I could not figure out how to do it on the Revdex.com website so here you go. I guess its been too long. On August 30 we took over a property from [redacted], we went and picked up the file on that day. [redacted] informed me that they had already notified...
the tenants of the change in management. When they gave me the file there was only a move out notice for Unit B, we were not given any move out notice on Unit A. Later that month the tenant called and scheduled his checkout inspection for the 26th of Sept. On the 26h we went to the inspection with the file for Unit B because we assumed that was the Unit moving out since we were not given move out information on Unit A. When the inspector got there she had the file for unit B not unit A. We had no inspection for Unit A because [redacted] Property Management had not given us that one. We returned to the office and called [redacted] thinking Unit A had moved out without giving a 30 day notice. They faxed us the move in inspection but still did not tell us they had already given a 30 day notice, or sent us a copy of the 30 day notice. We rescheduled the inspection for the 30th. On the 30th [redacted] was sick and [redacted] was at the Doctor with a sick child so we had to reschedule the inspections that day. I could not locate a phone number to call the tenant and let him know we needed to reschedule before I had to leave for my child's doctors appointment. The tenant called while I was at the doctor and was told the situation. Upon returning to the office the tenant called and demanded that we do a walk thru with them because that is what their lease states. At that time I did tell them that their lease also states they must give a 30 day notice and we never received that from [redacted], and according to their lease they would have to pay October rent. Shortly thereafter we received a call from [redacted] explaining that they dropped the ball and did not forward us the move out notice. I told [redacted] the owner was not notified about the move out so they would probably be looking for a rent payment for October. [redacted] told me they would look into it and get back with me. I still have not heard from them. In the meantime the tenant has accused us of doing crappy business, dropping the ball, being rude and trying to steal their money. We took this property over just weeks before the tenant moved out and did not receive everything form [redacted] and we are taking the hostility from the tenant over it all. I am attaching a copy of the form we signed at [redacted] when we picked up the documents. We had to sign for each document received. To this date we have still not received a 30 day move out notice from [redacted] on this tenant. All they have sent us was his check in inspection.
