Firestone Highway 2 Tire & Auto Care

Review: About 2 weeks ago, my husband took my car for a simple oil change & inspection sticker to Firestone Tire & Auto Care. We have had issues once before with this business but my husband figured he would give them another try since they could do both an oil change & an inspection sticker. He called me not long after to tell me he was able to get the oil change but was not able to recieve an inspection sticker because one of the attendents claimed my tires were too worn for an inspection sticker. Which was news to us both, considering we did not know they even check your tires during an inspection. Needless to say, I made an appointment with Tire Kingdom on Asbury St. in Mandeville for tires to be put on my car. After arriving for my appointment, letting the attendent know what type of tires I had, he went out & looked at my car & returned to tell me my tires were completely fine. He said he has customers come in all the time claiming they need new tires after visiting Firestone on Hwy 21 in Covington. He said my tires could go at least another 6-10,000 miles before new tires are required. My husband & I will NOT return to FIrestone due to them claiming maintence & services are needed, when they are truly not. That is the same issue my husband had months back with them when they claimed a "flush" was needed on his truck instead of just a simple oil change. They try to pull the wool over your eyes & work customers to spend frivilous amounts of money on maintence issues.Desired Settlement: I would like firstone Tires to be aware of this compliment made. I am tempted to call their myself & speak to a manager.

I receieved your letter about the complaint that was ?lled out the customers‘ behalf. The customer came in for a oil change and brake tag "motor vehicle inspection" and according to the laws that are given to us by the state of Louisiana. tires can not be worn down to 2/32s of tread. Being that low is considered legally wom out. One thing we do not do here at this shop is try to press people into buying things or pulling wool over there head. We simply tell them there needs and if they want it we will do the service if not we simply back the vehicle out and proceed. We are a family owned business not a corporation so we do not have a quota to meet everyday

we are here for the customer. All we do here is imply the law on brake tags we do not make money off of them.
