Review: January 2013 HVAC unit was not working. I contacted Ferme and Son and they sent a mechanic out to the house. The Mechanic determined the unit was not repairable and suggested replacement. I agreed to replace the unit.Spoke with [redacted]. several times about installing the replacement unit.February *, 2013 New condenser unit was installed by 2 mechanics.June [redacted] or [redacted] 2013I found the air conditioner was not working properly in the house. I called Ferme & Son several times leaving messages with both the person answering the service calls and on answering machine. It wasnt until I threatened to call the Revdex.com that I received a call back from [redacted]. June **, 2013 [redacted]. found the unit was low on Freon. He recharged the system and did not charge me. [redacted] told me, he believed when the unit was installed in February, the mechanic didnt charge it properly most likely because of the cold weather and pressure of Freon.September *, 2013Late evening on the 3rd the unit stopped providing A/C again. September *, 2013 On the morning of the [redacted] I could see ice built up on the pipe leading from the condenser unit into the house. I immediately called Ferme & Son. [redacted] came out that day and discovered that the air handler in the basement was also frozen with approx. 2 inches of ice. He said there was nothing he could do that day because the unit needed to thaw. He would send a mechanic the next day. While [redacted] was in the basement, he noticed my hot water tank leaking and pointed it out to me. I asked him if he could replace the tank. He said yes but not the next day. I let [redacted] know I was going away on business for about a week and would I be okay unit he replaced. He said yes and showed me how to turn the water off while I was away. September *, 2013By mid-morning, no one had arrived to fix the HVAC. I began calling [redacted]s cell phone leaving several messages and called the office.September *, 2013I finally got ahold of [redacted]. He claimed his mechanic did try calling me but there was no answer. My cell phone never left my side on the [redacted]. There were no missed calls or messages.I asked [redacted] if he could fix the HVAC and the hot water heater on Saturday September [redacted] as I was away on business until then.September **, 2013I called [redacted]s cell, got his vm and left a message confirming mechanics would be at my house the next day to fix the HVAC and replace the hot water heater.September **, 2013No call / No show from Ferme & Son.September **, 2013 Maccarone Plumbing a different company replaced the hot water heater. They didnt have time to look at the HVACThe weather was nice through the rest of September and into October. There was no need for to turn on the A/C or Heat.October **, 2013I turned the heat on and found the condenser unit stopped working after less than a minute.October **, 2013I called Maccarone Plumbing to check the unit. They sent someone in 2 hours. The mechanic found the unit low on pressure and fund oil leaking inside the condenser unit. Maccarone Plumbing would not work on the unit because it would void the warranty on unit I just installed in February.While the mechanic was still there I immediately called Ferme and Son, 3:35pm. Spoke with [redacted] and explained what was going on. He said he would have [redacted]. call me. October **, 2013Mid-morning still no return call. At 11:19am I called Ferme. Again [redacted] told me [redacted]. did call me and there was no answer. Not true. He said he would have [redacted] call me again.October **, 2013At 9:18 am I called Ferme and got a woman this time. She took my information again. 11:17am [redacted]. called me. I explained to him what was going on. The follow week was open for and I gave [redacted] the option of when he wanted to schedule the repair. He said he wanted to fix it that coming Monday; he didnt want to leave me without heat.October 21, 20132:20pm, [redacted] called me and said he was running very late as none of his mechanics showed up to work. He said he would keep me posted. I wasnt happy but said please keep me posted.By 6:00pm I had still not back 6:11pm I left a message on his cell phone asking what was happening and when could I expect a mechanic.October **, 201312:15pm left another message on cell phone.2:20pm called the office and spoke with a woman. She would get a message to [redacted], she knows he is having truck trouble today.October 23, 201312:49pm left [redacted] a voicemail on cellphone.4:36pm called the office spoke to [redacted] At this point I told him I was at a loss as what to do, youre not fixing the unit you installed, my calls are going unreturned. October **, 2013As of 11:15am I have still not heard from Ferme & Son. A case with Revdex.com will be opened today and possibly filing a small claims case to retrieve the almost $3,000 for the unit installed in February. I will call another company to replace the unit as soon as possible. The temperature is due to drop into the thirties tonight. At this time I would not feel comfortable or confident in using Ferme and Son.Desired Settlement: Full amount paid for condenser unit and install. $2,932.
