Figlia and Sons, Inc.

I called this company at the end of May to do a repair on my built-in air conditioner in my apartment, to be ready for the summer. The service persons pulled the unit out of the housing, replaced a fan, and stuck the unit back in the wall. Some days later the weather got warm, I turned on the unit, and it leaked all over my wood floor, making the floor buckle and crack. I called to inform Figlia & Sons of the problem, and they sent someone out (I thought) to fix it. Instead, this person (a man named [redacted]) took pictures, told me he'd submit a report to his boss, that I'd receive a call from his boss the next day, and left. Four days later, when I still hadn't heard anything, I called and made sure I was connected to the boss ([redacted]), who told me he'd send yet more people out to look at the unit and try to find the problem. He also assured me he had a good flooring service who would be able to replace the damaged flooring. The repair people showed up yesterday (6/*/2015) and determined that the water coming from the a/c unit was the result of a blocked drainage line. [redacted] commented "Yeah, they (the original repair men) didn't clean it, so that's why . . ." The drainage line was cleared and the service people left. I received a second invoice this morning, and when I spoke to [redacted] again, he disclaimed any responsibility for the original poorly-executed and incomplete repair, for the resultant water damage, or for anything else. He suggested I file a claim with my own insurance company, even though it was obvious that 100% of the fault was with the poor workmanship of his employees. Having now consulted with my insurance company, as well as the American Bar Association of New York, I will be suing this company for repairs and damages.
