Finish Line Transmissions Reviews (6)

I lost reverse in my chevy silverado truck and took it to Finish Line Transmissions on Oct for a diagnosis and estimate to get it fixed The owner was very friendly and took the time to talk to me about the typical issues and failure's he repairs on that particular transThere was no initial charge for the diagnosis, scan and estimate I approved the estimate of repairs after checking a couple other places and Finish Line, was very competitive The price was very good, and it came with a year longer warranty, of years 24,mion parts and labor than other rebuild prices at other shops, that offered, only a year warrantyI scheduled the work to be done I also needed u joints and a new transfer case seal, so I had that completed while it was at the shop The entire job only took days, my transmission was rebuilt, and shifts awesome, and I also have new U joints on the rear drive shaft, and don't have to worry about the seal now, on the transfer case, which had been leaking for a while Since the owner had to remove the transfer case anyway, he changed the old fluid with new, at no additional charge It is very nice to have a local business owner that is willing to go out of their way for a customer and offer good workmanship, good time frame for completion, and is very upfront with the estimate I would highly recommend Finish Line Transmissions to others looking to get a vehicle or transmission fixed Thanks For a great job [redacted]

I purchased a Toyota Highlander and noticed after about a month I had no overdrive gear on the highway Thinking it probably needed a transmission, I drove it that way for about months before I brought it in to be looked at and get a quote of repairs I live south an hour a way, and decided to take it to Finish Line Transmissions in Grand Haven, I drive by this shop on my way to work, and also my dad works in the areaSeveral of his co-workers agreed this was a very good local business for me to take my car to I scheduled an appt the owner checked it out and had to drive it a long distance warm to get it to act up Much to my suprise, when he called with the quote, he said it was most likely not a transmission issue, but an engine control issue, as I had knock sensor codes show up on a computer scan, and he tested everything accordingly He recommended we replace those, because the way the engine runs and communicates with the computer can effect the way the trans shiftsI left it to be repaired The wire connector harness, was also changed during the repair, and the entire system reflashed with software upgrades The top 1/of the engine had to be removed to get to the knock sensors but the whole repair cost about 70% less than a new transmission would have cost, so I was thrilled I have overdrive now, and I can't believe my luck in finding a business that is knowledgeable and experienced enough (and honest) to accurately diagnose my vehicle, and not assume it needed a costly transmission A special thanks to the owner of Finish Line, and also the customer service manager who is very nice to work with I would recommend you to my family, and friends and everyone I know [redacted]

I lost reverse in my 2004 chevy silverado truck and took it to Finish Line Transmissions on Oct. 6 for a diagnosis and estimate to get it fixed. The owner was very friendly and took the time to talk to me about the typical issues and failure's he repairs on that particular trans. There was no initial charge for the diagnosis, scan and estimate. I approved the estimate of repairs after checking a couple other places and Finish Line, was very competitive. The price was very good, and it came with a year longer warranty, of 2 years 24,000 mi. on parts and labor than other rebuild prices at other shops, that offered, only a 1 year warranty. I scheduled the work to be done. I also needed u joints and a new transfer case seal, so I had that completed while it was at the shop. The entire job only took 2 days, my transmission was rebuilt, and shifts awesome, and I also have new U joints on the rear drive shaft, and don't have to worry about the seal now, on the transfer case, which had been leaking for a while. Since the owner had to remove the transfer case anyway, he changed the old fluid with new, at no additional charge. It is very nice to have a local business owner that is willing to go out of their way for a customer and offer good workmanship, good time frame for completion, and is very upfront with the estimate. I would highly recommend Finish Line Transmissions to others looking to get a vehicle or transmission fixed. Thanks For a great job.

Much to my suprise, when he called with the quote, he said it was most likely not a transmission issue, but an engine control issue, as I had knock sensor codes show up on a computer scan, and he tested everything accordingly. He recommended we replace those, because the way the engine runs and communicates with the computer can effect the way the trans shifts. I left it to be repaired. SHOP OWNER WENT ABOVE & BEYOND TO HELP ME WHEN I BROKE DOWN

I live in [redacted] and was on my way to work northbound when my Ford F-250 Broke down on the highway. It lost all gears except reverse and felt like it went into neutral.
I called some shops for assistance on getting my truck towed off the highway, and found to the owner, [redacted] at Finish Line Transmissions ready to help. He helped find a tow truck right away, that could come out and get it removed, and towed in for an estimate and inspection. Later, the same day, he called me with an estimate to repair, I scheduled the transmission overhaul which was backed up by a 2 year parts and labor warranty, which showed me that he stands behind his work. I was very satisfied the final price was within $50 of the estimate, and it only took 3 days to complete the work. good price, good work, friendly service, I would return and refer others to this business for transmission work, I found out the owner does general auto repair as well, and will bring in my truck for other work too.
thanks for a great job,
[redacted], MI.
