consultation, advice and opinion pertaining to certain legal matters. The advertisement in the Caribbean newspaper which advertised free consultation in fact advertised free consultations for medical malpractice, auto and pedestrian and related personal injury matters. The Complainant misread or misunderstood the advertisement and assumed that all consultations are free. As is customary, as her matter was a matrimonial one, my customary charge of $100 for consultation was communicated to her and the standard operating procedures were implemented in that the proposed client was handed a intake form to be filled and the fee was requested. Following this, she was seen by me. She explained her current situation and I offered her my opinion and advice. We are bound by attorney-client confidentiality and therefore cannot discuss nor disclose details of the complainant 's matter without her consent.
Again, perhaps the Complainant did not read the intake form in its entirety or did not pay attention to the fact that she was informed that should she have further questions or concerns regarding the matter, she would have seen that her receipt is at the foot of it , and that she could have called and/or schedule an appointment for further consultation up to 30 times within 30 days of the date of the initial consultation.
Our standard of care is optimal and we aim to provide potential and current cl ients with the best professional legal services in keeping with the integrity and morals of this esteemed profession. We are sorry that the Complainant underwent these feelings but aver that we are not guilty of any wrongdoing.

Review: DEAR SIR/MADAM,I'M WRITING TO YOU TO FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE TREATMENT I RECEIVED FROM THE OFFICE OF FIGEROUX & ASSOCIATES. I GOT THE REFERRAL THROUGH A CARIBBEAN NEWS PAPER WHICH ADVERTISED FREE CONSULTATION. I WENT TO SEE THEM ON MONDAY MARCH **, 2014. WHEN I WENT TO THE OFFICE TO SEE IF I COULD HIRE THIS OFFICE TO FILE A DIVORCE CASE FOR ME. I WAS HANDED A QUESTIONAIRE ON A BOARD WITHOUT A PEN. WHEN I ASKED FOR A PEN, THE [redacted] HANDED TO ME A BROKEN PEN. IT'S A GOOD THING I ALWAYS WALK WITH A PEN.BEFORE I COULD SEE THE LAWYER I WAS PRESSURED TO GIVE THE $100 CONSULTATION FEE WHICH I PAID BY MY DEBIT CARD.UPON ENTERING THE LAWYER'S OFFICE THE MAN DID NOT RAISE HIS HEAD TO INTRODUCE HIMSELF TO ME. IT FELT ODD. I WAS EXPECTING TO BE WELCOMED TO WHAT I THOUGHT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE PROFESSIONAL TREATMENT.I WAS IN HIS SEAT FOR LESS THAN 5 MINUTES AND WAS TOLD THAT THE COST OF HIS SERVICE WAS $1350.0,WHICH HAD TO BE PAID IN FULL,AND THAT IT WOULD TAKE 3 MONTHS.I NEED TO KNOW IF THIS IS THE WAY THE PROCESS IS OR IS IT THIS PARTICULAR BUSINESS. THEY TOOK MY MONEY WITHOUT GIVING TO ME A RECEIPT.I MIGHT NOT GET MY $100.0 BACK BUT WHEN I LEFT THAT PLACE I JUST FELT LIKE I WAS TAKEN.PLEASE SIR/MADAM, CORRESPOND TO ME AT MY E-MAIL ADDRESS PREFERABLY.THANK YOU FOR LOOKING INTO THIS MATTER. HOPING THAT IT IS NOT TRIVIAL.SINCELY[redacted]Desired Settlement: I FEEL THAT BECAUSE OF THE BAD TREATMENT I RECEIVED, I TRULY FEEL THAT I SHOULD GET MY MONEY BACK.
