This comes as a complete surpriseI remember putting this patio inOther than minor touch up which was completed shortly after the patio was installed, I never heard from the customer againIf they had issues, why did they wait for three years to file a complaint with the RevDex.com without contacting me directlyI would be more than happy to take a look at the patio now to review their issuesHowever, it is beyond the warranty period and I wish they had contacted me immediately after the patio was completed As far as a lien, I was unaware of that I do know that I had a dispute with one of my concrete suppliers that is located outside of [redacted] I was aware that they did try and file a lien on one property I was unaware of this one I do know that all concrete on this project was paid for in a timely manner

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I had a mason lined up to do the work on my home and he had given me an estimate of $300-to repoint part of my chimney as well as repairing a few cracks underneath a few of the windows on the main house. I waited for him all summer but he was too busy with a big project for *** *** so I decided I should look for someone else as I wanted the work done before the winter. I went on *** to research another mason and found Mark had excellent reviews so I called him. He came over within a few days and looked over the job. He pointed out the flashing on my season porch needed repair so I had him include that in his estimate. When he quoted me $I said I thought that was high but he said the job would take a two man crew a couple of days to complete so I agreed to have him do it because to me that meant around hours of laborThe day Mark called to say he was doing the work he said he would be here after noon so when a large group of men showed up I assumed he would be here shortly. The six or seven men that showed up well ahead of him and were “cleaning” their tools across the street on my neighbor’s yard and being extremely noisy. Mark finally showed up around 1PM and got three of the men started on my house and said he had to take the other crew over to another job but would be back shortly. He never showed up again until close to 5PM. The crew were working on different parts of the house but were trying to talk amongst themselves so they were hollering the whole time they were working. It only took the three of them a couple of hours to do the work and that included taking breaks to make phones calls. They had to wait for Mark for close to two hours after they finished and in that time they sat around “partying” as well as wandering into a couple of my neighbors yards (one to check out her fountain in the side yard across the street from me). I was very upset by the time Mark got back so I wanted to talk to him to see if he had other crews that would be more professional and quieter when he has jobs in quiet neighborhoods because I wanted to recommend he use them for jobs like mine in the futureSo I asked him if he had crews that weren’t Hispanic because I assumed these guys were probably illegal aliens and needed some training before he left them to work on their own. He immediately called me racist which is so far from the truth. I worked with illegal aliens in the backstretch at the *** Race Track for years so I saw firsthand how they are taken advantage of so I am very sympathetic to them. If you read my emails below that I sent to Mark you will see why I think he should have given me a partial refund because he overcharged me for the work his crew did as well as not completing the work he said he would do

Ms*** has her facts wrong. First, I gave her a fair estimate. Had she been uncomfortable with the estimate, she should not have gone forward with the work. I do not estimate work based upon hours of labor alone. It will include the type of work, the danger or complexity
of the work among other things. Ms*** referred to my men as illegal aliens. I explained to her that being of *** *** dissent, they were United States citizens. Apparently she has racist tendencies from working with illegal aliens at the *** Race Track. Information she told me that I would rather not have heard from her. It absolutely incenses me when people refer to my workers by their race. They did their job. I am sorry that they sometimes spoke in a different language than she wanted to hearI did return once more after the job was completed to acid wash the repointing that we did on the brick. Which is a very common circumstance that I undertook without issue. Ms***'s reference to two other items being completed is erroneous. We did some additional repointing on her back foundation. I offered to do one additional spot that she declined at the time. The flashing issue that we discussed that I would look at was put on hold because she had subsequently hired a roofing contractor to do her roofI am sorry that Ms*** was not happy with her contract. The fact of the matter is that the repointing that we did was done correctly without issue. She has apparently created issues in the aftermath because she was unhappy that men of *** *** dissent worked on her property or that she somehow felt she overpaid for the work. As a courtesy, I did give her a downward adjustment to her contract. I am comfortable with the work that we did. I am also comfortable that my original quote was a fair and reasonable one that she has already admitted to accepting. Sincerely, Mark Ogden AAA Masonry Revdex.com spoke to Mark and additionally the following was relayed: The flashing was not part of the jobWe had discussed but she did not make up her mind and decided to have a roofing company do

I clearly explained to *** that her landing and steps had settled over the years. The landing was pitched down and the vinyl siding even matched that pitch. I encouraged her to add a third step which would have allowed me to create a better spacing for the steps and landing. She
refused to let me form and pour a third step. Accordingly, I formed and poured the steps and landing as they were originally. I also refurbished a wrought iron railing which was set in the concrete steps at the time of the pour. It is simple math/geometry. She has too much height from the door threshold to the sidewalk to have a proper step onto the landing and then two steps to the sidewalk. Each step was close to 8". I did not feel a higher step was appropriate. I offered to resurface the landing to add some more height to the landing and lessen the slope. However, that would make the rise inconsistent with the bottom step. She did not pay me in full for this project as she said that some of the paint came off her side door and threshold. I offered to repaint that even though it was quite clear that her door and trim where quite blistered and peeling prior to my work. It is clear from looking at the siding that I matched the slope that existed prior to the work. I would be happy to work with her to try and resolve the matter. However, I will not tear out the steps and landing. I formed and poured the steps as she requested. Because she now thinks the pitch or slope is too great is not my responsibility. She acknowledged that I did inform her of my intention to make it three steps so the rise and run were more consistent. She balked at that recommendation and instructed me to pour them as two steps. Finally, her statement that I am angry at her is without merit. I want to complete all projects to the satisfaction of all of my clients. Unfortunately I know that cannot always happen. That is especially true where customers stray from the recommended process or insist on their controlling the project once we have begun

The parging on the Concret blocks is cracking and beginning to flake offThe Concret sidewalk has several thru cracks the width of the walk

After Mr*** called me about his walkway in the summer I took his call and said I would stop by to take a look. I did stop by and left my
card. I did this twice but unfortunately missed him each time. After he filed this complaint I called him and stopped over again to review the work with him. I also had a concrete expert accompany me on this trip. We reviewed the sidewalk and the parged foundation walls. At that time he showed me a small area about the size of a dollar bill that was peeling. I said that was a warranty item and that I would be happy to return to fix that small area. As far as the small cracks in the sidewalk I stated to him that cracks like those were unfortunate but not a warranty item. He said they would be fine if they had occurred at the stress cuts. Unfortunately, one was nearly on a stress cut and one was not. The point is that all concrete has the potential to crack. Sometimes it happens in the first forty eight hours and sometimes it takes yearsThe work was done according to the contract and was to code. I used psi concrete with wire mesh. I offered to caulk the cracks even though they were negligible and had no separation. I regret that I was not able to satisfy Mr***. I am more than willing to return to fix the small area of the foundation where the renovation did not fully adhere. As an aside, it is in an area that has foliage touch the foundation so to increase the moisture content at that area. It is often recommended that all plants, vines and anything that can hold moisture should be removed from any foundation or vertical block or brick on a structure. I would also be happy to caulk the cracks as best as I am able to
