Complaint: I am rejecting this response because: This company mislead me when I questioned the excessive delivery fee and installation, again, they lead me to believe that it was a major production when I mentioned maybe we should pick the firepit up and have it installed ourselvesAs for signing, this would be procedure & confirmation of delivery as apposed to being mislead, again the installation took about ten minutesI would like to confirm that this company absolutely ripped me off, there reason stated makes no sense, I would like to send pictures of this firepit this way you will see why I have lodged this complaint Regards, S [redacted] ***

Regarding to the letter sent on April 7, We are very sorry to hear that this customer is not satisfied with the purchase of there firepitBut the fee for the labor of firepits are standard amongst all deliveriesThe delivery fee $is our fee for installation and delivery of the firepitWe agreed on the price for the installation on the invoice and the customer signed for itOur main store/ warehouse is in woodland hills We go out to city of industry to pick up the firepit un crate it at the store and send out two people for the delivery of the firepitThe firepit is very heavy and made of concrete and it is very fragileWe cannot give any refund on the labor as that is our set price for two workers doing all this work and unpacking the firepit and having the customer only light it and enjoy the firepitOur employees hooked it up to the gas line and tested the firepit and show the customer how to turn it onWe appreciate your time but there is no refund we can give on the labor and we are dependly sorry the customer feels that they have been ripped off but the work we do is professional and we test for any leaks or problems when we leave Thanks J [redacted] Manager Conejo Valley Fireside BBQ

Review: Hello Revdex.com, on 3/6/2015 my husband and I purchased an outdoor firepit from Conejo Valley Fireside for $1744.98, no problem with the price of the firepit, however when we questioned the excessive charge of $495.00 for delivery & installation we were told that it was an involved & complicated process and this what everyone charges, so like fools my husband and I bought into it thinking WOW this is a big deal, there store is about four miles from our house.Two men delivered the Firepit it was packaged in two small boxes and wheeled down some steps on a dolly. The installation time was less than ten minutes, this confirmed that we had been duped!!When I questioned and complained about being mislead the one man named A[redacted] made a comment in another language to his helper and they both laughed at me.I called the store to talk to the manager and he had every reason under the sun to justify the excessive cost! He told me that the manufacturer craned the firepit to them in a wood casing and that was a big part of the expense, I contacted the manufacturer he confirmed that this information was invalid and felt really bad for us.After seeing the size of the boxes, my husband and I could have easily put them in my SUV and hooked this pit up ourselves, however they insisted it was complicated!!!Since this incident, I have checked the reviews on this company, not so good!!We have emailed them and they refuse to acknowledge us.Just to NOTE!! Home Depot delivered a washer & dryer to us the day before from Camarillo at no charge, it took them over an hour to unpack and install both pieces. Thank you for your consideration in helping us.Desired Settlement: We are not asking for a full refund, however this company should refund us partial payment.I would only hope that they are honest and professional in this matter.Thanks again.
