When customer came to us he said he wanted a bigger engine We told him we had a used motor and transmission with over 100,miles on it we could sell him for $We explained that the motor ran but it is a used high mileage motor and transmission, we can not garuntee the condition of the used engine and transmissionWe recommended we go through the engine and do a complete overhaul and the customer did not want to thatWe told him we could sell him the engine and transmission for $and would be roughly $6000.00-$to remove his old engine and transmission and install the used and transmissionWe recommended sendint the transmission out to have it looked at and he said that was okAfter the other shop reviewed the transmission they said it needed completly rebuiltThe cost to rebuild the transmission was $and when we called to tell the customer he approved the $to rebuild the transmissionSo that would put us at $8500-$10,The total repair bill at completion was very high due to it taking a lot more labor than what we intially thought it would along with a lot more partsSo we honored our orginal estimate by taking a lot of the labor charge off the final bill and the final bill that we agreed on with the customer was $11,We recommended pulling the engine apart and the customer approved us to take it apart and wanted a larger cam shaft installed and all new gasketsHe still would not let us overhaul the engine just put a new camshaft in and new gasketsSo the final bill was $11,The customer agreed intially to the $6000.00-$estimate than approved the $for the transmission and approved to put a larger cam shaft and new gaskets in the So between the addition of the transmission cost to rebuild and take apart the engine, put a larger cam shaft in, and all new gaskets $11,is more than fairAfter he Picked up the Vehicle he has had a few issues and everytime he has brought it back we have fixed those issues right away and at no charge to the customer honoring our warrantyAlso the vehicle was dropped off on 6/9/and we explained we needed a deposit to start the workA deposit was paid on 6/22/and then when we called to tell him the vehicle was done and ready to be picked up he could not pay the balance dueOn 8/15/the customer came in and paid the balance due and picked up his vehicleSo we only had the vehicle for just over months not monthsPart of that reason was due to delay in deposit and delay in paying the final billThe dent the customer mentions was there when he dropped the vehicle off and after he made it such a big deal we pulled the dent out to try to resolve the issue at no charge to the customerWe believe we have went above and beyond between lowering the final bill and correcting the issues the customer has had since he picked up the vehicleThere is no money owed backed to the customer as we have done more than enough already to try to resolve the issues with the customer
