I went in made a partial payment and they are now claiming that no payment was made at all. Its causing issues with trust in my relationship now.
On *** I took $*** payment in to , he said im all set didn't offer me a receipt and is now claiming I never made the payment. As a result of his lying my partner thinks im lying. They repossessed my truck under the claim I didnt have I insurance and didnt make a payment even tho I made the partial first payment. Now when I ask for a receipt they claim I didnt pay anything at all.

Desired Outcome

I would just like them to honor the partial payment i made even if its not a full payment i dont appreciate them causing issues in my home life.

Fell behind due to hardship and they blocked me in at son's school and intimidated me to take the car. Also trying to get a double recovery.
I purchased a used *** or *** from Fett's last year, not sure what date it was as they took it with all my paperwork with the car. I defaulted due to financial hardship in or around ***. They came to my son's school on ***, while I was waiting to pick him up and was trying to intimidate me to get the car back. They blocked me in, stood in front and on the side of my car, and I had to beg them to wait until my son was out so they could take us home at least. I called the main office at that time and they were extremely rude telling me that I had to pay the default of $*** plus a $*** repo fee. It was literally the day before payday and asked if they could set up the payment for the next day to cover the $*** so I wouldn't have a repo fee, but all the lady said was that they weren't playing these "games" with me. They also didn't give me any information as to where the car was being taken. One of the guys actually drove my children and I home, and then drove it from my house, so I know that it was still driveable etc when they took it. I didn't hear anything after that from them until this past Saturday, when I received a notification from a collection agency (***) that the entire balance of the loan was turned over to a to them in the amount of $***. The car's blue book was around $***, even when I bought it. When I bought the car (within a day or 2), I told the salesman that the gas gauge was broken, there was an oil leak, a knock in the engine and the ignition was sticking and even asked if I could use the downpayment I made towards a different car because I needed reliable transportation. He told me that I would have to come up with a completely separate downpayment and that I could take it to their shop in *** to get everything fixed, but would still have to pay for the repairs. I would have had to use a whole day to take it there and possibly not have it fixed. I cannot make a car payment plus pay for a rental on top of it. These issues cannot be held against me.

According to *** Law, a car lot has a legal obligation to notify me if they sell the car at auction and give me the day and time of said auction so I can choose to attend. They also have to try to sell it in a commercially reasonable manner which means they must act honestly and fairly when making the effort. Lastly, if they do not sell the car at all and choose to keep it, the debt should be cancelled. As long as they try to sell it in a commercially reasonable manner, and give me the proper notifications, I would at MOST owe the deficiency amount, not the entire amount because that is known as double recovery. It is completely unfair for them to try to make me pay another $*** when the value of the car is no where near that amount. That would be paying almost $*** for a car valued at $*** at most.

As far as the recovery of the car, they had my address and phone number the entire time and not once did anyone come to my door or try to call me to recover the vehicle in an amicable manner. Blocking me in at my son's school, with my children present, was completely uncalled for and the intimidation that was used scared not only myself but my children as well. It was humiliating and degrading being spoken to like that! The way it was handled was completely unprofessional and just not right. I could see if I wasn't being cooperative but they did not even give me the chance to be cooperative before doing this.

This car lot has horrible ethics and is not professional at all. Just because it's a Buy Here/Pay Here for people with less than perfect credit, does not give them the right to walk all over people or bully them into doing what they want. And it surely does not give them the right to try to collect over an above what the value of the car is, especially when I know they would've put it back on the lot and sold it for what was left on the agreement, if not more.

Desired Outcome

I am wanting proof provided of the value of the car, first and foremost. I also want proof of when and if they tried selling the car in a commercially reasonable manner. I want dates and times of the attemptes and the amount it was sold for. I want an itemized list of why they couldn't sell the car if they claim they were unable to after it was recovered. I also want a copy of the paperwork I signed from them since they took the car with the paperwork in it. I want them to retract the claim from the collection agency because I was not notified, in advance, that it would be turned over to a collection agency, which means that I didn't have the chance to even try to remedy the situation beforehand. I now have a $*** collection bill on my credit report that I feel I am not responsible for. I also do not feel that I am responsible for paying anything further as the blue book value of the car was so low, the amount of money that I had already paid towards it, including my down payment, was already more than the car was worth itself. Lastly, I want to let the public know that just because they are unable to go through traditional financing, doesn't mean that places like Fett's Motor City has a right to take advantage of them, intimidate them or bully them in any way. My paperwork was in the glove compartment when they took the car. I take responsibility for defaulting but I feel that I already paid the value of the car and then some and shouldn't owe anymore.

the car with a bad transmission ask for a different vehicle or to get it fixed neither one was done and now they're charging me on my credit r
I don't know the exact date but they did put it on my credit report for a car that I never even have for a week

Desired Outcome

Removed from my credit report. I just want it taken off my credit report and maybe get my down payment back for the car being that I only had the car for a few days.

Customer bought an as is vehicle. Signed 3 separate forms that state the vehicle is as is. Customer did not comply with payment dates or the fact that he needed to get insurance. Vehicle was repossessed for default of contract. Customer did not reclaim vehicle or attempt to get the vehicle back. Customer is still responsible for balance of contract at this time.

On *** I leased a *** for a *** down payment fee w/ a ***$ every two week payment to be made every weeks @52 times. AGREED.
I took my vehicle home. The next morning *** I was heading to work when the vehicle started to stall in the highway, pouring out all fluids. Contacted City Motors *** which he agreed to have someone come out to pick up the vehicle.
I was taking to the main sho where I initially leased the truck and the truck was taking to *** in *** to be worked on.
I described to *** what had happened and told him that I simply just want my *** down payment back. *** asked why and I replied because I could see there was already going to be problems with this vehicle. He said ? well I can't do that because you've already signed contract? I told him I refused to be forced into something I want out of and explaining to him that I had driven the vehicle 30 miles and that it had broken down less than 16 hours . He made a phone call then came back to me and started that his boss *** says that I only had one choice. Which was to pick another vehicle . So I drove all 19 cars that were on the lot that day AND NONE OF THEM WORKED. So *** agreed to let me try ANOTHER one Of there lots. By this time I was exhausted and told him again I just want my money back. He asked that I give him ONE week to fix the *** . So I did. It took *** 14 days to 'fix? the truck which made my first initial payment late but I spoke wit *** about correcting it from the 14 days they had it at the shop . Agreed and never did so assuming so I took in what should had been my FIRST payment of *** short *** dollars for some 'special ? they claim and also a *** dollar late fee. Spoke with *** which he agreed to come in an pay the *** on *** Woke @4:45 am to see my vehicle had been repode for none payment of *** plus ***. And an extra *$ fee that I never owed BECAUSE *** waved the 14 days due ,causing me to lose my vehicle. Not one workin

Desired Outcome

Refund Refund me ***what they've scammed me for with a non working vehicle (lemon) *** knew the cars were not up to standard and yet STILL forced me to lease the vehicle due to not giving me my money back

Fett's City Motor Center Response • Nov 27, 2018

Hello, My name is ***. I'm writing in response to this complaint on behalf of Fett's City Motor Center. Ms. purchased a as is vehicle. City motors fixed said vehicle for free. She did not fulfill the contract by making the payments on time. City Motors did not have to fix her vehicle for free but they did under a god will adjustment. That being said. They went above and beyond what was required for them to do. Had Ms. had to pay for the repairs then they would've worked out an arrangement for the payment. That was clearly explained to Ms. when she picked up the vehicle from the repair shop. She did not carry full coverage insurance or make her payments on time.

This business has a payment arrangement line. I made arrangements so I could get my plates. Found out the car was not in the business name. They repo.
Lease/Purchase Date: ***
Down Payment: ***
Special: They add *** more on the loan, which is weird
Vehicle: ***
Issues: They require full coverage and determine your deductible and the title was not in there name for me to plate it. Did not have the car more then 30 days and the repossessed it because I found out. *** in payment arrangements told me I could not plate the car until I made my first payment which I did. I have no records because it was all in the car. They tell you to leave your records in the car in case you get pulled over which is a lie. They tell you that so when they reposses it you no longer have records of the sale. The guy that sold me the car told me I could get my plates using the a *** a lien form and nothing about making my first payment which I still did. This place is ***.

Desired Outcome

I will paid what is owed but I want to be able to plate the car with no issues. I am not signing another contract or getting new in transits. It's not fair that I allow them time to get the car in there name but they will not allow me to make arrangements after they have an entire department that sets those up.

Fett's City Motor Center Response • Aug 28, 2018

You purchased the vehicle on *** and requested to get your plates 2 weeks after purchase with a partial first payment to the account. Our title clerk stated that you would need to become current with your first payment in order for the title application to be processed. Once that was done, the application and title would go to the DMV to be processed.
You were then in default of your contract by not paying a full payment on the vehicle and it was then repossessed. The vehicle is still in our possession due to non payment and lack of full coverage insurance.
Also, we request that the paperwork be kept inside the vehicle until plated to show the invoice and purchase agreement in the case that the customer is pulled over.
