Dear *** ***,I am responding to Complaint ID ***.This is my response to *** ***'s complaint.I hired an Installer who informed me that he had years experience installing counter tops, he installed a job the day before ***'s job was installed and I was informed by the customer that
he done a good job and I got paid for the completed workI sent this installer to ***'s home to install his counter top and I was informed by *** that the quality of the installation was not good, I was concerned about this complaint because my goal is to maintain the highest standard in proper installation and quality service to all my customersSo I sent another installer to correct the problem, from the installer's inspection of the work I was informed that the quality of the installation was not good, I did inform *** that all of the problems with the counter top installation was fixable*** informed me that he did not like the color of the counter top that he picked he picked out, and he wanted to change the color, I informed *** that the counter top would be installed correctly and every problem would be fixed and I also informed him that it would be to expensive to change the colorHe offered to pay an additional $to change the color and I informed *** that this was not going to work, he got upset and started yelling at me and stated he did not want the same counter tops installed.I explained to *** that I have a signed contract by him, and I am going to follow what was agreed upon by both parties, and he continued to yell at me stating he did not want the same counter top and, he wants a different colorI also talked to *** regarding the gap on the wall, and that this was his problem to fix, but since we made a mistake I would re template and re cut to fit another piece of quartz to cover the gapThe complaint about the raise bar top not being leveled has nothing to do with my counter top installation, the support on the bottom should be handled by the cabinet worker's or a qualified general contractor they need to support on the bottom so the counter top will supportedI don't deal with the bottom of the counter top my job is to install the top of the counter. The complaint regarding the sheetrock, a contractor would have informed *** that he needed to take the sheet rock off so that the cabinet would have been a standard inches, with the sheet rock intact my template would be wrong since we did the template on top of his old counter topWith the 1/inch sheet rock in tact it made my template 1/inch wrongI never told *** that I would take the old counter top to the dump, but if he wanted me to perform this service there would have been $charge for this service to be done, this was never discussed so it was not added to the contract this is not my response ability, I leave this decision up to the customer.Four days later I texted *** that I was ready to come and re install his counter top and fix all of the previous counter top issues, he stated he did not want the same counter top he wanted a different color , so I informed *** that I have a signed contract by him, and I will re install what he purchasedSo I am still waiting for *** to contact me so I can complete the job that I was hired to do $will not cover the cost of a different color counter top, the problem in this situation *** wants a new counter top color to be purchased for only $and this is not going to work the material cost more then that

Mr *** wanted to change the color of the counter top because he did not like the color that he picked out the bottom line is he wanted me to buy another slab and pay 1/of the cost myselfMr *** stated he would give me $to cover the other half, this amount would not cover the cost of a new slabWhen I get a call from a customer to do a bid on their job I always go over the contract with them and have them pick the color that they want! This is a very important process and one I do not take lightlyI did tell Mr *** that I would come and finish the job and that it would be done correctly, I am aware that the installer that I hired did not do a good job and did not complete it to my satisfaction, and I was willing to make it right according to my contract.Mr *** stated that if I don't change the color of the counter top he does not want me to finish the job, I did explain to him that all I had to do to fix this problem was to recut another piece of quartz it would be an easy repair and I would send a master installer to fix itThere was a problem with the wall and Mr *** wanted me to fix it and I told him this is something that he as the home owner had to do, but I was willing to recut another piece of quartz to cover the gapSo started yelling at me because he wanted to change the color and I yelled back at him, that I was not going to change the color a new contract would have had to be written up showing the changeSo as you can see we were both in a disagreement regarding this matterAnd I as told by Mr *** to get out of his house, so I stated to Mr *** that I am going to stand by my contract and finish what we agreed too.And as far as me having a complaint on KSL if this was the case why did Mr *** call me to do his job this does not make any senseMy number one goal is to have a good relationship with my customer's and to do a excellent job with the installation of their counter topsI did want to work all of this out with Mr *** but I never did hear from him, when a customer is not satisfied with the color they choose and they don't like the counter top once they get it in to their home, it is up to them to cover the cost of buying a new counter topIf Mr *** wants to go to small claims court that will be fine I am sorry this had to end in this manner.Regards,Tevita F*

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:Tevita keeps harping on me wanting to change the color of the counters, which is only incidental to how he behaved this entire timeHis craftsmanship was poor and he never honored meeting times or did what he said he was going to doI don't want to go back and forth anymoreI will be taking him to court.
Sincerely,
*** ***

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I never yelled at this man. He screamed at me in my kitchen and banged his fist into my cabinets when I was calmly trying to explain the previous problems in person so we could avoid them. He was refusing to buy a new slab for the new counter top to replace the faulty one, he was trying to re cut it. The seam was terrible and the gap between the wall was huge. I offered to buy a different color of granite because I had lost faith in his ability to do a seam that was less visible. Tevita constantly no showed me when he would tell me he would be there or call me. Upon further investigation, we found nearly an identical complaint on KSL about him being rude and unprofessional and the craftsmanship being bad. After dealing with his incompitence and rudeness for over two weeks, we decided to save ourselves the trouble and hire somebody professional to do the counters. He completed them within a week and also did the counter with no seam at all. The slab we purchased was the exact same size. I will be taking Tevita to small claims court.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
