[redacted] - [redacted]Hi I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com and the company I complained about resolved my issue. The case shows closed but I wanted to update with the resolution so that I can show the company followed through.

Revdex.com:At this time, my complaint, ID [redacted] regarding File Retrieval has been resolved.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]Unsatisfactory. I did not pay $940 for the previous recovery. I paid around $600. Therefore anything close to half of that is too much. They should be doing this for free.

Dear [redacted],
This letter is in response to the complaint submitted to Revdex.com by [redacted].
I have the following information in regard to this complaint.
Info Retrieval successfully performed a data recovery service for [redacted]
back in October of 2014. On October **, 2014 the recovered data were mistakenly
shipped to the customer on a 500GB external transfer drive, instead of a 1TB
hard drive that [redacted] had made the payment for. Acknowledging the mistake,
we issued a refund of $140.45 for the external hard drive purchase. Therefore,
[redacted] eventually received the hard drive in question free of charge.
Generally, the external transfer media sold by Info Retrieval comes with a 3
month (90 days) limited liability warranty. [redacted] contacted us on April *,
2015, reporting the transfer drive failure and requesting the recovery service
performed free of charge. Unfortunately, at the time the customer contacted us
the warranty on that hard drive had expired. Based on that, we cannot provide
the recovery service free of charge.
In a good faith effort to resolve the issue to the mutual satisfaction, we
offered to get the data recovered for a flat fee of $550 (please note that the
customer paid $940 for the previous data recovery service). The recovered data
would be transferred to a complimentary 1TB external hard drive.
We hope that [redacted] finds our offer fair and satisfactory. Thank you for
your time and consideration in regard to this matter. I look forward to
reaching a timely and equitable resolution.
Respectfully,
[redacted]

Review: In the month of October 2014 I seeked out a file retrieval company to help me recover files from a failed external hard drive. The external hard drive contained priceless College and personal documents. I found [redacted] online and decided to do business with them because they were in New York like myself. I agreed to pay them approximately $700 to have my files recovered. I agreed to pay the total amount due in 3 separate payments as they would finish the retrieval process. They recovered the files and as per their website said that they would not ship me my files untill I paid the full balance and I provided them with an external hard driver to replace the old one. I paid and had a new external hard drive shipped to them from [redacted]. They shipped me an external hard drive that belonged to someone else, the external hard drive had another name and case number on it. I called them and told them that they shipped me someone elses's drive and that I needed my 1 Terabyte hard drive shipped to me with my recovered files on it. They shipped me an external hard drive with 500 Gigabytes capacity (Not the one I paid for) I called them back and told them they shipped me the wrong drive even though it had my recovered files on it. They offered me a $130 credit for the lost 1TB, if I kept the wrong 500GB. I agreed. Since the closing of the case (Case #[redacted]) I have turned on the hard drive no more than five times. I tried to load the hard drive recently and it failed it would not turn on. The hard drive has failed. They say that they can only recover the information for the full price of $550 even after the entire mishandling of the case and because its been 5 months even though the external hard drive they provided has failed me with little to minimal use. I offered to pay half of the cost but they refused.Desired Settlement: I want a full recovery of my files for the cost of no more than $250
