature postcard back that he got my letter. (So it sounds like [redacted] is not being honest with [redacted].) I also told her that I had chosen Fence World because they were close to me and could get the job done timely, though they charged extra for it. I told her that I had been warned by neighbors and designers not to do business with them because they were difficult to work with. She did not want to hear this and went on to defend the quality of their work. I told her that the issue at hand had nothing to do with quality but the keeping of their word, especially since I was paying extra for it.I hand delivered a copy of the contract to her two days later. She called and left a message that she got it.I then heard nothing from her over a week or more and then she called and left a message asking me what I wanted in the letter. I felt this was just another delay tactic since we had already had a lengthy conversation about what I wanted and [redacted] had my letter. I am not home during the day and they close at $PM (they do have message machine but I was not willing to leave another message not knowing who picks up the message.) I do not have a cell phone.About another week later I received another message from her saying she was mailing the letter (approximately Feb 21/22). I received a call last week (March 9th?) asking me to let her know I got the letter. I did not receive the letter until March 14th as she had mailed it to a non-existent address and it got returned to her.Now I see she has told you [redacted] cancelled the contract because I was difficult to deal with. [redacted] did not like being reminded of what he said he would do. I kept getting excuses as to why work was not being done on my contract, like "I have to get ready for Second Saturday" or similar excuses. He was not expediting the project (though I was paying extra for it) and he was changing the dates of when work would be done to days I had previously told him I was not available. Then the project was getting further delayed and I was now paying extra for nothing.I have a contract with another company and did not have any problems with like I had with [redacted]. They are actually doing more without charging me for the extras that [redacted] was charging for. I dealt with his sales person most of the time but when [redacted] got involved [redacted] was always out of sorts, argumentative, and disagreeable. He was even rude and hung up on me when he said he was cancelling the contract. He was not polite or business like. I had no issue with his sales person who was put in the middle of issues. [redacted] was exactly as I had been warned about.[redacted]

Review: I asked for an estimate and met with salesman, [redacted], and subsequently [redacted] a couple times to make adjustments to designs of driveway gate requested color etc. prior signing a contract. He was charging me extra to expedite the job. He told me to make the 10% down payment on the contract to the workmen when the workmen showed up to dig the post-holes. I signed the contract 1/6/15. I called the next day to change pickets from solid to hollow. I was told I did not have to come in and sign a new contract with the change, as they would take it as a verbal. Both [redacted] and [redacted] witnessed this over the phone.

I asked for a start date and was told they would call me the end of the week. I did not hear anything about a start date so on 1/13/2015 I called and spoke with [redacted]. We set Thursday 1/15/15 as the date for posthole diggings. He said he would call me Wednesday 1/14/15 with a time. I told him to leave a message since I would not be home Wednesday. He called Wednesday and left a message sating they would be here Friday 1/16/15 at 10AM. I had previously told them I was not going to be here Friday 1/16/15. When I got home Wednesday 1/14/15 I called but they closed at 4PM - I left a message. I spoke with [redacted] and [redacted] on 1/15/15 and the conversation seemed to skip over the fact I was told they would come Thursday 1/15/15 and they were now wanting to give me a day for the following week. I pointed out they were charging me extra to expedite the project and this was now pushing 3 weeks just for a start date. I then got told by [redacted] that he is "tired of me telling him what he has told me" and that I have not made any payments (though I was not to make any until post holes dug). He then said he was canceling the contract and hung up. I sent a letter to him via [redacted] with a return receipt request asking him to send me a written cancellation letter. He got my letter 1/20/15. To date I have not received written notice of cancellation and no work has happen. I have since contracted with another company.

Neighbors told that this company/owner was rude and difficult to work with when they found out I was having a new gate installed. I thought since I was working with his salesperson that I would not have to deal with Mr. [redacted]. He apparently does not want to accommodate his customers or keep his word. Apparently he does not have good business practices either since he has not provided me with his written cancellation of the written contract.Desired Settlement: A letter from him cancelling the contract.

Thank You for your assistance with this issue. [redacted]
