First Call Relocations Reviews (%countItem)

Please note that in August of 2018 I hired (what was then called) First Call Relocations to both pack and move me from Houston, Texas to Highlands, North Carolina. My agent was named "Jimmy" R and he worked with Kelli Delani. These individuals refused to deliver my items until I paid them more, extorting money. The movers were also several days late to the job, charged me more than quoted, and damaged every single piece of furniture I own while then delivering my items late. I have spent the last year trying to get in touch with FCR only never to hear back. I want to file as many complaints as I can against this company and would greatly appreciate your help contacting them to remedy the situation.
This company will not respond to any of my phone calls or emails. They are a very disreputable service and all I want is some of my money back to fix my personal belongings. Please, please help me. I do not want any other Florida residents to have to suffer from this fraudulent company.

They have been listed on this website under the following names:

First Call Relocations, INC to LLC to PINC
Then Safeway Moving, LLC
Then Transworld Van Lines, LLC

Refund Please note that in August of 2018 I hired (what was then called) First Call Relocations to both pack and move me from Houston, Texas to Highlands, North Carolina. I have called every number I can find, including Ms. Delani's and written emails to info@firstcallrelocations. No one has returned any of my calls or emails which makes your company extremely disreputable. All I want is some of my money back to fix my personal belongings. Again, every single item your company moved was destroyed. How would you feel if that happened to you after paying $20,000 of your hard-earned cash'! I

We were given a bid of $5744.25 to move our household goods. As the company, First Call Relocations, did not have an estimator in our area, I walked through the entire house on the phone with ***, their "professional estimator", describing the household goods including measurements in order to secure an accurate bid. The "professional estimator" from First Call Relocations even understood that we were not moving the large appliances, i.e., refrigerator, washer, dryer and range. We agreed on the $5744.25 and they asked for a deposit of $2010.48 to hold the truck. When the truck arrived and saw that we were senior citizens, we were told the price would now be $12,000!!.More than double the bid. We spoke to *** at First Call Relocations and were told that the price is $12,000 and one half must be paid immediately in cash or they would send the truck on down the road and we would lose our deposit. As we had to be out of the house that day, we had no choice but to pay. Attempt to recover our money have been stonewalled by the company.

Desired Outcome

Refund Due to the dishonesty and descriminatory nature of this action we are requesting our entire $12,000 to be refunded to us.

I have been waiting for couple months now for my refund but still have no respond from First Call Relocations.
On October 10th of 2018 I called First Call Relocations for a move quotation. I was given a quote and went ahead to pay the deposit together with a fast delivery made it a total of Nine Hundred Thirty One Dollars and 70 cents ($931.70). Money was cashed the very same day, I was also told if anything comes up I will be fully refunded with the deposit as long as I give them a heads up notice and also if the job has not begun yet. Seven days later we changed our relocation and plan to move altogether, I called them and informed them about the changes and I also email them, following exactly how to go about with cancellation in their contract which I did on the 17th of October. They assured me that I will get my full refund back but Checks only cut on the 1st and the 15th. I told them I understood and they never got back to me. I called them in the beginning of the month of November and they told me, it is on the file but it has to be approved by the accounting department. I kept calling back to speak to Accounting but they kept telling me that the guy I need to speak with named *** is on vacation. Now it has been over a month and I was still waiting for my $931.70. I called back after the 18th of that month and *** told me that the check request was already in file and it will be cut out on the 1st which will fall on a Saturday but will be mailed out on Business Days. I kept calling them back to this very day (12/06/18) and still haven't received a refund and *** a lady I have been talking to about this request and issue has just kept telling me to keep calling back. The person I first spoke with about the moving and he gave me the quotation was *** the Senior Moving Coordinator. The reference number/ job number is XXXXXXX. The payment was made through E-Check.

Desired Outcome

I would just want to have my refund back.

Moving Company is holding Household Goods hostage, will not tell us address of warehouse where located.
First Call Relocations (USDOT XXXXXXX) gave us a Binding Moving Estimate of $5770.70 on 8/8/2018 to pick up our household goods in Peoria, IL on 9/25/2018 or 9/26/2018 with First Available Delivery Date of 10/1/2018 and delivery estimate of up to 14 calendar days to our new home in Sarasota, FL. We put down a deposit of $2019.75.

Company represented that they would send their own crew and truck to pick up our household goods. However, the truck that picked up on 9/26/218 was from M.A.D. (Moving Accounting Department, LLC, USDOT XXXXXXX) also out of Ft Lauderdale, FL. Picture of truck available.

They tried to overestimate our volume but we convinced them otherwise. We made a second payment of $1875.48. Signed Bill of Lading contract is available for authorities listing dates, payments, order number and USDOT number, etc.

As of today, 11/13/2018, we have not received our goods, the company is rarely responsive (hard to get on phone, does not respond to voicemails, etc) and frequently changes their story (truck is coming from California, truck broke down, truck repairs taking longer than expected, new crew coming in from Minnesota, and most recently "we have no idea when your goods will be delivered"). Company will not tell us the address of the warehouse where our goods are located.

Desired Outcome

Deliver our full load of household goods safely to our home.

This company added new prices in after the pickup contract was signed. They charged double the original estimate and refuse to give my stuff back.
This is the same company of First Call Relocations that is listed as based out of Indiana and has multiple complaints and an F Revdex.com rating. They wrote down the initial estimate on the pickup contract and told my sister (who was there at pickup in my place) that she had to sign that contract before they could load the truck with my goods. After she signed and they loaded my personal goods they wrote in a new price that was double the original estimate. They refused to provide a breakdown of the new costs, or give me a refund and my stuff back. They wouldn't even tell me where my stuff is being stored or let me go pick it up at the original destination. They told me if I wanted to cancel their service and pick up my items at the original location I'd have to wait until they had movers available, which apparently is rarely. And then those movers would move my stuff to a different storage location where I could meet them to pick up my stuff and then I would have to pay them an additional fee. They dodged my calls and were openly rude to me when they even got around to answering. When I told them I had reported them to the Federal Bureau on account of they were moving a high monetary amount of goods across state lines with very unsavory, and downright illegal business practices, the customer service rep actually laughed at me and told me the FBI wouldn't do anything because it's a civil matter. I still haven't gotten my things back. The mover showed up, but refused to unpack or even let me look at any of my stuff until I paid him the remaining amount of the money that was written on an unbinding contract. I even got the local police involved. Unfortunately, it was a civil matter, which the moving company knew, and the cops were unable to force the mover to give me my stuff. The mover claimed that he legally couldn't give me anything until after I paid out the unlawful and unbinding contract. Although after the cops left he did call me back and asked me, "how much would you be willing to pay to get your stuff back?" Their mover legit tried to sell me my own stuff back. The company then called me the next day and considered the mover trying to sell me my own stuff back after the fact as him offering me a discount to make up for the fact that they were delivering my items 2 months late. When I refused to pay the ransom money they're trying to pay and I'd rather see them in court he told me "when you come crawling back to us in a couple of weeks to ask for your stuff back you'll have to pay a re-shipping fee." I still have no idea where my things are, what condition they're in, or if I'll ever see them again.

Desired Outcome

I want a refund and to get my stuff back
