Complaint[redacted] called me a lair about dispute because they are wrongfully reporting sons debt on my report and she said not taking off and hung up date we pulled father credit reports on two of them transunion and equifax Financial Collection Agency is reporting my sons debt on my credit report when it should not be so I filed dispute [redacted] called with the biggest attitude every calling me a liar saying I filed dispute but told her I didnt my dad did cause was on his report I already knew on my and told her no going to pay until it gets taking care of first she said well its never comming off the credit report what every you say and hung up tried to call back she refused to answer phone so filed complaint with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau alsoDesired Settlementcompany investigated for falsely reporting accounts to credit bureau and for violating Fair Credit Reporting Act because they are not clearly acting legally within the law more outside law they need to be shut down and stopped Business Response [redacted]) placed an account with us in the name of[redacted] on July 9, 2010 in the amount of $122.93. The social security number that was furnished to them was xxx-xx-1315. When we report an account to the credit bureau we report it with sufficient information to properly identify our debtor. She spoke with someone who identified himself as the person owing the account then told her that he wasn't going to pay because it was reported on his dad's credit report. She verified his social number and when it was confirmed she told the person who called us that we had reported a[redacted] with the social number he gave us. He had previously promised to pay but never paid as agreed. If his information is reported on his dad's credit report we would need his dad to file a dispute. I'm talking to Ms[redacted] as I answer this complaint and she told me that she did not call Mr. [redacted] a liar and that, in fact, the reverse is true. She claims he called her a liar. Ms[redacted] has been employed with me since 2004 and in that time I have never had a complaint on her. Mr. [redacted] filed a dispute with the credit bureau using the information he originally gave [redacted] Fitness. Unless he provided false information to them our report to the credit bureau is correct and no violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act was made.Should Mr. [redacted] wish to discuss this with me please tell him to contact me at [redacted]. Once paid we will remove it from his report. In the meantime however as I stated above if it was picked up by the credit bureaus as his dad, his dad will have to file a dispute with them also and give them his information. Please feel free to contact me if you require any further information.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)do not accept response because its still all lies I was called a liar was told didn't care what your story is not coming off credit report son did not file dispute I have filed dispute with transunion they are saying this company is saying debt is valid and is mine want remove also son called about this account and requested papers to be sent to pay in July but she refused again all untrue no dispute was filed by son this company is lying and violating the fair credit report act by falsely reporting debts to they don't belong to to get money out of them Final Business Response I just looked at the copies that were attached to this complaint. Mr. [redacted] sent 2 different reports. One report is a copy of a credit report which does not show our account on it. The other is a copy of what's called a consumer dispute which was filed with the credit bureau. Neither copy shows a social security number so I can't really be sure whose to delete. Perhaps the best thing would be for him to provide a copy of his report showing that we reported against him and not his son. We'll be happy to correct any error made (although that error would not be ours because we reported with the son's social security number)or for him to ask someone at the credit bureau to call us so we can be sure it comes off the right report.

Received letter from agency alleging outstanding debt. Called agency, would not provide any information regarding debt and hung up on me. 09/17/2013 received letter from Certified Collection Agency which stated that I along with [redacted] (unknown) owed a balance of $1,623.20. The letter stated that the company had spoken to me concerning the debt owed. 09/18/2013 contacted number on letter, XXX-XXX-XXXX to find out what this was about. The person answering the phone said, "hello," and did not identify the business name. I gave this person the reference # on the letter, XXXXXX. I was then transfered to [redacted] I asked [redacted] what this letter was about. She asked for the last four digits of my Social Security number. I told her that I didn't know who she was and was hesitant to give it to her. [redacted] hung up on me. I called the number again and she answered, again, not identifying the business or agency, but, simply "hello." I gave her the last four of my Social Security #. She said that the social security number didn't match. I asked her for any other information and what did I need to do about this. She told me that if she social security number didn't match that I didn't need to worry because it wouldn't be on my credit report. She shared that it was for a rental at [redacted] with the [redacted] I told her that I have never lived at those apartments. I asked how they had gotten my address. She proceeded to tell me that "[redacted]" had given it to her when she agreed to make payments on the debt. She then also stated that I sounded just like the "[redacted]" that she had spoken to. I was shocked and worried. I asked again what did I need to do to resolve this. She said that I didn't need to do anything since the last 4 digits of the SS# didn't match that it would not show up on my credit report. I am extremely concerned and fearful that someone is using my name and address. Now, I am concerned that this company may not be a legitimate business and that I've given my last 4 digits of SS# to someone running a scam.Desired SettlementIf this is a legitimate collection agency, their practices need to be completely revamped. I would appreciate an apology from [redacted] and the agency.

Company is calling home with no reason and leaving no messageCompany is under assumption I owe for billing and other chargesDesired SettlementTo be left alone and allowed to move forward with my life as no services has been rendered that result in me owning fees or billing.. records must indicate a mistakeBusiness Response [redacted] apartments referred an account to Financial Collection Agency on February 20, 2012. Mr [redacted] refused to pay at that time because the apartment complex had his new car towed. He had not notified the apartments that he had a new car and there was no sticker on the car.The source of your complaint is more than likely the result of a call we made to Mr. [redacted]'s home on June 11, 2014. We asked for Mr. [redacted] and were told that he wasn't there the woman who answered the phone inquired as to why we were calling. We politely explained to the that due to federal law we were not allowed to disclose the nature of the call to anyone but Mr. [redacted]. When she asked who we were with we told her (also required by federal law) and attempted to leave a number for Mr. [redacted] to return the call. I would say that when we called we did have a reason for calling and we did attempt to leave a number for him to call. The fact that he knows who was calling and the reason we were calling is a good indication that we did have a reason to call. We have moved his account to our suspense file and have requested [redacted] permission to initiate legal action to enforce collection of the debt. Our attorney is [redacted]

In this case they're calling trying to contact my deceased stepfather who has been dead for 2 years now. Calling my younger sister trying to contact me by a number I no longer have. However, my stepfather does a have cell phone that is still on in his name, which one of his two sisters were to have turned. Which hasn't happened because we're still getting [redacted] bills coming to his last known address... I would greatly appreciate it if CCA/FCA however, they like the describe themselves to stop calling with the annoying and harassing phone calls and hanging the phone up in our faces when they can't get the information they're trying to acquire.Desired SettlementStop the harassing phone calls and trying to acquire personal on a deceased person.... Business Response We don't have a record of [redacted] For us to answer this complaint we need the name of her deceased stepfather.
