Posting this tip because I was shocked at the treatment I receivedI posted on Accent's site that I was interested in their services roughly weeks agoI got a response the next day by the very responsible-sounding, organized-seeming "Cheri" who manages Accent's "girls"She and I spoke about the full cleaning of a 900sq ft apartment which included combo bath, a tiled kitchen and bathroom, and hardwood flooring throughoutI had asked after dish services and she said initially "yes, we would be happy to take care of that, too." I informed her that I have cats and their boxes, if possible, would need scooping probablyAll of this information went over smoothly and all seemed wonderful for my impending cleaning visit The day arrivedI arranged my schedule such that I could personally meet who would be cleaning and give her a tourThey were scheduled to arrive at 9am10am arrived and I finally heard a knock on the doorI greeted "Joy" and cordially invited her to come inShe met the kittiesShe had a full look around and I explained what all was needed and re-hashed what I'd ordered with Cheri over the phoneI admit I'd been talking a mile a minute, so after all of that I asked if she had any questionsShe replied in very broken English,"Car....phone?" and ran out to her vehicleI figured she'd forgotten something, so I waited patiently for her returnShe came back about 10mins latern explaining haltingly "No cleanCall Cheri" - or at least that's all I could make outShe gathered her supplies and left without a word I immediately called Cheri and asked after what had happened - I thought the poor girl had a personal emergency or somethingCheri informed me that she'd look into it at once I waited Finally I received a call back from Cheri explaining that this "Joy" had allegedly "nearly fainted" for the smell of my cat's boxes and could tell there were animals even before enteringShe also claimed there was so much mold and filth that she didn't feel "safe" in my abodeFurthermore, she had apparently told a coworker "not enough money" for cleaning my apartmentI was flooredI could hardly believe itI had never heard such an outlandish claim in my lifeI was so offended I weptI've never experienced anything remotely like this and would highly recommend that you avoid Accent Maids in Indy I am a busy, young wife who just needed a bit of help with my home on my one day off a weekInstead, I got the most rude interaction and dismissal of my little home that I've ever known

I have tried calling accent maids almost every day since this happened and they say no one can help me but Cheryl, yet she is always out of the office or "sick." I fully described the state of the apartment to her over the phone before they came and even used the word "disgusting" and she quite literally said "it would be no problem.". If it was truly "too big of a job" then why did they even try to start cleaning it in the first place? Why didn't they call me the second they came into the apartment, instead of just taking my money and leaving? I have been stuck cleaning the apartment myself now and I made a much bigger difference in it after a few hours of work myself. I shouldn't have to sweep and mop a floor that was supposedly already cleaned by professionals. I would expect more from a professional cleaning business. I am appalled that they would do this to a customer and make no attempts at answering their calls or returning their messages. This business seems like a scam that takes advantage of their customers, they do not seem remotely professional.

The day arrived. I arranged my schedule such that I could personally meet who would be cleaning and give her a tour. They were scheduled to arrive at 9am. 10am arrived and I finally heard a knock on the door. I greeted "Joy" and cordially invited her to come in. She met the kitties. She had a full look around and I explained what all was needed and re-hashed what I'd ordered with Cheri over the phone. I admit I'd been talking a mile a minute, so after all of that I asked if she had any questions. She replied in very broken English,"Car....phone?" and ran out to her vehicle. I figured she'd forgotten something, so I waited patiently for her return. She came back about 10mins latern explaining haltingly "No clean. Call Cheri" - or at least that's all I could make out. She gathered her supplies and left without a word.
I immediately called Cheri and asked after what had happened - I thought the poor girl had a personal emergency or something. Cheri informed me that she'd look into it at once.
I waited.
Finally I received a call back from Cheri explaining that this "Joy" had allegedly "nearly fainted" for the smell of my cat's boxes and could tell there were animals even before entering. She also claimed there was so much mold and filth that she didn't feel "safe" in my abode. Furthermore, she had apparently told a coworker "not enough money" for cleaning my apartment. I was floored. I could hardly believe it. I had never heard such an outlandish claim in my life. I was so offended I wept. I've never experienced anything remotely like this and would highly recommend that you avoid Accent Maids in Indy.
