First Choice Mechanical Inc.

I’m putting in this complaint against First Choice Mechanical, Inc. to advise the customer to beware.
I was one of the victims of Hurricane Sandy. In December of 2012 I bought a new condenser for my central air which was damaged during the storm. It was installed and not used until the summer of 2013. When I turned it on for the first time during the spring, it would not blow cold air. I called this company and made an appointment for a service call.
They came to my home and were here not even an hour. The service man handed me a bill for $210.00 for labor and $147.00 for the Freon plus tax. The total came to $370.05. Then they told me the unit couldn’t be fixed until the winter. The following year the same thing happened, however, this time they never got back to me. The 2nd and 3rd year I had another company fill the unit with Freon. This year I called for service 7 times in one day. No one got back to me.
I wound up buying a brand new condenser, June 2015. The owner of the company that put in the new unit told me the unit I bought from First Mechanical, Inc. was defective out of the box. The coils were burnt out, it was leaking oil from the bottom and it was leaking Freon.
First Choice Mechanical, Inc. didn’t stand behind their product at all. I’m filing a complaint against them and will be bringing this company to court to get my money back. I highly recommend all of you consumers out there to stay far away from this Jamaica, NY based company. You’ll be very sorry if you use them. I can’t stress that enough. Good luck!
