First Data terrible 5 yrs terrible experience
got locked into a contract with First Data, the fees were not what they said they would be. I had to finish the contract even though I switched to another merchant provider that was honest.
Then at the end of 5 yrs of the contract and paying monthly to finish the term they took an extra 75.00 to auto renew. I caught the charge within 10 days and they would not refund me the money. You should never have to lock into a merchant service beware of the small print as they will not tell you.

They are not only incompetent, they are crooked. Use anyone else. In fact, try to find a smaller local credit card processor and stay away from any of these "big players". They have teams of lawyers figuring out any way they can to possible screw you. A nickel here, a dime there (in my case, several hundred dollars in processing fees on a closed account because of a paperwork error) and, when multiplied over millions of customers, they make enough money to pay their legal team with a nice profit to boot.
I actually feel bad for their customer service team. The first tier is working from a script and have limited authority. They must get penalized every time they escalate you to a second tier because it took 4 phone calls to accomplish that. But when you do make it up the chain (I went up a couple of “levels” including supervisors, they keep reading the script. Even if you say “may I make a suggestion as to how you can provide better customer service in the future” they will literally respond “unfortunately sir, it is not our responsibility to advise our customers on that issue.”
Run. Run far. Run fast.

I tried to make a purchase online but because I entered the wrong zip my card was declined twice but finally accepted the third time but Money Network released $1200 dollars for all three I already called the merchant it was declined on their end but money network wont release my money back to me for over a week I am in the military and trying to go home today now $800 short because this company wont release my money without an absurd amount of paperwork the merchant can't provide absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with I will never use this company again and will inform my fellow military members to never use this company and report them to the DOD

Let me add our opinion of First Data Merchant Services to the long list of similar opinions and complaints and dissatisfied customers. This is, bar none, the worst credit card processing company you could possible select. Customer service is despicable. Untrained employees who are clearly unhappy in their jobs and know nothing about how to get anything done. Just spoke with "Debbie" in Sales who admitted that she "knew nothing about anything other that her sales office" when I asked her who might be able to fix the technical problems with our account. Debbie told me that there have never been any technical issues since she has worked for the company. Duh...what? Same sort of nonsensical comment from all employees we have had the displeasure of speaking with in the past. We are so moving on. Do yourself a favor - do not use these dolts and if you already made the mistake of engaging them, join us in giving them the boot and finding another merchant services provider.

Have tried to reset my online account (4) times just today - multiple other times the past month. NO one can explain why I am still locked out, not one person has any other solution other than sending me a temporary password that never works, and when I asked this morning to talk to someone else I was put on hold for over 10 minutes and never connected. Just transferred my money elsewhere - this is the worst customer experience I have ever encountered. Give your employees tools to fix things, give them a hierarchy they can ask for help and escalate issues to, and give your customers some respect - this is our money we shouldn't have to jump through hoops to access it!

They are liars. Told me my Credit Card machine was non compliant and were going to send me a new machine etc. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE ITS A SCAM!

Customer Response • Feb 07, 2020

Your employee named Susan at Ext *** told me Worldpay credit card machine was non compliant and overcharging me by 2% and that we needed a new machine. She then told me you will send me a new machine free of charge and be getting a $250 credit. She then got my bank account info. Which somehow she already had the last 4!! FYI the bank has been alerted. If I see any charge you will be hearing from my lawyer. Had a contact and everything. Wasted my time using false information. SCAMMER SCAMMER SCAMMER

I will not give even one star to this company! How can they POSSIBLY hav an A rating with the Revdex.com??? They are LIERS, SCAMMERS AND THIEVES!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! They promised to pay they cancellation fee for the other company I was with, they never did! I signed a 3 year contract with them and now they want a cancellation fee and still won't honor their own contract with me. Also, I had told them I needed one terminal and they sent two with a 4 year lease through a separate company with an outrageous fee. They NEVER FIX ANYTHING! They promise a low fee on cards but don't tell you about the extra charges on "Point" cards, meaning every card that you run through your system that earns the customers "Points, cash back..." Everybody has that kind of card these days. Also, they don' tell you about if a customer runs their debit without the pin your fee will go from 0% to 5% for that transaction! These are things you will only find out after your first outrageous bill and you are STUCK!
Their customer service is appalling! Once they have you that's it! They prey on small businesses. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE read that contract fully and WALK AWAY!!
This site is making me leave a star.......NOT DESERVING OF ONE!

RUN! Absolutely the worst with hidden and deceptive fees! If you are a small business and they prey on you at your bank to use them, DON'T!!!!! This was the worst possible route I could have chosen for my small business and it was on the recommendation of my bank rep when I started my business account. The person who was supposed to be helping me make smart choices for my small business was upselling me bad ones. JUST RUN! Find your own payment processors online, they are MUCH easier and WAY less expensive. By the time I looked at everything I pay to them (monthly rental fees, p.c.i. compliance fees?, annual maintenance fees of over $100 for what maintenance? On top of processing fees) for the tiny bit of I actually use it, I probably end up paying over 10% of what I make through their processing right back to them. Everything about First Data is complicated, confusing, deceptive and just not worth it.

SMALL BUSINESSES BEWARE - THIS COMPANY IS HORRIBLE & WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY! We had a local representative who would take care of us if we experienced equipment issues. He was great. However, after he left the business and turned us over to First Data directly there was nothing but problems.Customer support is a complete failure. They don't speak/understand the english language well and do not deviate from their script even when told that there was a power surge during a severe storm in our area which likely caused the machine to fail as other systems had also failed for this reason. The morning that the batch failed to settle a call was immediately placed to customer support. Customer support ignored my statement regarding the storm and had me push buttons on the machine and change IP addresses. After SEVERAL unsuccessful attempts of doing the same thing over and over again, they tried to blame it on the internet provider. More calls to find out that the internet was fine. Attempted to talk to a manager or someone higher up at First Data. No one was sure who their boss was. I spent 2 stressful weeks (countless hours) on the phone attempting to get resolution - meanwhile tying up hundreds of dollars. I finally reached an individual who understood what I was saying & was able to help; but all the transactions had to be reprocessed due to this being dragged out so long. They attempted to get me to sign an email saying that any chargebacks would be my liability. I refused. When I informed them that I contacted my lawyer and would be taking additional steps did they finally re-process the transactions. Sure enough a few chargebacks occurred but they agreed to cover it as a credit for next month's processing fees. NO THANK YOU! At this point, I was so frustrated that I was willing to cut my losses and I closed the account in Aug 2019. I went through a different processor. Four months after closing the account $90.18 was removed from my checking account by Merchant Services. I called my current processor and they said they had no such documented transaction and that I would need to call First Data. Turns out that First Data removed money from my checking account under the closed merchant account without my knowledge or consent. Bank couldn't do anything for me because I only had 24 hrs to dispute the withdrawal from my account and it had been 48 hrs when discovered. First Data - Do not attempt to cover this up. I will once again be contacting my lawyer. Its not about the $90.18 - its the principle of the matter! How many more small businesses are you stealing from?!?

Don't ever waste your time or effort dealing with this company. It's just better to say as far away as possible. My parents were told that they were getting a "good deal" by using their services and could cancel when ever they want. The agent was extremely helpful when rushing you to sign that contract but then once you receive your credit card machine it's like he disappeared from the face of the earth. Tried to contact him always left in voicemail or no answer but when he does answer he gives you an attitude. Only thing he's good at is scamming and lying about these rates and overcharging you every month. When my parents finally had enough they told them that they singed a 4 year contract and when they never mentioned it to them at all. We haven't even operated for 2 years because we closed early due to rent going up. While calling FDGL its like getting a Christmas miracle if you don't get an agent that is complete buffoon. Their lines are utter *** always full of static and these people who work as customer representative are complete is and don't know what they are talking about. They keep bringing up useless info and keep changing the subject. Each call would take over an hour long and when they couldn't help you they would just transfer to some other place where they couldn't help you. If you couldn't help me then who could? I was mad to the point where I had to record each conversation because these fools always say different things. To cancel this lease and contract which was just sitting there collecting dust, I had to pay $1200 in 2 years to just cancel something that I'm not even using. I had to hire a lawyer just to get this problem done because these is won't do anything but take money from your bank account. I would highly recommend you to stay away from this dumpster fire of a company and I really hope that they get sued to the point where they have to close down forever.

Horrible company, They are very deceitful about their product, and their services. They have a lot of hidden fees. I wouldn't recommend this POS to anyone. If you read this and decide to use this service. You have entered at your own risk.

I ran a credit card in August 8th 2019. First data pulled over 3000.00 on December of 25 th. That being said visas limit on charge back is 120 days. They violated the rules visa made. And like other reviews say they don't know anything. They first said they took the money then said my processor challas group done it. I've got the conversation recorded. They are crooks that will steal from you and it takes days to correct or never. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY.

Do not use. 3 rd time. Setting my new account up. Customer service is a joke and a half. Holding a transaction that has been satisfied since dec.1 unbelieveable. It is now dec. 22 and calling cilustoner service is just a joke they are useless. Asking for a manager high up in company and they do not even know who that is. If you worked for a company. You would know.

An arrogant company with under trained and qualified customer service who don't have the ability to leave their script to listen to the issue being reported.

Signed on for a Clover machine in May 2019. Months later it is stolen (break and enter with police report). First Data has declined me the $5/month insurance and I spend dozens of hours over 3 weeks with their customer service. My rep, ignores emails then eventually pushes me back to customer service.
Costs me $1500 to replace machine OR leave the contract... definitely left the contract.

Considering Clover or First Data? Go elsewhere!!! Run don't walk from this uncaring, arrogant and underqualified corporation.

This whole company is a scam. Our rep sold us on 3 pieces of equipment for the price of one for a low monthly rate. As a small business it was a great opportunity. We were overcharged HUNDREDS of dollars. I reached out to our rep to resolve the issue and all of a sudden his communication was non existent, he couldnt give me his supervisors information, nobody could refund the money and so on. We cancelled our account within 30 days and continued to request refunds for the overcharges. Never happened. So months later we still have this equipment that we just got charged for out of the blue IN FULL for all 3 pieces. Have requested refunds MULTIPLE times and to send equipment back because it has not been used and NOBODY IN THIS COMPANY WILL RESPOND. I feel that my small business is being stolen from and this company does not care about their customers or making it right. They have stolen more than $3000 from us in ridiculous overages and fees that we did not agree to.

these people are robbers, with a lot of hidden and tricky fees

DO NOT USE. Multiple issues with this card. Just in the last 2 months. They have left me with no money. Even if there is cash on the card. One was they would not transfer my funds from my savings account to my checking. I needed to do on app. Lost my phone. I had no way of getting the security code to access my account. For 3 days I was without a phone and money. Even though I had enough on my account. I just couldn't access it. This time. There is a hold on an amount. The amounts already been taken out. They will not release it.. leaving me high and dry again. I will be finding a new company to deal with. Everytime I ask for the CEO. They do not even know what this person does. I demanded a call they said they can escalate it but 24 to 48 hours. I said 1 hour. I know I won't get a call back. Bit anyways. DO NOT USE UNLESS YOU WANT GRIEF

The absolute worst customer service experience ever! Every call is a royal pain. They always request the amount of your last deposit that has not even posted to your bank yet, and they provide no daily batch reports to obtain this amount. When attempting to cancel my account, I was sent to voicemail on 5 occasions, and never received a call back. They continued to charge me for 2 months service fees after I left the voicemail to cancel my account. I only left a voicemail because no one would answer the phone! The WORST merchant processing option I have ever experienced!

This company " hold/takes" your money for transactions that were declined. The customer service is the worst yet. The supervisors/And their supervisors are just as bad. It seems like they pass *** to another call rep. They say the same thing " your money will be there tomorrow" 5 days later your still calling. No one can count and get the 7-10 business days right. It is completely unprofessional. The worst card/company/customer service in the world.

MERCHANT BEWARE*** I have been a small business owner for 7 years. We have been with Square for all 7 years, we process roughly 300K annually. I was approached by Keisha at First Data because of a previous inquiry we had made in regards to a capital loan. She was very nice and attentive in the beginning. The process was easy and we were approved. I had told her that we were at a conference in Vegas when it was time to sign the contracts, she assured me it was no problem. Once we were set up with a merchant account and processed 2 batches we would be good to go. Immediately got me on the phone with Evan who was glad to send me another contract to sign, and dumb me thought I was doing the right thing. Told him I didnt have the ability to send some business documents they needed because again we were in Vegas. He said it was no problem, and I then got tracking on my new Clover Go. Excited to start processing I found INVOICEASAP which is an approved application through them. I immediately started processing and was excited. I did 2 batches and contacted Keisha to get the next step going. She then explained that it had to be 2 batches on my Clover Go, you know that thing that is in Texas and Im in Vegas. A little frustrated I said ok Ill do it their way. I got home on Sunday and started to process that day through the Clover Go. So in the last 5 days we processed $4097.27. of which $1500 was released to our account. I called and emailed Keisha with no response. Feeling a little taken advantage of I emailed Keisha a second time today to be told. and I quote, "Hello, Due to the transformation from Square they will want to see 7 batches and so far you have 3 need 4 more". Ok so apparently we are making the rules up as we go. I informed her that it not what I was told in writing and that was unacceptable. I believe business have to be transparent. First Data was given over a years worth of processing history with Square and I can provide 6 more years. They have lied to me, and I am disgusted with how it was handled. Needless to say I wont be processing anymore because I have no idea what else they lied to me about. Its a shame I was looking forward to a nice business relationship with them
