Fiehler & Associates Inc. Reviews (2)

I used Tom Fiehler at the recommendation of a heady realtor too lazy to do comps. It was likely the worst experience in the entire home sale process. Tom overcharged by 200 dollars vs. what the realtor told me his fee would be, he never disclosed this though we spoke repeatedly before he spent 10 minutes or so at the property to "appraise" it. He then proceeded to take 2 weeks to send me a summary with no backing information, just a bottom line figure, 50 grand below what 10 realtors with experience and detailed comps brought forward. He didn't even have the right location on the report that I had to get from the realtor, to this day Tom Fiehler never produced a copy for me. He did not respond when I told him he didn't even have the correct location, he comped it against an area where houses sell for 30% less perhaps less vs. the location of the home. The house is on 4 acres wooded and clear, rolling , a real creek (wide and deep) 60 foot bridge done professionally, 1000 sf deck, paver drive. He compared it to track houses in the less desirable area on small postage stamp flat lots. He has been threatening me with liens (home already sold for more than his value) court. Couldn't even get the township correct, useless comps, not a good guy, don't recommend. Has no conscience. Never responded to any of my pointing out his mistakes. no response at all till the threats started.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The laws that do not allow for the appraiser to disclose what he was waiting on is not the issue in this case at all.  If so, I would understand the original delay...being delayed from July 27th (due date) to actually receiving the appraisal report on August 8th.  However, when the appraisal was reviewed and communicated back to the appraiser on August 12th that the wrong list of improvements was included in the appraisal report and he need to make a small change to the report by removing the wrong list of improvement with the correct list of improvements.  The correct list of improvements was provided to the appraiser on August 12th and he finally responded on August 16th with a PDF version and another 2 days before providing the XML Version.  So I took 30 days to get the appraisal.  It doesn't matter how long it takes in other parts of the world.  It doesn't pertain to me or my ability to move my family into my home.  If a date is promised as of July 27th and that date can't be met, you respond quickly and let the 3rd party appraiser know the problem.  And I as the owner of the house don't know why a Third Party appraiser was involved, what I do know is that the appraiser, Tom Fiehler spent the entire 2 days after sending the PDF version of the correct appraisal on Facebook posting Republican party information all day, on the hour, ever single hour...so there I no excuse for taking two additional days to do an appraisal report in an XML version versus a PDF Version.  You aren't waiting on anything but your own time management skills to actually do the work intended.
