I am rejecting this response because:  [redacted] is claiming we tried to cash in on our insurance. We handed every check over from our insurance to [redacted] .The checks came with our names and [redacted]'s name on them, we signed every check and handed them to [redacted], he then had all control of the money received from the insurance, we did not get or take a dime of the money he had all control. We still to this day have no clue how much was actually spent to do our home or what was left, he had all control and did not have to show proof to the insurance what he spent or had left over. I have proof from the insurance [redacted] had all control of the money. [redacted] did walk us through the house when he claimed he was finished but it was the insurance who said these things were to be completed and [redacted] did not complete everything we told him to complete, this will be between him and the insurance not you the clients, he signed a contract with your insurance not you. Yes he installed a higher quality floor in the kitchen and for cabinets  than what what we had before , because we eliminated 9 windows than what we had before, 2 walls , 2 doors, he did not have to rip out the living room or front porch flooring and etc. This is how he was able to put more money into the kitchen and floors, because we saved in these areas. [redacted] only took us to purchase things one time after that we was told to go ourselves and when we did we ALWAYS ask what is the budget because we again had no clue how much was in the budget, he controlled it all. [redacted] was asked to remove all of the pictures he took of our home from his [redacted] page after he walked off of the job. I have [redacted]'s message he sent me stating, as soon as I hear from your insurance as to why they took money from my final payment I will return to finish the job. We decided since he walked off of the job and did not want to finish no matter what the outcome was from our insurance we did not want him to return to finish anything. Our insurance had to have a professional plumber to come in and fix our plumbing because it turned out  while during construction his crew had wood from the walls down in the pipes, [redacted] made the statement the plumbing was like that when he got here, that is not so there was no running water in the house or electric when [redacted] arrived due to the fire everything was turned off, we have never had plumbing issues and  we have proof from the plumber that's what caused the issues. As far as buying extra carpet so there was no seams, when we asked for any extra carpet he said I am putting that in my house I paid extra for it. We asked for proof he paid for it and not from our insurance he laughed and said it was not possible to give all the proof because this job was a big task .[redacted] does have statements from the insurance saying he completed everything because we were givin the option to finish everything ourselves and we agreed because the insurance said they just wanted rid of him and this was the easiest way to close everything out. [redacted] made the remark he did things to make us happy, this was our home not his , he did try to suggest things that was not our taste and the money was there to have these things we asked him every time is the budget ok for this or that. [redacted] was the one in charge of all money he could have went with us to pick things out and he did not want to so we were left to do it not knowing what the budget was ,so again we did ask if it was in the budget and if not we said we would pay the extra if it wasn't. If [redacted] claims he went above what our insurance was paying to compete our home we would like to see proof of all the receipts on how much he actually spent to complete everything and how much was actually left over that he lined his bank account with. Again all checks were signed and handed to [redacted], there was no way of us cashing any of the checks unless he signed them also , he had all control. It is sad that he wants to make it look like we were trying to cash in on our insurance when he cashed all checks, not good for business on his part. To end this we would like to have copies of all the receipts he claims he has showing it was all put into our home so we can total everything  with the money our insurance gave him.
Regards,
[redacted]

As far as Mr. [redacted] claiming the plumbing issues was there the first week he arrived is false, all plumbing was shut off, and yes we did agree it could have been something due to the house fire until we had proof from the professional plumbers that it was when the walls were tore out and the toilet had been removed from [redacted]. We have pictures of the wood that was in the plumbing, there is no way possible this piece of wood could fit down a toilet "common sense". As far as him claiming he cleaned the drain out for free is a lie, Mr. [redacted] was paid well from our insurance to do all plumbing work in the amount of $ 2,295.20 this was in the contract he signed with them, We have a copy of the contract. We called the plumber in the day [redacted] told us if he had to snake the drain again he had to charge us $150.00 an hour to do so, when we told him he wasn't charging us anything he suggested to call someone else more experienced so we did. We called our insurance company first and told them [redacted] wanted  to charge us and they said , he was not suppose to charge us for anything he has been paid well enough to complete the job he agreed to take on. [redacted] never wanted  to discuss any issues with the insurance only us. had he had more experience working with insurance claims he would have known this. It's sad to hear him make claims that we are full of hatred and discontent, those are strong words coming from someone to claims to be a professional and has been in business for a decade. We do not hate [redacted] or anyone else, we appreciate everything that has been done to our home, everyone he hired in to do the big task he takes credit for worked a lot and done a great job, we couldn't be more thankful during this horrible experience having lost everything in our home. I praised [redacted] and his crew everyday for the work they done, it wasn't until he walked off the job over money takin from his final pay which he accused us taking it from him, again he always came to us with issues when he was to discuss it with the insurance not us. [redacted] says he will grow from this experience, I HOPE he does because if we had know this was his first BIG TASK working with an insurance claim as we are finding out more everyday from others we would have hired someone more professional. This matter would not have became an issue if he hadn't walked off the job and took every single piece of every materials he had left over to use for himself for his next job or in his home that was paid to him from our insurance company. We state this   fact because whenever we ask him to leave the extra carpet, paint, siding, and much more he made sure he took every thing that day and it took our insurance company to tell him to bring it back. As far as him wanting to prove himself with receipts showing every dime he received from insurance was put into the home he will not do because he doesn't want to show proof. We on the other hand have every receipt for everything purchased, he didn't have to show proof to insurance with any receipts though when we asked the first thing he said was he needed them, why he needs them id beyond us because he can't claim them for anything on his business it was our insurance who paid out to rebuild our home not his money. [redacted] again had to be told from insurance he had to give us all receipts we asked for because he wasn't willing every time  we asked him. So as [redacted] says we will learn from this experience, we will not end this as he did in a mean and hateful way, we will end all this with being the honest one and praying he has learned a lesson with working with a insurance claim  since  this was his first.Lesson learned for him, you have to follow a contract when you sign  it and not take your issues to the clients but to whom you signed the contract with. Lesson for us never hand  over any money to a contractor if you have the option to control it, just goes to prove you can't trust anyone . Again I will keep all the pictures and documents for proof whenever he wants to claim we lied and are just being hateful. We appreciate everything that was done for us up until he decided  to be a shady person.

I, [redacted], owner of Fink's Constructjon and Design was hired to restore the [redacted] home
after a fire. I restored the home to a much higher standard than it was before the fire. For example, I
received a letter on [redacted] of Mrs. [redacted] complaining about outlets she thought I had...

left over.
But, in fact, I actually installed about 30 more receptacles than what was in the original home. I a1so
installed a higher quality flooring material for the kitchen than was allowed by the insurance. The
insurance only paid me to replace what was there, which was vinyl sheet goods, however, I replaced
with laminate which cost twice as much just to make the client happy. I made their bathroom and
kitchen twice as big as their original ones. I spent over $6000 on countertops and cabinets which the
insurance only paid me for what was there, that was only for about $3000.1 also installed a higher
quality siding than the insurance paid for, the siding I installed was twice as much as the original, this
came out of my final payment also, but I was ok with that. The insurance only paid for the insulation
that was in the attic which was cellulose, once again I went above and beyond and installed attic cat
which cost twice as much. I wanted the home owners to be happy and have a beautiful home. I have
written documentation from the insurance company, [redacted], stating that
I completed the repairs at the [redacted] Residence. As far as the extra supplies, the insurance company
does not pay for extra materials, they just pay to restore the home to its original state, and again I went
above its original standard. I ordered extra carpet. so there would not be a visible seam in the floor. Extra
materials were coming out of my final payment. At the time of the insurance walk through I asked
several times if everything was complete or if I missed anything. I was told by Mrs. [redacted] "No, you
have completed everything". If I knew there were things not completed I would have definitely finished
them. I have never had an uncompleted job. The [redacted]'s all a long had said they would do the
basement, not I. I did not realize they were just trying to cash in on their insurance. On the day Mrs.
[redacted] confronted me outside her home, I was only bringing my work trailer, back to the town which I
live in, since the big tasks were done the trailer was no longer needed there. There was some final
payment in question (now taken care of with insurance company), and I just wanted to be sure all was
well before I finished installing the gutters. After Mrs. [redacted]'s confrontation with me, I was told by the
insurance company that the [redacted]'s no longer wanted me to put the gutters up or work on their
home. I did give them the receipts they asked for, the insurance company is aware of this too. The
[redacted]'s harassed me on [redacted] for quite some time after the falling out. Requesting all photos to be
removed because they were to "private" and "personal", yet I have written proof of where she
approved me to post them. Before the fall out the [redacted]'s praised my work time and time again in
person and publicly on [redacted]. I also have proof of that. I am disappointed in how things have ended,
but I have learned a valuable lesson from this client.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
