Fire House Auto Repair Station Reviews (1)

On 7.27.13 I went to Fire House for a loud clicking noise coming from my car's right front side. They charged me $461.07 but repairs were never done.On July 27, 2013, I took my car to Fire House for an loud clicking noise from the right front passenger side. After inspecting the car. they gave me a list of repairs that needed to be done. They said it was an emergency and that the car wasn't safe to drive back home to [redacted] The estimate was around $300. An hour later they said additional work needed to be done and added another $150. As I was driving back home to [redacted] with my children in the car, I agreed to the repairs. The estimate # is XXXXXX. I was given an invoice for $461.07 which I paid in full. The invoice number is Unfortunately in January 2014, barely 6 months later, the same problem started again. I took it to my local Toyota Dealer and they told me the problem had never been fixed in July and I would need to spend additional money to fix it. I then took it to [redacted] Auto for a second opinion and they agreed that the problem still existed because it had never been properly repaired. This was only 6 MONTHS after it was allegedly repaired in July.I made several calls to Fire House but they claimed to have fixed it and refused to refund my money. I then hired an attorney who sent a letter on January 17, 2014 and he followed up with phone calls and a second letter on March 18, 2014. My attorney also included copies of the repair estimates from the Toyota dealer and [redacted] Auto Repair. To date, Fire House has refused to respond to either me or my attorney. They have the written estimates from the Toyota dealer as well as the [redacted] Auto Repair saying the same repair needed to be done - 6 months later. I am exceedingly frustrated and upset with this. Other than their dishonesty in not performing the repairs, Fire House Auto Repair put my children and me at considerable risk. They have also cost me $461.07 for the repairs that were never performed and also attorney's fees for $450. I want a full refund of $911.07.Desired SettlementI want a refund of $461.07 for the repairs that were not performed and $450 for attorney's fees I had to pay to follow up as Fire House Auto Repair refused to respond. The total refund I am requesting is $911.07. I am also requesting a letter of apology from Fire House Auto for all the trouble they have caused me, all the expense I have borne and all the risk they put my children and me in.Business Response In response to the complaint above, the customer provided us with a copy of two work orders from out of state where it specifically stated that the right front wheel bearing was needing replacement. I personally replaced the front left which was the one making the noise. If the repair was not made, the noise would have remained and the customer would have immediately returned. The customer lives out of state and had a letter addressed from her attorney sent to the office. I contacted the attorney and explained the situation to include which side the work was completed on and that the side that she was requesting work on was not repaired by us and is likely the original manufacturer's parts. I asked that he send me the parts for inspection once the repairs were made and upon inspection I could address the situation more clearly.I then received a letter from the customer stating that she would settle for half the original repair cost; however, I have yet to receive the parts for inspection.I recontacted the attorney that she listed from the first letter and he stated that since he was out of state he referred her to a nc attorney but was unsure if she ever contacted him. He further stated that he was not her attorney anymore. The customer has made several requests for money...461.07 then 231.00 and now 911.07. No documentation has been provided to me that additional repairs were ever made to her car. There has been no documentation of any parts removed nor any parts returned to me for my inspection.I personally made the repair to the left side wheel bearing and the noise ceased and the customer left happy.Consumer Response Fire House Auto Repair's response is neither truthful not accurate. They indicate they fixed the driver's side but the problem was on the passenger side. If they erred in fixing the wrong side that is something they need to remedy. They have indicated that I should have mailed them back the damaged parts but my car was repaired in [redacted] and the damaged parts were disposed off by the Toyota dealer. How am I supposed to mail back damaged auto parts to North Carolina? This is neither practical nor feasible and borders on being ludicrous. They already have copies of the repair estimates in their possession.Instead of resolving the situation and admitting to their error, they are dragging this out. I will make every effort to collect what they owe me. Their business practices are fraudulent and they should not be allowed to get away with cheating customers.Business Response I, [redacted], owner of Fire House Auto, repaired the driver side bearing and tie rod then aligned the 1999 Toyota Sienna. To insinuate that the passenger side was not done is true. Six months after our initial repair the noise from the passenger side probably started. She neglected to state that the dealership repair estimate for her 1999 Toyota Sienna needed over $4500.00 dollars worth of repairs.I can understand being upset after being told how much she needed to invest in her vehicle.
