The van was making strange noises and has been showing trouble accelerating at times over the past several months We had *** *** look at the vehicle to diagnose the problem, they said the harmonic balancer (tensioner) was extremely loose, and the mechanic was able to take the part off by hand because it was so loose Because the harmonic balancer wasn't re-installed properly by Honda East in 2016, over time that balancer caused damage to the harmonic balancer, and also mangled and damaged the crankshaft
Honda East was the last and ONLY service company that has ever performed engine work! Due to TSB 013-081, there was a class action lawsuit related to the piston rings misfiring, and Honda East replaced the piston rings and performed other maintenance (timing belt, etc) while they were working on the engine Since this work was being done, Honda East was the last company to put the Harmonic Balancer back on the crankshaft after the work was complete

My wife and I purchased a NEW Honda Civic from this dealership on Saturday, January After purchase we took it to have paint protection, fabric protection, and wheel protection applied at another local company At this point it was found that the driver side of the car had been damaged and repairedThe rear quarter panel, sail panel, driver door, fuel door, and rocker panel had all been repainted Not only is this a dishonest and shady business practice, it is also a violation of law in the state of Ohio
