To whom it may concern:
margin-bottom: 5pt;">This is in response to your letter due to customer complaint regarding fraudulent timeshare sale. Financial Intelligence Group, Inc (FIG) a Corporation registered in the State of Califonia with address at [redacted] Buena Park, CA 90620. FIG is being used by a fake Financial Intelligence Group, Inc without our consent with phone numbers, emails, and agents we are not aware of to defraud consumers on what seems to be timeshare related activities. The agent referenced in the letter is our agent but he confirmed he has not made any call to the client or anyone regarding timeshare. The fraudulent company has been using many agents we don't know of, this reference to one of our agents is the first. FIG doesn't do any business either with Blue River Advisors either. We strongly encourage you to post this response to your website as a public Service announcement to avoid the public getting defrauded. If someone from a Financial Intelligence Group, Inc. reaches out to you transacting on timeshare, please don't deal with them.
This information was brought to hightened attention of FIG in May, 2016 by 2 law firms separately representing a well known travel company, and a regional realty firm. Both requested FIG to remove references to the respective company's trademarks and businesses in the FIGROUPINC.COM website. This came as a surprise to the real Financial Intelligence Group, Inc. as the Company only focuses in selling real estate in California, does not do anything related to timeshares. The real FIG currently has no active corporate website since a good part of 2015.
The real FIG has reacted accordingly by:
1. March, 2016 - Filing request to godaddy to take down FINANCIALINTELLIGENCEGROUPINC.COM
after one of our agents searched online and saw the site using our Company name. FINANCIALINTELLIGENCEGROUPINC.COM no longer exists likely due to this complaint effort. 2. 4/27-filed complaint to Internet Crime Complaint Center - IC3 (Complaint ID:
1604271843462041, see Appendix A). Also filed report to FBI. 3. May 2, 2016 - The 2 law firms brought to our attention another domain FIGROUPINC.COM. Shows almost same content as prior FINANCIALINTELLIGENCEGROUPINC.COM that was shutdown. 4. 5/2-filed report to Buena Park, CA police department regarding the website fraud (Case #16
18710, see Appendix B). Also filed Consumer Complaint at state of California (see Appendix C). 5. 5/5 - request made to godaddy to take down FIGROUPINC.COM, not successful as they were
asking for FIG trademark which we don't have. 6. 5/31 - requested Godaddy to take down morning of 6/2 but came back in the afternoon (see Appendix D). Turned out the fraudulent FIG moved their site to a different hosting company afternoon of 6/2. We were able to successfully request that it be taken down and no longer exist (see Appendix E). Not sure if the fake Company moved again the hosting to a different domain name of which we are not aware of
currently. 7. We've received almost like 1 page contracts with attachment of timeshare information from
different people. There are times we email them or call them if information is available to warn them not to deal with FIG doing timeshare.
This seems a concerted fraud effort. The real Financial Intelligence Group, Inc is a small company with very limited resources and we are asking for your help to investigate this as our company name is very much in line, most of all we don't want fraud happening to customers. We have recently changed our Company name so that the fraudsters cannot take advantage of our company name anymore. If you look at Sos.ca.gov and do a business search Financial Intelligence Group, Inc no longer exists.
If needed we can send you the letters from [redacted] and [redacted] lawyers providing more details on how the scheme seems to be happening. Please let us know how else we can help. Kindly advise too any other steps we can take to show our innoncence in this matter as it's causing us a lot of stress.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
[redacted], Financial Intelligence Group Inc.
