Fibromyalgia and Neuromuscular Pain Center of Oregon Reviews (3)

My complaint with the Fibromyalgia center still is unclear why they did not tell me that they were not in-network with my medical insurance company. I took my folder into their office at my first visit after getting coverage with them. The Pain center looked at my coverage and the office manager asked if they could keep my folder. Never at that time or any other time from January 2015 through May 2015 or even the full year did they ever tell me that they were not in-network at that time with my insurance. They also told me that I should have been looking at my EOB papers from my insurance company. I did not even get any until after May 2015 because Pain center did not start billing the insurance company until after they were in-network with insurance company. The other reason I did not understand why I would have an outstanding balance is because they only charged me my copay amount at every appointment for an in-network office visit.
I went to their Pain Center in 2014 and was given a discount rate on my visits because of no medical  insurance and paid the amount that they were going to charge me for each visit with my credit card. They new at this time that I had a limited income.
On the amount that was charged to me on my statement they added some of these extra charges in.
I called into the Pain Centers office on 5/11/2016 and asked about medical in-network coverage for insurance and at that time was told that they were in-network.
So if they tell me that now why would they not tell me this before.
I would not have gone to this Pain Center if I would have known of their out of net-work status because if did not have the money to pay an office for out-of network care. I was careful to find a medical plan that would help with Mental Health coverage but was mislead. Or I would have waited to seek help after they were in network with my insurance.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because my personal health information has no relevance to the over-charges and unwarranted drug testing.
I came to this facility for counseling. I am finding out now that 'pain management centers' are where people on highly addictive drugs go to try and get off their medication.
I had no idea that is what you guys do. And that is part of why we are not seeing eye to eye. I am not hooked on any meds. (I take anti-inflammatory NSAIDs like Advil)
Dr. Misha was listed in my network as an available counselor - and you guys thought I was on some sort of addictive pain medication.
I was just looking for marriage, life & anxiety counseling. And you guys were screening me like some sort of druggie.
So we are both dealing with this do to an error.
If you could reverse my fees/charges that incurred from seeing Dr. Chris ( who was also scratching his head wondering why I was in his office ) and I will pay the balance of the 2 or 3 missed/rescheduled appointments.
I would suggest a clearer explanation of what it is you guys do in your clinic, so others are not being seen ( and billed ) for the wrong reasons.
Or billed and seen for the right reasons. I wanted a new counselor, not go to drug addition center.

Sincerely,
[redacted]
