In contacted Alternative Plumbing in early Febwith an emergency; a shower that would not shut off completelyThey were able to schedule an appointment that day and determined that the shower spigot cartridge needed to be replacedI paid the $for the "repair"
The next time the shower was used, there was a screaming sound from the faucet, and hot or cold were the only optionsI contacted Alternative Plumbing and their agent was sent to my home in a timely mannerHe spent minutes making the "adjustments", no new charge and left
The next day the shower continued to scream and no temperature adjustments were possibleI contacted AP for the 3rd time and was told an agent would arrive the next dayAfter waiting all day, I received a call at 4:stating the agent would not be able to do the repair that dayI rescheduled for another day
Agent arrives with an assistant and we discuss all options for repairI was quoted $for a totally new Moen faucetI inquired about the initial expenditure to get a working showerI was told a $discount was being offered alreadyI asked about the life expectancy for a Moen faucet as the current one was only years oldAfter discussing options, I asked the men to try the "clean out the faucet/lines" approach, which was to cost $worst case scenarioAs the procedure to blow out the lines continued, water began to rush through my family room ceiling onto my new couchAfter stopping the water, I was told "these things happen"The men proceeded to clear the lines and clean out the faucet, electing to replace the cartridge for a 2nd time and the faucet was workingI paid $additional dollars for cleaning the lines and a 2nd cartridge on the faucet, in addition to a hole in my family room ceiling 12" by 3" and a soaked couch
RECAP: The initial call was to fix my shower faucet$dollars later, I have a new cartridge in my old faucet and a ceiling hole to repairI DO NOT suggest you call on Alternative Plumbing for any of your plumbing needs, unless you want to waste countless hours and acquire an additional repairVery frustrating!
I would like to thank Alternative Plumbing for sending *** and his co-worker to our home April for fixing our drainage problem by cleaning out our main sewerThey were both very professional and knowledgeablethank you!
Let me state first Alternative plumbing did nothing illegal or unethical. This is my 2nd experience with this company, The 1st being positive albeit expensive. I asked them to take care of two problems: A leaking toilet and a leaking kitchen faucet. There is a $25 charge for coming out. They recommended a new kitchen faucet which was installed without problems. The leaking toilet was determined to be a loose bolt which I authorized them to fix. The cost for this two minute job was $95. When I call to ask for an adjustment on this charge (twice) I talk to a pleasant lady who promises to get back to me but never does.

Great experience with this company. They arrived quickly, the plumber was knowledgeable, and the price was reasonable. Very satisfied.
