I contacted Savannah regarding a move from Michigan to NC I spoke with [redacted] and informed him that this was a vacation home and we had to have delivery on a specific dateHe indicated "no problem" if the pick up was scheduled by 6/ [redacted] called to confirm pick up the night before6/came and wentNo one showedI called times that day to find out where the truck wasNo one called me back until that eveningWhen [redacted] called, he indicated that they make "no promises" on date of delivery and I would have to verify with the broker that they could get my furniture there by the date requestedWhen the broker finally showed the next day (not at the time they indicated), they said "no way" - it would be WEEKS after the agreed upon date so I did not allow them to take my furnitureI requested a refund from Savannah for my deposit and they have refusedThis company lies to garner contracts, but actually has NO guarantees and NO control over their brokers and WILL NOT call you back if you have problems

I booked my move weeks before my move date of July 15th, [redacted] was the salesman who contacted me with the initial quoting processHe was very calm and courteous, and I got the feeling that I could trust him and what he was saying; he didn't give me the typical salesman vibe that I know so wellI got his first and last name, his office number and his mobile numberHe told me I could call him at any time with any questions on his mobile if I couldn't reach him, which gave me confidence in the whole process, but boy was I wrong The week of my move, I tried to reach salesman [redacted] through every avenue: repeated calls to the receptionist phone line, his work phone, his mobile phone, leaving voicemails and sending an email, but never once did I get in contact with him throughout the entire process There's no way to reach or transfer to customer service directly either; the receptionists on the main line will tell you that they can only leave a message for customer service to contact you instead of vice versaI was so scared and frantic about not being able to contact anyone about me wanting to add more inventory to the move or about what the exact move day would be for days and days I wasn't able to contact anyone about my move until days before my move date (which was truly frightening considering how important a move is) when [redacted] finally contacted me from customer serviceMy moving "window" was Thu-Fri, but [redacted] told me my move day pickup would be Thursday, July 14th, and that my arrival date would "most likely" not be same dayAs a precaution, I changed my lease date to July 14th, which was a $chargeOn Wednesday, [redacted] said "Okay now your pickup is Friday from 11-2", which was incredibly frustrating considering it was such short notice and I paid $for nothingI demanded that I get $off my bill for jerking me around with the date and him basically going back and lying on what he had told me previouslyIt was a miscommunication that was ***'s fault, and after minutes of raising [redacted] between both [redacted] and his supervisor ***, they still wouldn't give us $off our billAfter being pressed on the issue, supervisor [redacted] actually admitted that [redacted] was indeed lying and that he did say what he denied he said, but they still wouldn't give us our $ Out of fear, frustration and lack of trust, we cancelled our move, had to eat our deposit and rented a U-Haul where my wife and I loaded approxlbs of stuff into the 15' truck ourselves and successfully moved into our new apartment on Thursday, July 14thThis all could've been avoided and they could've retained their $payment over a mere $that was caused by a customer service miscommunication and a long string of stubbornness and denial from both representatives The best part was that on Friday, July 15th (our original move date), at ***5:22pm [redacted] (our original time window was 11-2) we get a call saying that the movers were outside our complex! Savannah Van Lines were so bad at communication, that they didn't even tell the sub-contracted movers that we cancelled AND they were over hours late anyway! I was justified in my lack of trust and I can't even imagine how terrible it would've been had we followed through with such a late appointment timeWe would've made it home at nearly midnight And through all of that, I never heard from [redacted]

THIS IS THE MOST TERRIBLE MOVING COMPANY YOU COULD EVER USE - DO NOT EVER EVER WORK WITH THEMI would give Savannah Van Lines NEGATIVE stars if I couldThey quoted us at $to move from Ohio to TexasLong story short - they showed up days AFTER the set date & back up dateA Penske rental moving truck showed up, moved all of my things on the truck & said my stuff was 6,POUNDS - ridiculous & inaccurate for a sq ft apartment with minimal itemsThey then tried to charge us $5,000, & wouldn't remove my items off the truck unless we paid $1,right thereThey left with my items, we don't know where they wentThe man who is driving the truck called & texted us with basically a RANSOM request - trying to negotiate a price, but never even giving us confirmation on if he still even has my thingsThe contracts are basically ridiculous - they do not follow anything that they originally statedWe have been in contact with the police & transportation department who told us Savannah Van Lines lost their brokerage license in December & they are NOT LICENSED to broker our deal out in the first placeThe transportation department is treating this as an active HOSTAGE situationThis is completely serious & unbelievably ILLEGALIf you don't want to go through a nightmare, pay a ridiculously amount of money, or possibly LOSE all of your things, then DO NOT EVER USE SAVANNAH VAN LINESWARNINGThis is the most terrible company anyone could ever work with

I completely agree with all of the bad reviews regarding this companyAfter my niece contacted several other companies, she felt that the sales person *** and *** were very knowledgeableTherefore, we hired Savannah Van Lines for the move from Michigan to TexasNever were we informed that Savannah was acting as a brokerage company and that they were actually outsourcing our move to Mile Moving companyAfter I paid Savannah the initial payment of $600, I was hard pressed to get any one to call me back regarding anything further with my moveThe receptionist at Savannah is EXTREMELY rude and places you on hold without even first saying hello or getting your permission to do soAfter several messages left for *** and without return calls, I finally was able to speak to *** and asked him specifically why I had to pay the 2nd and 3rd payments by either bank cashier's check or post office money orde instead of a credit cardThe whole thing didn't make sense since I originally paid Savannah by credit careEven when I specifically asked *** the question of why I couldn't pay his company the 2nd and 3rd payments by credit card, *** NEVER told me that a different company was doing my move but he simply stated that the drivers don't always carry a credit card processing machineFast forward to the pidayMile Movers came to the house to pick up our belongings, There were guys to move all of the boxes and furnitureThe lead man was rude, obnoxious and condesdending when I questioned him about the poor way that he was wrapping my expensive grandfather clockHe didn't even wrap it with blankets until I asked him to do so and he even used my own boxes to place around the clock for protectionThey loaded my belongins into a truck and I was NEVER told by Mile Movers that eventually my stuff would be delivered in a U-hall trailor attached in tow to the back of their moving truckFrom pick up to delivery was days when the original contract stated delivery would be in 7-daysWhen the furniture was delivered to Texas by a different crew from Mile Movers, I wasn't able to even LOOK at my belongings before handing over my last check and they were adamant to get their money up front before anything was removed from the U-Haul trailor The movers got lost and had to call me mulltiple times for directionsIn addition, they had difficulty pulling into the alley in back of my house to deliver my belongingsThey transported my grandfather clock lying flat, which was not the recommended transport position per the clock company There was damage to several pieces of my niece's furniture as well as to glassware and antique liquor bottles, which broke with alcohol spilling all over the contents of the heavy plastic tote that they were stored inThe move took place over weeks ago and my niece has been trying to contact both Savannah Van Lines and Mile Movers but without, you guessed it, no answer
Based on my experience, I would NEVER hire Savannah Van Lines ever again nor would I hire Mile Movers eitherAfter Savannah gets their cut of the money, they check out and don't follow through with any customer service beyond that pointI hired Savannah Van Lines for my move and I didn't hire Mile MoversHad I known that Savannah was going to outsource my business to another company, I would have NEVER chosen them in the first place

Terrible experience, they were to move us on a Saturday, did not show up until Monday morning, and a hour on load took hours and to get our stuff there was suppose to be a week so far I'm told a month

Things Savannah Van Lines does not disclose: 1.Once they take your down payment, they no longer deal with you, unless you constantly call themAlthough you may be told that your belongings will arrive no later than a quoted date, be aware that they have days to deliver your household belongings, and if they don't stick to that date, oh wellAnother company actually renders the moveWhen you call that send company: America Movers in my case, don't be shocked if you are told, and I quote from an America Mover representative," We don't have any drivers yetWhen we get one, we will call you." Meanwhile, your family's belongings will sit in the state you left for no one knows how longBe prepared to repurchase things you already have so that you can survive until they find a driver to deliver your family's belongingsMe and my son's belongings we're packed and put on a moving truck on May 15,As of today, May 26,2016, no one can tell me the expected arrival date of our belongingsAmerica Movers will no answer the phoneThe Senior Estimator eith Savannah Van Lines has not returned any of my callsSomeone in customer service said that they'll send me a claim form in the mail to fill out and have America Movers call me right awayStill waiting on that phone callThis company should be shut down because of their unethical business practicesSavannah Van Lines should disclose, upfront, that they are brokers for another or various moving companies and that they will not be moving youTherefore, they can not and should not quote you or attempt to guarantee you any datesKnoledge of this, would allow the customer to have the opportunity to be prepared in an event such as this

I would never suggest using this company to anybody who's moving.

I signed up online to receive quotes from several moving companies and Savannah Van Lines was one of the companies that reached out to me.

I had already made arrangements with another moving company but Savannah Van Lines persuaded me after several phone calls to cancel with the other company and go with them instead. They told me there was a truck already going from TN to CA which is where I was moving and that I was getting a great deal. This was about five weeks before my moving date.

The day before my move I get a call at 4:30 pm saying that the truck that was reserved had problems and is now not coming. They provided no resolution or time when they would have a replacement ready. There was a total lack of concern and it took two more days and several phone calls before I could speak to someone about what was happening. I ended up canceling and renting a truck myself to drive the 2,000 miles. It was a total mess and nobody there at Savannah Van Lines seemed to care about what had happened.

It then took an entire month of wrestling on the phone about getting my deposit back. At one point they said they had mailed a check out to my new address and were shocked I hadn't received it yet. But then when I threatened to get the Attorney General of Florida involved they immediately wired the money into my account basically admitting they never mailed me a check. It was ridiculous!

So if you're looking to move across the country I would absolutely avoid using this company. Don't let them fool you by saying they don't have any bad reviews online or a totally safe and clean record on all of the government websites. I truly think the company is a scam and should NOT be trusted with anyone's personal belongings. Do not use Savannah Van Lines.

I booked my move 3 weeks before my move date of July 15th, 2016. [redacted] was the salesman who contacted me with the initial quoting process. He was very calm and courteous, and I got the feeling that I could trust him and what he was saying; he didn't give me the typical salesman vibe that I know so well. I got his first and last name, his office number and his mobile number. He told me I could call him at any time with any questions on his mobile if I couldn't reach him, which gave me confidence in the whole process, but boy was I wrong.

The week of my move, I tried to reach salesman [redacted] through every avenue: repeated calls to the receptionist phone line, his work phone, his mobile phone, leaving voicemails and sending an email, but never once did I get in contact with him throughout the entire process.

There's no way to reach or transfer to customer service directly either; the receptionists on the main line will tell you that they can only leave a message for customer service to contact you instead of vice versa. I was so scared and frantic about not being able to contact anyone about me wanting to add more inventory to the move or about what the exact move day would be for days and days.

I wasn't able to contact anyone about my move until 3 days before my move date (which was truly frightening considering how important a move is) when [redacted] finally contacted me from customer service. My moving "window" was Thu-Fri, but [redacted] told me my move day pickup would be Thursday, July 14th, and that my arrival date would "most likely" not be same day. As a precaution, I changed my lease date to July 14th, which was a $50 charge. On Wednesday, [redacted] said "Okay now your pickup is Friday from 11-2", which was incredibly frustrating considering it was such short notice and I paid $50 for nothing. I demanded that I get $50 off my bill for jerking me around with the date and him basically going back and lying on what he had told me previously. It was a miscommunication that was [redacted]'s fault, and after 30 minutes of raising [redacted] between both [redacted] and his supervisor [redacted], they still wouldn't give us $50 off our bill. After being pressed on the issue, supervisor [redacted] actually admitted that [redacted] was indeed lying and that he did say what he denied he said, but they still wouldn't give us our $50.

Out of fear, frustration and lack of trust, we cancelled our move, had to eat our deposit and rented a U-Haul where my wife and I loaded approx. 3000 lbs of stuff into the 15' truck ourselves and successfully moved into our new apartment on Thursday, July 14th. This all could've been avoided and they could've retained their $1700 payment over a mere $50 that was caused by a customer service miscommunication and a long string of stubbornness and denial from both representatives.

The best part was that on Friday, July 15th (our original move date), at [redacted]5:22pm[redacted] (our original time window was 11-2) we get a call saying that the movers were outside our complex! Savannah Van Lines were so bad at communication, that they didn't even tell the sub-contracted movers that we cancelled AND they were over 3 hours late anyway! I was justified in my lack of trust and I can't even imagine how terrible it would've been had we followed through with such a late appointment time. We would've made it home at nearly midnight.

And through all of that, I never heard from [redacted]

Thieves, cheaters, manipulators! I state unequivocally: Do NOT do any business with them! I would give zero stars if I could. They also operate under the name Savanna Van Lines. Avoid!

I contacted Savannah regarding a move from Michigan to NC. I spoke with [redacted] and informed him that this was a vacation home and we had to have delivery on a specific date. He indicated "no problem" if the pick up was scheduled by 6/23. [redacted] called to confirm pick up the night before. 6/23 came and went. No one showed. I called 7 times that day to find out where the truck was. No one called me back until that evening. When [redacted] called, he indicated that they make "no promises" on date of delivery and I would have to verify with the broker that they could get my furniture there by the date requested. When the broker finally showed the next day (not at the time they indicated), they said "no way" - it would be WEEKS after the agreed upon date so I did not allow them to take my furniture. I requested a refund from Savannah for my deposit and they have refused. This company lies to garner contracts, but actually has NO guarantees and NO control over their brokers and WILL NOT call you back if you have problems.
