The Customer stated to FireScapes that the issue did not occur last season and that he only had an issue with it this season. FireScapes then pointed out that if there was a problem with the installation the smoke would have been an issue last season.  FireScapes also advised...

the customer that the chimney and or pipes must be properly swept at the end of each season to properly maintain the equipment.  If the equipment is not properly swept it will cause the smoke to come back into the home since it can not pass freely through the pipe and out.  He was advised that our schedule was completely booked for a month and the lady answering the phone does not have the authority to change the schedule.

This is very simple when you purchase something it must be maintained properly.  The smoke issue would only be caused due to lack of proper maintenance.

Review: I am having problem with a wood burning stove that I have been trying to have resolved since 1/**/14. I have had numerous telephone calls and emails ignored by this company. The purchase price including installation was over $7000.00. There have also been problems that they have taken are of due to poor workmanship on installation. The current problem is a damper lever on the stove that keeps getting stuck. After being ignored for over a month an a half I finally contacted the manufacturer. They said they had a kit available to fix the problem. They supplied me with the kit number and said that I should forward it to the dealer which I did. The dealers employee ([redacted]) called me on 2/**/14 and said she "convinced" the manufacturer to send out the repair kit, but I would have to pay shipping. She then said she would have to check with her [redacted] ([redacted]) to see if she could get me a discount on the repair. When I tried to find out why I was going to be charged for a repair and shipping that was under warranty she accused me of yelling at her and hung up on me. I then called the manufacturer back, he stated that all labor under war entry is free for the first year. He said he would call Firescapes but I did not hear back from them. I have had nothing but problems with this company since the installation. The wood burning stove is manufactured by Hearthstone, the model is equinox. Please give me some help with a store that probably should not be in business.Desired Settlement: Perform the work as per manufactures warranty.

Review: I purchased a wood stove from this place about a year ago. About a month ago, I started the stove for the first time this season and it was leaking smoke from the pipe and also being unreasonably smoky every time I opened the door to put more wood in. I called the place several times, both myself and my wife. First off, It is almost impossible to get these people on the phone even during normal business hours. When I finally got to talk to one of the employees and reported the problem, requesting someone to come over the stove and see what can be done to fix it, at first she started telling me that if the installation or product was defective that problem would have happened last year. I replied by saying that that was incorrect. A faulty or inferior installation can within months start presenting problems, and even if my chimney needed to be cleaned (as she first suggested) that would NOT justify the smoke-leaking from my chimney pipe. She did agree with that but proceeded to tell me they are fully booked for 3-4 weeks and that, pretty much, there isn't much they could do about it. I said to her, even if I get a printer, that comes with at least a 2-year full warranty. I paid over $5700 for this piece of equipment and all I get is NOTHING, not even before the first year is over. She agreed but said there was nothing she could do, since she only answers phones and she would relay my complaints to the managers. Needless to say, nothing has happened since. I am furious, but most of all, I need to know other people would not have to deal with the same lack of professionalism and service delivery.Desired Settlement: I need my stove to be repaired ASAP, of course. But at this point, I can't hope for a miracle to happen. I have to take care of the problem myself and for that, I need to make sure these people will not repeat this kind of treatment to any other customer.
