Ferber Dental Group Reviews (5)

I am being charged for services NOT received or contracted for, only an oral agreement after asking for an estimate of treatment.
Dentist group agreed to a payment schedule of 6 months to cover treatment of extractions, temporary mold and permanent upper denture for $4000. total. At next app't Dentist collected $1334 as 1st payment and 2nd app't made to start bite mold. The day before app't, I received a phone call to bring another payment of $1334. I had used my mother's credit card for 1st payment. We objected to 2nd prepayment before any treatment was started, and cancelled the app't and asked for a refund. It was denied by Ferber. They sent an invoice for work they never started or completed. The $1334 was subsequently added to my elderly mother's account with added interest charges. It was appealed to the credit card company and denied. The Ferber Group is not a member of the American Dental Association. Several letters have been sent and they do not negotiate or try to resolve Customer Service complaints. I have since had dental treatment from a different group at almost half the price of Ferber. This has been ongoing since 4/23/19. There was no contract signed.

Desired Outcome

Refund/credit to the account of the charge made of $1334 plus two minimum payment and interest charges to CLOSE the account.

Ferber Dental Group Response • Sep 18, 2019

The patient signed a treatment plan that included a payment arrangement and our refund policy. All financial options were explained. The patient was treated by our doctors and lab fees on our end were incurred due to the patient's wishes for treatment and the signed contract. Our office makes 110 % effort to make dentistry affordable and we are often the most affordable option in South Florida. We offer excellent dental care and have been a leader in the community for years.
That being said, to clear up any confusion on the patient's part, we will be refunding the full amount they paid back to Discover. We look forward to taking care of the patient in the future should the need ever arise.

I want to notify you that the case against Ferber Dental Group, Greenacres, FL has been settled to our satisfaction. Ferber agreed to credit the Discover card of Carol Goff of all charges during our denial complaint, case #*** I was unable to go to the Complaint page online.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Will not return phone calls. Took $7000 toward $7681 treatment plan and delivered $2970 in work. I require the credit balance of $4,030.
On 8/11/2017 Dr. *** offered a plan for implants. Arranged CareCredit amount of $7000 for first phase totaling $7681 and tool full amount of $7K before beginning work. Had 3 extractions and bone graft added, 3 months healing for implant date, after 3 months needed to wait 2 additional months, after the 5 months the endodontist found 2 or 3 root tips in my gum and needed to remove them an all infection and previous bone graft. Healed for 5 months and then I talked with Dr. *** to change the plan to two implants and a bridge vs. the 3 implants and and 3 teeth. When it came time to get the posts for the implants put in (2/7/2019) the office requested final payment of $681 before proceeding. I asked the staff to call *** because the plan changed, as I only had 2 implants and would only require a bridge instead of 3 new teeth. The dentist at his office informed me the bridge would cost less than 3 teeth and I'd save $499 by not having the 3rd implant. The dentist refuses to answer my calls or return my messages. He's fired. The work to date regarding his plan is $2970, I informed his office our relationship is terminated, he refuses to call me back and I want the balance of$4030 returned so I can apply to a new dentist to complete my work.

I do not owe Mr. anything, in fact, he owes us $862.00. When his treatment plan was first created I explained that the plan was deeply discounted. The discount depended on completion of the treatment plan. He did not complete the work and the prices reverted to the normal price. He was given a Discounted Fee Plan that explained what he would be charged, if the treatment plan was not completed, and he signed it.
He also signed the treatment plan which stated the payment terms.
Mr. paid the $7000.00 with a loan from a lending company. That loan was discharged in a bankruptcy he filed. If there were any money left in his account we would have to return it to the lending company, not him. Again, there is no credit balance. He is demanding we return money to him that is not due and was not his.
Mr. smokes and refused to have work needed to teeth adjoining the implants. He was advised over and over that the implants could have problems integrating due to these issues. I spoke with him about it twice, the general dentist spoke with him about it and so did the periodontist more than once.
When Mr. called the office to go over the treatment plan again they made an appointment for him to see me. He cancelled that appointment.
We are here to take care of Mr. whenever he chooses to continue his treatment.

Ferber is wrong and either mistaking my case for another patient or is making things up as he goes.

I do not smoke! No one in his his office consulted with me about smoking during the process because I do not smoke.

Regarding the funding from CareCredit, that debt was discharged and the refund I am due should be returned to CareCredit. I do not want Ferber to be paid for anything that was not completed, his partners extracted 3 teeth and placed in two implants. Is that worth $7000.00? And the discomfort and delay I experienced due to the infection because they left root tips and placed bone graft material over the old roots? Explained in more detail below...

This was not caused by smoking! After two to three root tips were left in my gum from the extractions that Shafer performed the bone graft material that she placed never solidified because of the infection. When I returned three months later to have the implants placed she said Nagler noticed something in my gum from the films and that more healing was required. Shafer took films after the extractions and couldn't tell there was more material to remove before she stitched me up. Obviously Nagler was better qualified and had expressed his concern to Shafer but they did nothing to correct it at that visit. Another two months passed and Nagler took more pictures and said he didn't think I could get the implants yet, that something wasn't right in my gum. He opened up my gum and found the root tips Shafer left in, repacked the bone graft and again I waited another 5 months. In the meantime he wanted to drill another tooth and I told him that I'd decided to just finish the work they started and that was all I wanted from Ferber Dental, my trust was lost on them. I returned to get the two implants placed into my gum. I told Shafer and Nagler I wanted the two implants and a bridge instead of three implants and three porcelain teeth.

On what was supposed to be my second to the last visit the office receptionist told me they required the final payment of $680.00 to begin the prep work for the bridge. I asked/told them to call Ferber so I could discuss it with him, that there should be a price adjustment due to the change in the work plan. They refused and I've called and left messages for Ferber, spoke with people on his staff that said he would get the message, and he's never called me, they did not set an appointment for me to visit him!

He is misleading anyone that believes his statement that I refused work or smoked. I only wanted to finish the work and find a new dentist that I could trust.

He also told me on the first visit that they would glue in a bridge I have on the other side of my mouth, temporarily, so I could continue to interview for a new job as my company sold my division and all the employees were laid off. It fell off in his office during the first visit because they took impressions and the material pulled the bridge off. Ferber had his assistant glue it back in. A month later it fell off again and he refused to glue it back in, saying it would fall off while I was sleeping and would choke to death on it. I ordered dental cement online and glued it back in myself. It stays for about 6 months and then needs to be glued again, never once falling off in my sleep, it falls out because I chew on it.

I have no faith or trust in this entire organization ( I do trust Nagler only) and have consulted with other dentists that will finish the work for me. All I want is for Ferber to return the funds he doesn't deserve to CareCredit. If he refuses I'll continue to press the matter with the Revdex.com, Social Media, and the Courts if necessary.

Further clarification: My copy of the "Proposed Treatment Plan" does not indicate a "Deep Discounted Plan" as Ferber stated above. I also was never given a copy of what he claims are his usual prices.

Insistent sales tactics and aggressive money collection for an unnecessary product.

I went to Ferber after breaking yet another tooth, more out of curiosity to see these "snap in teeth".
The implants were supposed to be $499 per tooth. I was painfully examined and told that all my teeth needed extraction..... I had major infections, gingivitis and all my teeth were loose. I was pressured and deceived into thinking I needed to have 29 teeth removed! All the x-rays were taken and a two year no interest payment plan was agreed upon and before I knew it, I was bound by this agreement. The pressure tactics were unconceivable.
I thought more about it and felt ill about it, so when I returned home I went to see my dentist and two others as well.
They all said I should NOT remove all my teeth. They were not loose and a few post and bridges
would take care of everything. I called Ferber and cancelled.
I received the bill from Ferber on October 12th, 2018, through Green Sky, which was a whopping
$27,583 and it was not a 2 year no-interest payment plan as we had agreed. I called and told them I will not pay a bill for a product I do not have nor want.
They said I have to pay for the temporary teeth they made. I called my dentist and he informed me that they could not charge me for anything they haven't placed in my mouth! I told *** I would pay only for the x-rays and had them sent to my dentist so I wouldn't have to do that twice.
I received a new bill from Ferber on Friday, October 26th for $3,215.40 and again, with a $115.40 interest charge. This was the no interest plan I was supposed to receive, which I also mentioned to them when I cancelled the procedure. I called and spoke with *** and asked for an Itemized bill and again told them that I will only pay for the x-rays. This bill should amount to less than $700.
***, another "snap in teeth" company does not use pressure sales tactics to get business. They charged me nothing. I went to Ferber because they were less expensive.
I never received the itemized bill I requested and will take this case to small claims if Ferber does not agree to allow us to pay for the x-rays only.

Desired Outcome

I would like to pay for the x-rays only.

Mr. was not pressured into anything. He was presented two options and chose his treatment. He was told that we could save multiple teeth with periodontal and restorative treatment but it would not be predictable in the long run. Impressions were taken and temporary dentures were made so he would not be without teeth after the extractions which were scheduled for his next visit. That's what the charges were. He signed a treatment plan and a discounted fee plan which states exactly what he would be charged if he cancelled. He did not receive any bills from us. We are not the finance company but we do have all of the signed papers for the financing. It clearly states what the terms of the finance agreement are. Ferber Dental does not use insistent sales tactics or aggressive money collection; everything is explained, given to the patient in writing and signed by the patient. Regardless of any misunderstanding or not, we do not want anyone to leave here unhappy. I am refunding all but $120.00 for the X-Rays, to the finance company.

Customer Response • Nov 21, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I am satisfied and would like to close the case. However, the finance company has not received payment and the interest free account is gaining more interest as the months go by. I do want to emphasize again...the loan agreement was supposed to be 0% interest for 1 year. Thank you Ferber for understanding that I do not want all my teeth pulled out and I am more than happy to pay for the x-rays and close this account.

Final Consumer Response /(2000, 12, 2018/11/21) */

About 3 years ago I got & paid for Implants. Upper$23,000,Partial Lower $11,000. About 1 year ago I got my Permanent teeth. A couple of months ago my bottom partial fell out and found out that they were glued, not implanted. I Talked to *** and he told me that most of the time they will glue instead of implant. He continued to say that they are just fine. If they come out again, just go to *** and get a tube of Polydent until I can have them glued on by them again. I said I want what I paid for. He then said that he would have to charge me another $6,000 if I wanted them Implanted. I have my paid for plan that shows all my bottom are charged for implants and not glued!
Product_Or_Service: Dental Implants

Desired Outcome

Finish the job I want my teeth implanted as I paid for. I am wondering now how many other of my teeth are glued and not implanted. I would like an answer for that also.

Ferber Dental Group Response • Sep 27, 2018

Mrs. came in to the office yesterday for a follow up and to alleviate any concerns that she had. It was explained to her that she indeed did have dental implants placed in her lower jaw to help replace her missing lower teeth. Dental implants are not the teeth themselves. They are the artificial tooth roots that hold in place the prosthetic teeth. The teeth can either be cemented to the implants or screwed into the implants. Either option is the standard of care and each has its benefits depending on the clinical situation of the patient. The teeth we made for her to replace her lower missing teeth cement to the implants. There is nothing wrong with the teeth we made for her. In fact, the vast majority of implant retained prostheses fabricated worldwide are done using cement. It is true that one time the teeth loosened on her. This can happen with screw retained teeth as well. It is possible it can happen again. However, it is more likely that it will never happen again. I told Mrs. that should the teeth loosen again, within 2 years, to satisfy her demands, and ease her mind, I would switch her restoration to one that is retained by screws (if it is clinically possible based on the angulation of the implants and angulation of her bone and adjacent teeth) This would be at no additional cost to her. She was satisfied and said she would be contacting you as such. Should you need anything else please email me at ***@aol.com. Thanks, *** Ferber DMD

Thank you *** I don't need to open the case now that I have the settlement on the Revdex.com file for which I printed. Thank You for your help.

I was rudely treated by Dr. [redacted] and his staff, when I went in for a repair to replace a missing housing in my upper plate that attaches it to my implant. The dental tech after looking at it says the charge would be over $300. I said that's too much for 1 housing, so she said that after talking to Dr. [redacted] the cost would be around $80. Then another dental tech disagreed said she went back to Dr. [redacted] and now the price is back to more than $300 again. When I complained that I wanted to talk Dr. [redacted], I was told he didn't have time to see me, not even 5 minutes. Next the staff hounded me for the money up front before starting the work. When I said I will reluctantly pay after I have a talk with Dr. [redacted] first as to the reason for the unusually high charge...the staff said NO!!!! either I pay up front or no work. I have paid this dentist over $10,000 in dental work and never been late once. And now to be treated this way and not allowed to speak with the dentist face to face is an insult. I ended up leaving with no work done.
I found a different Dentist who did the ENTIRE plate ( [redacted] and replaced 4 housings for implants) all for less than what [redacted] was trying to rip me off for in doing the one missing housing. Warning to all consumers this office is not consumer friendly.
