Items were dropped off to be washed. We took inventory of items sent. Upon return, a set of sheets costing 30$ were missing a long with an 80$ pants.
We dropped off laundry, and upon picking it up we realized items were missing. I called and was told that because we couldn't prove that the items were included there was nothing they could do.

Desired Outcome

Monies for the items lost. One set of sheets: 30$ One pair of pants: 80$ Total: 110.

I'm attempting to respond to a complaint, case #xxxxx about some lost laundry.
Fiesta Laundries, LLC has two locations in Asheville, North Carolina. I purchased the first business in 2004 on the west side of town and expanded with the second location in 2010 on the north-central area of Asheville, not far from xxxxx. We provide a clean safe environment to do laundry in our self serve coin operated machines or a drop off laundry service, better known as Wash Dry Fold, which is laundry that we do. Both laundries are open from 7:30 am until 11:00 pm with at least one attendant on duty at all times. All of our attendants have been with us from 2 to 7 years. Part of the reason we are able to retain good attendants is that when they are on duty it is like it is their business, they can accomplish the required tasks, drop off laundry, cleaning, etc. on their own time schedule. They also have the freedom to solve most problems on their own. When it comes to paying for supposed "lost" items over a certain dollar amount though they have to get my okay.
We have a very simple system for drop off laundry. A customer comes into the laundry, approaches the attendant area, is asked to fill out or we fill out for them an invoice with their name and contact information and any special instructions about how they want their laundry done. Then our attendant weighs the laundry, as the charge is by the pound, tells the customer how much it weighs and the charge, the customer can pay then or when they pick up the completed clean and folded or hung laundry. Next the attendant will record all of that information in a laundry logbook. Our attendant then sorts through the laundry separating colors and whites, checking pockets, etc. EACH customer's laundry is then done separately. Our turn around time is always less than 24 hours, usually 2-3 hours. We do 300-400 customers a month our system is simple, easy to follow to avoid just this type of complaint.
This complaint was called into our xxxxx laundry location on the north side of town. She talked with our manager at that location. She did not give her name, said she had dropped off laundry and picked it up a couple weeks ago, but could not remember the date. She was asking about some missing green pants, which were also described as grey in the same conversation, with an $80 dollar value. No mention of any missing sheets. She called several times and my manager looked for some green pants in our lost and found but found nothing. (You'd be amazed at how much laundry people leave in a coin laundry!) The attendant told the customer she couldn't refund that amount without approval, which is our policy. It also gives customers time to look more carefully around their home for the item that "we lost". Almost 100% of the time they find it.
I was out of town, at a funeral, so did not hear about this until returning. The manager had not heard any more from the customer and thought the problem solved until we received this notice.
Upon investigating further, we got the name from the Revdex.com complaint form, we have no record in our laundry log of this customer. Further if she would have given her name and the date of when she dropped off her laundry we could have easily checked our security system records, we have a camera in the attendants area that records the laundry as it is sorted and usually can quite quickly solve problems or answer questions. If the laundry was dropped off under someone else name we would be happy to repeat the search, but she has to give us the information to do so.
Finally, I have a very liberal refund policy because rarely on occasion laundry does get damaged, but I don't recall that we have ever lost one or two items out of a drop off customers laundry.

The laundry was dropped off under my partners name,xxxxx.

The pants are grey pants. I called three times and spoke to the manager on duty over a span of one week. I left my name as well as phone number.

I could not remember the exact date the laundry was dropped off.

I asked to speak to the owner and she said that was not possible. No alternative was given, and I was dismissed.

My pants were not returned, as well as a pair of sheets.

I have included a copy of the pants and their price as well as the sheets.

I need to be issued a check for the items that were not returned.

I sent a check to xxxxx today covering her clothing and a refund for her laundry drop off service. I did this, not because of the Revdex.com but because we mishandled the situation. By the time we got the name of the customer from you and could corelate that to when it was dropped off, it was over 30 days and gone from our video recording, so we could not disprove the claim.
