Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
Attached is the agreed upon schedule of the event....

This was a traditional Nigerian ceremony, which follows a different process than American styled weddings.   Emails sent to Evelyn and Fiesta deluxe dated on 7/**/2015 (one month before the event) specifies a 6:05pm entrance of groom and a 6:10-6:30pm entrance of bride. Fiesta deluxe confirmed receipt of the email on 7/**/2015. Video and photographic evidence shows the groom entering at 6:34pm and the bride at 7pm(not 8 pm) as stated by Fiesta Deluxe.   Please see the following YouTUBE channel for the entire ceremony [redacted] . I would like to see Fiesta Deluxe surveillance video that contradicts timing. I would also encourage fiesta to submit time stamps/ or video evidence shows that every table got champagne and coffee and tea (which was contractually obligated). The contract is attached.I am also attaching a photo of the food provided to vegetarians, who were to get a Pasta dish. Some non-vegetarians got the pasta dish with meat and the vegetarians got rice. Inconsistent service.

Review: I am writing to follow up regarding my traditional engagement ceremony, which took place on Saturday August **, 2015. I worked with Evelyn M[redacted], the point person at Fiesta Deluxe, for the months leading up to the ceremony. In that time she was polite and flexible, allowing us to craft a menu (based on their online menu). Prior to our event, we insisted on having a food tasting. Food was very important to us. Our tasting was in March 2015, and consisted of a fruit and cheese platter included 5 types of cheese, various crackers, Italian antipasto, generous portions of stewed chicken, rice and peas, grilled asparagus and sausage and peppers. After the tasting and some email correspondence back and forth between Evelyn and I, we gave feedback on the food. On July **, 2015 we finalized a menu of cheese, crackers, fresh fruit platter, antipasto and warm passed beef patties to start. For entrees we agreed on balsamic chicken, oxtail, plain white rice and a vegetarian option of ricotta stuffed pasta shells. As written in our contract, our meal was to include a complimentary champagne toast. We provided the cake and Fiesta was to provide coffee and tea. —Fiesta confirmed receipt of this email (dated 7/**/2015) and agreed to share it with their chef. The times we met with Evelyn, including the final walk through on Thursday August **, we were assured by Evelyn that our feedback was taken into consideration and that the food portions comparable to what we tasted.

On the day of the celebration, guests were served what appeared to be Ritz crackers with cubes cheddar and swiss cheese. Some guests reported receiving mini patties, some did not. Guests were given fruit of melon, grapes and strawberries. Some of the fruit was so overripe, it was inedible. There was no Antipasto.

Dinner service was poorly executed. We were told that we'd have one waiter for 2-3 tables. There were 2-3 people to serve 165 people. Prior to meal service, an announcement was made for guests to turn up the menu card to the green side to alert waiters if they wanted vegetarian food. Guests reported not being asked if they wanted a vegetarian meal. In addition they DID NOT serve the vegetarian pasta shells. One guest reported that his “vegetarian” plate consisted of the rice, with one piece of plantain and one sprig of broccoli. The meat meals consisted of a mound of rice, with a 2-inch sliver of chicken and the smallest oxtail on each plate. The “roasted vegetables” were steamed carrots and cauliflower—the type you find in your frozen food section of the grocery store.

Fiesta Deluxe ran out of food for our guests. The some guests did not get any oxtail, the last few guests received just chicken. Food service was so understaffed, that Evelyn herself was carrying out food. By the time the food came out, it was cold and lukewarm. The food that did come out was tasty, however it was clear that portions were tiny. Some guests asked for two plates in order to have enough food. I, the bride, was very hungry after dinner and ended up having to buy food after leaving the venue.

A far as drinks, I commend Fiesta on executing our signature drinks at the bar. Feedback from guests was that they were good. I tasted the rum punch and was satisfied. However, the service at the tables was lacking. Some tables went the entire evening (5hours!) without water being refilled. Two days later, my family is still getting calls from people about the dismal food service.

In terms of other services, the contract stipulated a complimentary champagne toast. We had 16 tables, there was not enough staff to serve champagne. I only observed 2 tables being served champagne. We proceeded with toasts without the champagne. When we enquired later about the champagne, we were told that it was “locked in Evelyn’s office”.

When the night concluded and we were looking for Evelyn to resolve some other issues that surfaced. We were told by the staff that she had left. She did not even alert my day of coordinator that she was leaving.

This venue has potential, but needs to figure out its management, especially for large groups. It appeared that Fiesta Deluxe was cutting corners with food service and staffing. It over promised and under delivered on contractual items. I am disappointed as the evening seemed to have started very positively and ended with a complete breakdown of service and lack of communication. I am requesting a partial refund based on Fiesta Deluxe not meeting the following contractual agreements:

-Provision of sufficient waiters for the 5 hour event time

-provision of a champagne toast

-Provision of a complete appetizer menu

-Provision of a complete Dinner menu

- Provision of coffee and tea

Fiesta Deluxe is not equipped to do catering. Based on industry standards for this size party, Fiesta needed to have had a floor captain, 5-6 Waiters, 2 bartenders, a runner, a culinary assistant, a service person and 1 porter. I have collected comparable quotes from other venues and labor is generally 30% of costs of hosting an event. Therefore, I am requesting $3,000 to be refunded based on lack of provision of sufficient personnel and lack of food.

I have called and left at message on 8/**/15, and followed up again two days later when I reached Evelyn to discuss. She said to put my complain in writing, which I did. In a September *, 2015 email, Fiesta responded by saying ,"after carefully reviewing your event, we regret to inform you that we cannot refund you any of the money for your event. We are a protected company and we are willing to provide you with sufficient evidence in a court hearing. The choice to proceed with legal action is solely up to you. "Desired Settlement: I am requesting a $3,000 partial refund based on Fiesta Deluxe not meeting the following contractual agreements:

-Provision of sufficient waiters for the 5 hour event time

-provision of a champagne toast to all 16 tables

-Provision of a complete appetizer menu

-Provision of a complete Dinner menu

- Provision of coffee and tea

Review: I am writing on behalf of the holiday party that was given for [redacted] hospital on 12/**/2014 at your facility. We had a signed and dated contract for originally 150 people. We were unable to get 150 people but gave you 130 and [redacted] of fiesta deluxe retracted the contract to 130 people. Up until the day before the party, we gave an additional 11 people, which made our total 141 people. We were made multiple promises in our contract for our party. We were told that we would have:-Valet parking-Open bar with soda, water, house vodka, rum, Bacardi, sangria, beer( Heineken ,corona, bud light) and wine( cabernet sauvignon, merlot, moscato)-The food on the menu that was picked out, including appetizers-Decorations-No dessert but tea and coffee-We had to supply our own DJ or hook up a iPod to your sound system-Table numbers for each table-Linens for the tableUnfortunately, a lot of these things were not kept on Fiesta Deluxe part, starting with-No valet parking when I arrived or anyone else for a matter of fact-No table numbers on the table and I had to repeatedly ask [redacted] at least 3 to 4 times for the table numbers ( she kept giving me table numbers like 20, 30,and other random numbers when I requested 1-15)-No sangria-People were being charged for drinks that were supposed to part of the open bar-No diet soda-The only appetizers that were served was 1 platter of COLD chicken wings, empanadas and a small tray of lobster rolls-There were paper napkins on the table instead of linen-Only 2 waiters to serve appetizers, the [redacted] waitress didnt speak any English and was serving lobster rolls and was unable to tell people what she was serving, in case someone had a shellfish allergy-Only 1 bartender per bar for 141 people, so a total of 2 bartenders for 141 people, the line for the bar stretched all the way to the dance floor practically-The appetizers that were passed out, never got to the back of the room-There was no specific dinner time announced, once again I had to hunt for [redacted] on 2 different occasions to find out when dinner was being served -Once dinner was being served, Fiesta Deluxe apparently ran out of food mid serving-There was no organization of the food serving because I had to keep looking for [redacted]-When I complained to the [redacted], I was told that [redacted] was not an event planner-I had multiple complaints of the food being cold-I was called into the office during the party and told that there were 15 extra people at the party when I had at least 10 place cards that were left at the front door from people who did not show up, there was one table that stayed empty most of the night (table 15). The place was beautiful, but there were so many problems. Everyone that came said they had a great time due to the DJ and us dancing but the service, the food and the overall experience of your establishment was horrible. We are requesting a refund of $3,500 half of our money that was paid for breach of contract. The only thing that was accommodated by fiesta deluxe was that they gave us 1 hour of open top shelf bar, but they kept the line so long with one bartender that only about 25 people was able to take advantage of that. Every year we always do a 50/50 raffle and give half of the money to a charity of choice but this year we werent able too because of all of the confusion and complete chaos of this event.Desired Settlement: we requested some type of refund. I have plenty of people including doctors, nurses and etc to all write statements if necessary.
