I am rejecting this response because:
Ed contacted me offering a refund for his services but he's requiring me to sign a legal document releasing him and my realtor from any liabilityI am not signing any legal documentHe simply did not perform his duties and he absolutely stood in my house and admitted that he missed the signs of water damageThere are water stains on the stucco where the gutter was overflowing fromOnce you get on a ladder you can see goobs of caulk which is another signThe wall I opened up on the interior of the house was dark between the studs, yet another signThe pergo floor was raised up under this drywall from the water soaking in, yet another signEd verbally agreed to cover my $1,insurance deductable because he had missed all the signsHe simply agreed to his mistake at my house and further agreed to reimburse me the $1,per our phone conversationIf he agrees to the $1,I will release him from any further liability per our phone conversationIf he's simply refunding the fee for his services then I am not signing any release.

Review: When in the process of purchasing a new home we hired Ed M[redacted] at First Choice Inspections to do the inspection. Once we moved in we realized pretty quickly that we had water coming in by the front door. Several contractors that came out to view the damage and give me an estimate all stated that this should have been easily identified by a home inspector. So I called Ed and he came out to view the damage. Ed quickly admitted that he missed the problem and he took responsibility for not finding the issue. My home owners covered the repair but of course I have a $1,000 deductable. Ed agreed to reimburse me for the $1,000. It's been about 2-3 weeks now and Ed is not taking or returning my calls. My last conversation with Ed involved him having an attorney draw up some sort of agreement where he's giving me the $1,000 and that he would have no further responsibility.Desired Settlement: Ed's card says "100% money back satisfaction guaranteed" right on the back. I simply want the $1,000 he promised.
