Review: The following is our original submitted complaint from Aug/Sept 2015: M y wife enrolled our children into a martial arts program June of this year. She stated she'd pay by credit card to which they responded that they had an auto debit program. The agent produced a pre filled out form and my wife signed it in trust that it was to authorize an auto debit from our card. When we decided to pull or kids from the program we were advised we had entered into no less than a 12 month contract followed by a 30 day mandatory cancellation period when she signed the debit form. Trusting the company agent my wife never read the details because he wasn't transparent to advise her the form was a contract. Now we're receiving harassing phone calls from a third party company to which said document was produced by. I called the martial arts agent to discuss this situation to which he quickly washed his hands of by responding my dispute is with them and no longer with him. The third party billing company has stated to us that they will not stop calling us until we satisfy the amount due. This is a very dirty business practice being performed by what is considered by many to be an honorable and legendary form of self defense training which is posted throughout their facility. The third party collection institution also needs to be questioned about these non transparent business practices especially after I read the complains against them on the Revdex.com website. They go by [redacted] aka [redacted] A simple martial arts training for young children should've never turned into this infuriating situation. [redacted] aka [redacted] claimed they were no longer pursuing the matter as communicated through the Revdex.com of Metro Washington DC / Eastern PA on 9-17-2015. Now we're receiving a notice of debt collection regarding the so called dropped case from First Credit Services [redacted] N.J. Phone: ###-###-####.Desired Settlement: Stop pursuing the debt owed which was already absolved by the original business and a third party billing agency.

Response:

In response to the complaint received from Revdex.com with regard to [redacted]:

FITNESS 4 LESS retained our company’s services on 8/3/12 as a collection agency

to recover the total balance due of $167.94 for member number [redacted]. This

balance was paid in full on 8/16/13.

However, a second membership (#[redacted]) was placed with our agency on

3/8/13 with an outstanding balance of $146.94.

FCS is currently pursuing the balance of $146.94 for the second account

received. We have requested verification

of the past due balance from our client, but, at this time, they have not

supplied it to us. With that said, account #[redacted] has been closed in our system

and returned to our client, FITNESS 4 LESS.

Our

agency has a great respect for consumer rights and abides by all regulations

set forth by the F.D.C.P.A. We did not purchase the debt, rather it was

forwarded to us to collect by the original creditor. As we are no longer

handling this account, we must suggest that any further correspondence be

directed to the original creditor. Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the

issue brought forth by Ms. [redacted].

Review: I have had my phone number since oct of 2012 when I purchased my home. First credit Services (###-###-####) constantly calls looking for[redacted], as they are attempting to collect a debt. I have called them back (on 2/13, 4/29, and most recently on 7/9) to tell them that no one by that number lives here, and I've had this number for almost two years. I've asked them to stop calling me and leaving voicemails, and they always assure me that they do. But they don't. I just received another phone call today. I am starting to consider this harrassment.Desired Settlement: Literally, STOP CALLING MY PHONE NUMBER. [redacted] DOES NOT LIVE HERE.

Response:

In response tothe complaint received from Revdex.com in regard to [redacted]; Aftercompleting a thorough investigation, we have found that an invalid phone numberwas returned to our Agency by the vendor we use for skip-tracing. This is an uncommon occurrence, and maytypically only occur if there is no social security number included in theplacement file that is loaded into our system. At this time, I would like to assure you that Ms. [redacted] phonenumber has been removed from our system and he will no longer be receivingphone calls from our agency. Please note that it has never been FCS’ practice toharass any consumer, nor was it anyone’s intent to do so in this case. Furthermore, our company prides itself withthe certainty that each call strictly abides by the law as well as allF.D.C.P.A. guidelines. I sincerelyapologize for any inconveniences regarding this matter and thank you for theopportunity to respond to the letter you received from Ms.[redacted].

Review: Hello,

This company is repeatedly calling me about my gym membership at Retro Fitness, although I am aware of the outstanding bill because I changed banks but forgot to updated my account with the gym. I informed the company numerous of times to please mail me a statement regarding the amount due, to date I have not received anything in the mail. With so much scams and identify theft I wasn't sure if the company was legit because I never received a statement. I am willing to pay this bill so this company can stop harassing me but I need a statement and I explained that to them. They asked me for my credit card information over the phone and I said no not until I receive a statement. I need this matter resolved ASAP!

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

I requested a letter every time someone called me. April 16 was not the only time I requested a letter. The lady representative hung up on me after a requested a letter. This company submitted the letter quickly to you but couldn't fill my request in a timely matter. This company is very unprofessional. I will definitely pay this bill after I receive my letter. Thanks Revdex.com for your assistance.
