Fernando's Jewelry Repair Reviews (%countItem)

I was gifted a teardrop shaped Pandora ring purchased online. I went to Fernando's Jewelry Repair to be resized.

The man that "repaired" my ring completely sawed off the "14k rose gold plated" engraving on the interior part of the ring. The jeweler sawed the entire half of the ring where the cubic zirconia wasn't at, but some how still managed to damage the cubic zirconia setting at the end on the left side.

He proceeded to blame Pandora for the cubic zirconia setting to be damaged when it was not damaged. I've owned 3 other Pandora rings with no issues like this.

I went with my mother who is more fluent in spanish to tell him what happened and how the color looks of a reddish rusty color after his job and I wanted compensation. He had the nerve to continue saying that he was not responsible for the color fading off because it was not real rose gold, although this is the entire half of the ring where he did the work on and rePAINTED the spot... Nonetheless refused any form of compensation and even had the gall to insult the price of the ring saying if it were real it'd be worth more.
He took the ring from my mother's hand to poor some unknown liquid onto the portion he sawed off from and said this will say if it was fake or not, then just rePAINTED the faux color again onto the ring to try to compensate for the damage he has already been done.

This is extremely offensive and inexcusable to insult what was gifted to person. This man not online insulted me he offended me with his poor behavior and did not want to compensate me ANY, no even the $25 for the ring repair. The ring's price alone listed on Pandora is $125.

Not one did this main ever explain to me the possibilities of what could go wrong or happen to the ring BEFORE doing work on it.
The gentleman even removeed most of my photos with damages to show he did a "good job".
Product_Or_Service: Ring repair

Desired Outcome

Replacement I genuinely cried because thia was a promise ring gifted to me and for a person to not only damage a ring and not even inform me before doing any service what the chances are something could go wrong, but he was so insincere when I came back with the issues to him, and nonetheless no compensation whatever. I would like my ring to be replaced by this man since he ruined the one what was gifted to me.

Fernando's Jewelry Repair Response • Feb 17, 2020

We are really sorry for the inconvenience but the ring that she brought to the shop, said by her own words, is rose gold plated ring, it means is not gold and when you resize it, the bath of gold plating will fall off, if it was a real 14k rose gold ring made out of rose gold, the color would had never changed, that's why when we receive a piece that is not real gold we always tell our clients that the piece is bathed on gold or plated and it will fall of eventually because when we are doing a resize, we have to put more metal on the piece, because is not gold, putting rose gold on the piece would have never worked, sorry again for the inconvenience and we will be thankful for understanding, we told her that she can go to any jewelry store and ask for herself what happens when you resize a ring with a bath of gold or a gold plated ring.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The repairman did not inform me of any possible damage that could be done prior to the work that he did and when I was unsatisfied with this he proceeded to blame the maker of the ring and told me to "ask any jeweler". I do NOT find this to be acceptable if a repairman damages a ring NO MATTER THE PRICE of the item. That is irrelevant, damage was done without warning, not only was the text sawed off, there was damage done to the setting of the cubic zirconia on the last stone (that was blamed on the maker of the ring) and he damaged it more by sawing that down too so the design looks flat and worn, as well as it only being painted back whatever color he used. In the photos you can see where all the work has been done. I would like compensation. I find this to be an extremely unreasonable response and dishonorable thing to do to a person.
