Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
Mr Fennell has been untruthfulFirst, his health (as sad as that may be) was not the issue per seBob G*** did mention the health issue but he seemed to have things under control at the timeThis, in fact, was why we gave Bob such latitude with getting started on our projectWe figured he might have been swampedBut, months was way too long especially in light of the fact that on the Fennell Roofing Page on *** they were taking and doing numerous jobs. We felt justified in firing them after it was taking way too long and we were afraid that the fair weather we'd been having was not going to last
Bob essentially did whatever work was done alone except for one day when he had or guys helping to tear off the old roof and put down some plywood (pretty thin plywood compared to the next contractor who put down almost double the thickness!)We told Bob that we wanted to be able to walk on the roof as it is accessed from our bedroom via a doorBut, we mentioned that the new plywood he put down was still kind of spongy feeling when we walked on itHe told us that the material he was going to put down would “tighten” it upWell, after or coats of this material it still was spongyThe temps at the time were pretty warm for december (40s and 50s even some 60s) so Matts statement about the cold was inaccurate. Bob also assured us that he’d found the leak in the roofThe next rain showed us that was NOT the caseThe leak went from some dripping to a steady stream of water! They absolutely did not spend thousands on the roofThe contract receipt for the money states “Furnished deposit of $for deposit on siding"Well, technically they never did any siding so that money belongs to us
Matt states in his reply that “cold temps made applications to roofing and siding against manufacturers specs to delay” (not quite sure what that means) Considering we contracted for his services in August why did it take him until December? Poor man, stuck in the middle? It’s his business and he should have been on top of the project especially after cashing our checkWhat, he just cashes checks without knowing what for?
As to his contention we were supposed to pay the second installment that’s plain bullNo one ever asked for the second installmentMost reputable contractors don’t require that much money up front because they want you to be completely satisfied before they take the rest of the money
We felt that it was up to Matt to call us to clarify the situation and Bob told us when we expressed our dissatisfaction that Matt was going to call us! So, he’s full of it
As to his not signing off on the project, well, legally speaking it was his letterhead and he cashed our check which implies consentAny other reputable contractor would have given our whole $back after us waiting whole months before work was even startedThen to do such shoddy work that our leak was WORSE than when they started? I don’t know what kind of shyster Matt F* is but so far it’s looking like fraud and we are in contact with the D.AIf he’s not careful Matt could end up in jailI also have documentation to substantiate my claims if necessary
Regards,
Stephen K***

Dear Revdex.com, Mr. Robert G[redacted], my employee capped tow windows.  At a agreed price.  Me (Matt F.) was not there.  Mr. G[redacted] did the repair.  Customer saw the work, paid Mr. G[redacted]. Capped the top round of 2 windows.  Impossible to stretch aluminum.  Capped as agreed...

on invoice and paid. Sincerely, Matt F.Our company can't work for free, outrageous.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  Mr. Fennel's response is not true.  The company agreed to cap the window initially, the work performed was poor craftsmanship.  Unfortunately, I had paid prior to viewing the work-big mistake.  However, I had requested they return to rectify, which they returned one time and clearly were perplexed on what to do-said they would be back.  In fact, Mr. Fennel even apologized on his companies behalf for lack of follow up but regardless never resolved the problem.  I had to pay another contractor $480 to resolve the issue Fennel Roofing had caused.  I don't expect anyone to work for free but like anyone else if you pay for something to be done its expected to be done right!  Bottom line there's limited truth to Mr. Fennel's poorly written response.Regards,
