My wife and I had the pleasure and luck, of dealing with Mr. Semple at Fertility Solutions International in 2018. I have been meaning to write this review but it kept getting put off. Well with the birth of our child Max last month I felt it was high time to express my gratitude.

We were referred to Mark though a contact who had used his company for a successful IVF procedure. We had a conference call with Mark that was scheduled to last 20 minutes that he graciously stretched into 1 hr. He felt it imperative to advise us that the chances of a successful birth via IVF were extremely low due to my wife's age and fertility issues. We had failed 3 times with a local Vancouver clinic and simply could not afford another $20K. He was very firm that he recommended against another round and felt we would just be setting ourselves up for another heartbreak and be out the money. Initially my wife was upset by this (as you can imagine being told it was extremely unlikely that she could have her baby naturally) Later upon reflection she was happy that she was not getting an unrealistic picture of her chances. She felt the local clinic was "sugar coating" the chances of a successful pregnancy. Mark gave us the raw stats and this allowed us to make an objective decision.

In the end, we took Mark's advice and he set us up with a clinic in Ukraine where we did an egg donation program with a local surrogate. It took some time for my wife to come around to the idea of another woman carrying the baby and of course using another woman's egg but she quickly realized this was the best and really only chance (other than adoption) to have a baby. The process was extremely smooth and actually easier than I could have imagined. It still seems kind of crazy how the process works. The professionalism of the clinic and staff was amazing and we felt informed and taken care of every step of the way. Mark literally held my wife's hand through the process and without his help, patience, confidence and knowledge she never would have embarked on this journey. If you can imagine, the leap from another round of IVF to egg donation and surrogacy in a foreign country in a few months was a huge one.

The ending was a very happy one and we have our delightful healthy son back in Canada. We will always be grateful to Mark for everything he has done for our family.

We are very detail-oriented and thorough people, so when we decided to do surrogacy, we conducted a lot of research on IVF and gestational surrogacy issues and the various firms and coordinators who work in the area. Many of them had very little information, spoke in generalities, made unrealistic claims, and did not have proven records. When we spoke to Mark Semple, we instantly knew he was the coordinator for us. As a gay couple, he made us feel at ease and had a lot of other gay clients so he knew the particular legal aspects related to gay surrogacy. All of this convinced us he was the surrogacy coordinator for us. One of the things I appreciated most was that Mark provided realistic scenarios and always advised us of risks and things to consider when we made decisions along the way... he never made promises or over-state the situation. Mark took care of all parts of our surrogacy plan, from the medical consultation, to selecting a surrogate, and the IVF process. He kept us micro-informed throughout our 10-month journey; he would often reply to our e-mails within minutes and always provided substantive, solid information. We always felt that we were in good hands and I could not imagine having gone through this journey with anyone other than Mark to guide us and arrange all of the services. From our initial consultation, to the pregnancy, to the birth and return home of our child, Mark was a true partner and committed to our success.
