Review: A few days before my car was scheduled to be picked up [redacted] called me and told me that they would allow me to put 100lbs worth of items in my car to ship. I later found out that this is completely illegal. I also paid for the company to deliver the car directly to my front door but they asked if I could meet them somewhere else because they were unable to get a smaller truck to deliver my car to my front door. They then delivered the car at 10pm at night where I could not see properly to inspect the car for damage although I was still forced to sign for receipt of my car. The items that I did leave in the truck of my car were taken although they did leave 1 shoe out of a pair and my Christmas card in the truck where they were once in boxes.Desired Settlement: The items taken were not significant but this company is transporting personal items in cars without telling their customers it is illegal. They are also requiring customers to pay for a service (delivering to the front door) which they did not actually provide and require customers to sign for cars late at night where they are unable to see if any damage was incurred during transport.

Review: I had my car transported from Virginia to my residence, Castaic Ca. The car is supposed to be delivered on July 18, 2014. It was delayed for 8 days because they claim that the transport vehicle had a mechanical breakdown near Freeway 15 and 210. I even told them that I will pick up the car myself from their garage in Fontana and the transport manager told me that they will surely deliver it and that he will call me. It was finally delivered on a hot Saturday around 11:00 to 12:00 noon, July 26, 2014. The following day I am parking my car inside my garage and I saw so many broken glasses all over the car then I discovered that they had replaced the windshield with a cheap aftermarket windshield. The rear view mirror was not properly installed and full of grease/oil/dirt. My Virginia State Inspection Sticker on the windshield was also gone. I called the transport manager and he told me that that is not his job. He told me to call the owner, [redacted] who do not answer my phone calls. I wrote various e-mails without any answer. Finally he answered back our e-mail on August 7, telling us that we should request a claim form from their office, and claims cannot be processed by e-mail. I have sent the claim form via registered mail with return receipt and it was successfully delivered and signed for by their company on August 14, 2014. I emailed Arman and ask for the status and up to now, August 22, 2014 he has not yet responded as to the status of my claim or if he has read it.The General Manager of Volkswagen in Valencia can attest to the fact that the windshield was replaced as I had them inspect the car on July 27. FHT Transport almost get away with their deception of changing my windshield without informing me. How could they account for the 8 days delay in the delivery of my car. They cant deliver the car on time because they have to replace the windshiel and let it dry for days. They have to replace my windshield. I will let go with the VA State Insp. Sticker.Desired Settlement: For them to replace my windshield with an original VW windshield . I will let go with the Virginia State Inspection Sticker that they stole.

for them to stop this unethical business practice.

Review: I was told a specific price for the shipping of my car with up to 100 lbs in the small honda civic. I had some blankets and sheets in the car which I know was less than 100 lbs. Without weighing the driver when trying to deliver was very rude and asked for $250 dollars more or he wouldn't deliver the car. He was verbally abusive. I then went to talk to the broker and a manager and we then agreed on the original price of $900 and set up the delivery date. On the day of the delivery of my car, the drive gave me a 4 hour window for which he was over 8 hours late for. When we finally met, he refused to release the car unless I paid him the extra $250 for total of $1150. He started to throw my stuff out of my car and was slamming my car doors. He was aggressive and violent. I had to call the police for fear of my safety. I then again talked to the manager who now noted there is nothing he can do. They claimed that I had more then 100 lbs in my car, which there was not. Even if there was, I was told it would be $1 per lb over 100 lbs. In a small civic, if there were asking for an additional $250, they are trying to say that there is 350 lbs worth of stuff in a small civic. They were playing games with me the whole time. Ultimately, I wanted the car back for work, so I ended up paying the extra money to get the car back.Desired Settlement: I would like to the get the money back that I overpaid.

Business

Response:

We have the prof that this customer had more than 300 pounds in his vehicle and thus he was charge $200 more not $250 for the personal belongings he had put in the vehicle. It was stated in the email to him before his car was picked up and in the inspection sheet he signed at the time of pick up. We can email pictures for prof.

Thank you,

Review: To whom it may concern:

I had contracted FHT Auto Transport to transport my vehicle from California to Virginia as part of a relocation. The contract stated that the delivery would take 7-10 days from June 28th when the car was picked up. The deposit was provided to the driver at pick up with the remaining balance due at delivery. As of July 14th, the car has not been delivered to VA as contracted and calls to FHT are not helpful. We are usually provided the number to the driver in which there is never a response. On the afternoon of July 14th, I received a call from someone claiming to be the driver who said that he would deliver the car to us on July 15th between 10a-12p. He was nice enough to say that they would call 30 -45 minutes in advance of arriving. Well, on the day of the 15th, the window passed and there was no phone call made. After calling the california number a nice woman found out that the vehicle had broken down but provided a number for us to contact. The number provided goes unanswered and when we call back to the office, they just say I gave you the number to call the driver. I attempted to call the driver again in the evening and there was a response and he said he was "under the truck" working on it. At this point, we have not been provided a timetable on the delivery of our vehicle and the fullfillment of the contract. I am concerned as calls to the office have turned unhelpful and in fact, the "part owner" of the business turned rude when I demanded to escalate and demand some information. This company is really not willing to fulfill their contract or even feel bad that they haven't delivered it to this point. We are not looking for compensation or refund just our vehicle which they are not indicating when it will arrive even though we are beyond the dates they said it would arrive. We ar not sure where else to turn to get this matter resolved for us. Thank you.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a well written email outlining specifically when the vehicle will be delivered and a phone call for every hour that the window of delivery has been missed. We rely on our vehicles and the company sense of urgenct to resolved is all we are looking for.

Review: My car was transported cross country and on delivery the car was missing the spoiler. I have several pictures of where the spoiler was connected and it has been torn off. This was noted on the bill of Lading and a claim was submitted.

FHT denied the claim stating they do not cover loose or fragile accessories or any attached accessories. The Bill of Lading notes no damage to the spoiler at pickup and the spoiler is factory installed option (as shown on my invoice for the car). This spoiler is permanently installed to the hatch of the car and is not removable.

Additionally this company will book all services over the phone, but the claims process is done by the owner and I have only been able to talk to him twice from over a dozen attempts with each time stating that I can just mail in my forms, but he will not talk about claims over the phone. The remaining attempts I left voice mails all of which went unanswered. this lack of communication makes it difficult to know if they received the submitted forms, etc.Desired Settlement: I desire that my spoiler for my car is replaced.

Review: I purchased a vehicle on eBay Motors. The seller of the car paid for shipping and contracted with FHT Auto Transport to transport the vehicle from New Jersey to my home in San Fernando, California. FHT Auto Transport informed me on July 21, 2014 that the vehicle would be delivered to my home on July 23, between 7 and 11 a.m. When that time came and went, I contacted FHT Auto Transport and was told there was a miscommunication regarding the loading of the vehicle, and that the vehicle would be delivered on July 26, 2014, between 8 and 11 a.m. When that time came and went, I again contacted FHT Auto Transport and was told to contact [redacted], the president of FHT Transport, concerning a "problem." When I called [redacted], he told me that when the vehicle was loaded onto the carrier, it dripped battery acid onto a vehicle below, damaging that vehicle's paint. I told him that was unfortunate, but had nothing to do with the timely delivery of my vehicle. He then said the damage would cost $800 to $1000 to repair, and demanded payment. As I was not a party to the contract, had no connection with any damaged battery, and had yet to see or touch the vehicle, I told him I would not pay and demanded delivery of my vehicle. He refused to deliver the vehicle. When I asked him for the vehicle's location so that I could pick it up myself, he refused to give me the location (I later discovered it was in a lot near [redacted] in Fontana, California). I informed him that he had no right to hold my vehicle, since no money was due on the shipping contract and the damage to the other car was a civil matter between me, the seller, and the owner of the damaged car. He refused to release my vehicle or even tell me where it is (when I visited the lot, the vehicle had been moved elsewhere). Essentially, FHT Auto Transport has committed the tort of conversion by wrongfully withholding my vehicle without legal justification.Desired Settlement: The car should be delivered to my address without further delay.

Poor service. I was shipping my POV from Camp Pendleton to MCB Quantico. The driver was late and refused to answer questions when called. The dispatcher, [redacted], extension 102, was blatantly disrespectful when called multiple times and was not able to track the driver or my truck over multiple days. I have a friend picking up my vehicle and he has been in the dark for the last two days.
